Colorism is a direct result of slavery and its effects trickle down in pretty much every area of human life, from the workplace to entertainment industry — especially when it comes to women. Statistics even show that darker skin women receive harsher prison sentences than their lighter-skinned counterparts. The worst part about the systemic disease is that poisons, obliterates and deteriorates the self-esteem of young, Black girls, who are ultimately the future of the human race. Media shows us that if you’re a dark skin girl, there’s no way you can play the soft, pretty love interest. To them, and most of America, the only roles fit for highly pigmented Black women are that of slaves and maids. “With my flat nose and dark skin, the only parts that came my way were slaves, maids, and a part simply titled 'African Girl.' Hell, they even let our dark queen Nina Simone be played by fair skin, dominican actress Zoe Saldana . What’s interesting though is that then it comes to making films about slavery, casting directors have no problem finding and hiring dark skin actresses. So crazy how true that is. They always can find trillions of dark skin actors when it’s a slave movie. Show them that they’re deserving of the love, attention and praise that their lighter skin counterparts receive in every facet of human life. Be honest, besides Lupita, how many dark skin actresses can you name from the younger generation? And even Lupita wouldn’t be considered young Hollywood. I’m talking Marsai Martin’s class. It’s not that we’re bitter or angry. Quite the contrary actually. We’re proud of our sisters like Cynthia Erivo who scored the role of Harriet Tubman , one of the most powerful women in the history of women. But we are revolting against the harsh reality that Hollywood is still uncomfortable showcasing dark skin women on the big screen, unless they’re running from Massa or cleaning up behind his family. Baby Pilar Jhena’s mom previously said that she was “taking her time” snapping back after giving birth in April. “I’ve done the opposite of what people do when they get shamed online. They hide because you shame them,” Williams said. “I actually post pictures with fitting clothes, still showing my postpartum body. I’m proud of it. I’m going to bounce back naturally, and I’m not going to stress myself.” Now she’s showing fans the results of her snapback while admitting that she still has a postpartum FUPA. “However lately I’ve decided to start eating healthy and drinking a gang of water and I actually can see some early changes in my body. I really don’t believe in the snap back thing for me too much or put pressure on myself… I’m just celebrating me starting to FEEL like myself again after childbirth. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion special aired Tuesday night, and while there was a fair amount of drama on set, the real fireworks were going off on Twitter. You see, Brandi Glanville was clearly watching the show live, and the former RHOBH cast member had a lot to say about the proceedings: As you may recall, Glanville was fired from the show back in 2015, but either her ex-castmates still get under her skin, or she’s angling to get her old job back, because Brandi was throwing some major shade online during Tuesday night’s broadcast. Most of her ire was directed at Camille Grammer, who argued that Brandi was the reason Lisa Vanderpump decided not to attend this year’s reunion : “She’s pissed about Brandi,” Camille said at one point. “[She’s pissed Brandi] showed up on the show, absolutely. She’s her archenemy! She feels so betrayed.” From there, Brandi turned her attention to Denise Richards and accused of her conspiring with Brandi against Lisa: “I’m just assuming — and I could be absolutely wrong — but she felt throughout this season that you’ve had her back, Denise, but you talking to Brandi,” said an outraged Camille. “Brandi’s her archenemy.” While the Glanville-Vanderpump feud is the stuff of legend, Camille is likely overstating her case, as Lisa had lots of reasons to skip the reunion. On the show, Denise argued that she and Brandi “didn’t meet to talk about Vanderpump.” And on Twitter, Brandi positively unloaded on Camille: “I am NOT LVP’s arch enemy!! That is absolute insanity. Trust and believe that is UNTRUE!!!” Glanville tweeted. “I adore [Denise] after meeting her at a dinner party for our mutual agent! [Not to mention] 95% of our conversation was not about LVP at all!” From there, Brandi revealed that she was quick to reach out when Lisa’s brother died last year. Then she continued to go off on Grammer: “Nope [Camille] I don’t buy it!” Brandi continued. “She knows for a fact that I’m a proper f–king person and that I do the RIGHT thing when I’m suppose to. We may not be friends but I’m not LVP’s #1enemy.” When a fan agreed with Brandi’s sentiments, Glanville replied by dismissing Camille as a “wishy-washy c-nt.” And believe it or not, the tirade didn’t end there: “Let me be clear, LVP and I have a past that we will not recover from but I refuse to let [Denise] be called out for provoking anything!” Brandi tweeted. “I was on ONE episode of an entire season where the women had their own separate issues with her. That’s f–king it.” She added: “It’s clear to me that if certain people feel that they are going down they have the need to take everyone down with them. If I had done that the ENTIRE housewives world would be ‘shook.’ “I’m not that person and that’s not how I’m raising my boys. It’s an exciting time for the members of Arkansas’ second most-famous family. (Sorry, but the bajillionaire Waltons are tough to beat.) We’re in the midst of a veritable Duggar baby boom with no fewer than 5 Duggar women currently expecting. That’s a dream come true for Michelle and Jim Bob, who are firm believers that they were put on this planet for the primary purpose of being fruitful and multiplying. At this rate, in a couple decades’ time, the Duggars will have enough grandchildren and great-grandchildren to tip the scales of an Arkansas gubernatorial election and finally give Jim Bob that political career he’s always wanted. But as thrilled as JB is to see his many kids having many kids, the process of a global Duggar takeover may not be happening as quickly as he had hoped: You see, there are five adult Duggar children who are currently unmarried, and that just doesn’t jibe with Jim Bob’s worldview. The Duggar patriarch is an adherent of the Quiverfull movement , which holds that it’s the duty of each and every Christian to sire as many offspring as humanly possible. So you can bet four of the five single Duggars over the age of 18 will be married before long. The third may be a tough nut for Jim Bob to crack. As you’re probably aware, 29-year-old Jana Duggar is still single , and she seems to have every intention of staying that way. When her twin brother John David Duggar married Abbie Burnett back in November, Jana became the oldest single Duggar. You might think that would make her Jim Bob’s top priority, but it seems he’s accepted the fact that Jana is content with her current situation. That places the focus squarely on 20-year-old twins Jedediah and Jeremiah. (Jason and James Duggar are 19 and 18, respectively, and while Jim Bob is no doubt eyeing courtship prospects, he tends to prefer that his kids get married in order of age.) Insiders say the smart money is on Jeremiah, who’s considered to be the “heartthrob” of the family. Last year, there were rumors that Jeremiah was courting a mystery woman, but nothing ever came of the alleged romance. Of course, there have been rumors about Jedidiah, too — but the Duggars have been quick to sweep those reports under the rug. Back in 2017, a source informed The Hollywood Gossip that Jedidiah courted Kendra Caldwell before her relationship with Joseph Duggar, but Jim Bob decided Joe should marry Kendra, as he’s the older brother. We may never know for certain exactly what happened there, but the fact that the rumor is considered plausible is a testament to the amount of control that Jim Bob exerts over his kids’ love lives. The Hills: New Beginnings star Audrina Patridge is once again having trouble with her unstable ex-husband Corey Bohan . Unfortunately, this time it’s not over something as simple as whether or not their daughter is allowed on camera. She has been granted a temporary restraining order protecting both her and her daughter and accuses her ex of domestic abuse. Not for the first time, Audrina Patridge has been granted a temporary restraining order against her awful baby daddy, Corey Bohan. The order was requested and granted on the grounds of allegations of recent domestic violence. Last week, she filed an emergency motion on behalf of both herself and her young daughter, Kirra. Sadly but notably, this is not the first time that Audrina has had to seek legal protection from her ex-husband. Their marriage ended after less than a year amid domestic violence accusations. According to documents obtained by The Blast , Corey Bohan will literally have to keep his distance. He is required to stay 100 yards away from Audrina, from Kirra, from Audrina’s home, and from Kirra’s school. Until the investigation is complete, he is also denied any and all visitation with his daughter. Restraining orders can feel like a hollow gesture, especially when taken out to prevent brutal violence. But we hope that this is enough to keep Audrina and Kirra safe. The majority of the details of the restraining order have been sealed by the court. However, we do know the most recent incident of alleged abuse. Audrina lists that as “May 2019, continuing to present.” Additionally, Audrina is seeking full custody of Kirra. It is unclear whether mother, daughter, or both are said to be the primary targets of violence in this case. Even with much of the information sealed, it seems likely that further details will come out as this case continues. Corey Bohan has already had the nerve to address this on social media. Taking to his private Instagram, Corey seemed to suggest that he plans to fight Audrina in court. “Keyword TEMPORARY,” he wrote. Corey then added a chilling: “to be continued …” You know, a lot of alleged abusers get described as master manipulators who make themselves seem kind an innocent to the rest of the world. Meanwhile, Corey’s message sounds vague but a little menacing. He might as well have written ” that won’t protect you forever! ” Corey has certainly managed to make life difficult for Audrina, even in ways not involving alleged violence. The Hills: New Beginnings began filming in late 2018. At the time, Corey was adamant that Kirra not have any role in filming. This wasn’t just something that he demanded — he got a court order to that effect. This spring, however, it was revealed that he had “somehow” changed his mind … after Audrina refusd to sign their divorce papers until he gave the go-ahead for Kirra to film. We do not know the context in which the most recent domestic violence allegedly took place. This is very upsetting to hear — for Audrina’s sake but especially for young Kirra’s. Kirra is only three years old. We hope that the investigation and the court’s conclusions will reflect justice and the safety of Kirra.
