Showtime has confirmed that the former Mrs. Tom Cruise will play a “major” role on Ray Donovan Season 3: she’ll come on board the drama as a shrewd business woman named Paige. According to the network press release, the character will be the daughter of billionaire producer Andrew Finney (to be portrayed by Ian McShane), who enlists Ray’s services. Holmes, of course, will forever be remembered by television fans as Joey from Dawson’s Creek, but she has more recently appeared on episodes of How I Met Your Mother and Eli Stone, along with the miniseries The Kennedys. Woman Wakes Up From Coma To Learn That She’s 4 Months Pregnant Can you imagine suffering through a horrific accident that left you in a coma with extensive injuries…and then waking up to learn that you’re pregnant? Well, one UK woman is now living that reality. via Huffington Post Last September, Gemma Holmes was driving a scooter in Hilperton, England, when she collided with a parked car. The impact reportedly caused her to fly across a busy road and slam into a lamp post. Holmes suffered horrific injuries, including severe head injuries and a broken back. In a coma, the 26-year-old was airlifted to the hospital, where doctors didn’t think she’d survive. Remarkably, about three months after the crash, Holmes awoke from the coma. Not only was she still alive, but she was told that she was almost 4 months pregnant. According to SWNS.com, Holmes suffered amnesia as a result of the accident. She couldn’t remember what had happened over the last three years, including how she had met her baby’s father. (The child’s dad has since been located, but he and Holmes have not reunited romantically.) “I was just in shock,” she said of receiving the surprising news Sounds like this woman has an interesting but blessed road ahead of her….

A Colorado judge entered a plea of not guilty on behalf of James Holmes, whose attorney said he was not ready to enter one in the Aurora shooting case. The judge thus entered a not guilty plea for him and said he could change the plea to not guilty by reason of insanity, the Associated Press reports. James Holmes , who faces 166 counts of murder, manslaughter and other crimes for the July 2012 massacre, sat silent, but alert, at the hearing. He alternately appeared to look at the judge and stare into space . Jailed for eight months now, the 25-year-old was reportedly restrained in a psychiatric ward for several days last fall out of fear he might harm himself. To be found not guilty by reason of insanity, Holmes has to prove he did not know right from wrong when he committed the crime of which he is accused. Prosecutors say Holmes planned the massacre well in advance, ordering arms and ammunition through the internet and dressing in paramilitary gear. To make matters even worse, police also found explosives in his apartment that had reportedly been rigged to go off when authorities entered. Holmes had no connection to his victims, and unlike Newtown shooter Adam Lanza , or Columbine shooters Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, did not commit suicide. He has been compared to Jared Loughner , who opened fire outside a Tucson supermarket in 2011, killing 6 and wounding 13 others, including Rep. Gabrielle Giffords. Loughner, a diagnosed schizophrenic, was initially ruled not competent to stand trial, but after more than a year of treatment inside a federal prison, pleaded guilty. He was sentenced to life without parole. The D.A. will make an announcement on April 1 about whether he intends to seek the death penalty for Holmes, whose defense asked for more time to prepare.

James Holmes made another appearance in court today, as a hearing was held to listen to arguments from media outlets who believe a judge should unseal various documents related to the July 20 movie theater shooting in Aurora, Colorado . Both sides – the prosecution and the defense – actually prefer to keep these documents away from the public while the case is pending. But while a decision was not made regarding that issue, Holmes’ attorneys did show their hand a bit: They asked for prosecutors and investigators turn over every shred of evidence in their possession in order for the alleged killer’s legal team to make a determination. “We cannot begin to assess the nature and the depth of Mr. Holmes’ mental illness until we receive full disclosure of all the documents,” a lawyer told the judge, hinting they will pursue an insanity defense. Holmes faces 24 counts of first-degree murder . The state has not revealed yet whether it plans to ask for the death penalty.
