An 11-year-old Louisiana boy who passed away from cancer this week made sure to fulfill his one final selfless wish before he died. 11-Year-Old Dying Boy’s Final Wish To Feed The Homeless Is Fulfilled Via HuffPo reports: After a five-year battle with rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare cancer that develops in the soft tissue, Trevor Sims of Baton Rouge died on Wednesday, according to WBRZ. But even as the young kid who loved video games and going to the beach faced a grave fate and severe pain, he spent his waning days helping others. Trevor’s goal before he died was to raise money and collect food for the Baton Rouge Food Bank to help the homeless and the hungry. So impressed with his altruistic spirit, the organization decided to dedicate a week-long charity event in his name. The generous kid said he was inspired to help others after his own mom struggled to put food on the table. “One time, when I was diagnosed, my mom didn’t have any money to get food and we were starving for two or three days in a row. She couldn’t get a job because she had to take care of me,” Trevor told ABC. “I don’t want nobody else to feel that way.” Altogether, the Trevor’s Wish City-Wide Food Drive raised more than 34,000 pounds of food and $64,000 in monetary donations, according to the organization. But it wasn’t just the homeless and the hungry that Trevor had on his mind. Before the charitable boy passed away, he sat down with WBRZ to share his thoughts on how to leave a meaningful mark in this world. “You can make a difference every day. Just by helping somebody who’s getting bullied or helping somebody cross the street or anything,” he told the news outlet. “All little things count.” In his short life, this young man taught others what ‘living’ and ‘giving’ means. She will be covering the entire U.S. Open this week … and unlike most of her media counterparts, it sounds like she’s having dinner with Tiger Woods. Presumably Lindsey Vonn will be there too. The homeless man given a pair of boots by a kind NYPD officer last month apparently is not homeless after all. The boots are also missing already. According to the N.Y. Daily News , Jeffrey Hillman, 54, has a Bronx apartment paid for via a combination of rent vouchers, Social Security, and VA benefits. It’s a sad and somewhat puzzling follow-up to a story that captured millions of hearts. Hillman and police officer Lawrence DePrimo became Internet sensations after a tourist snapped a photo of DePrimo giving the homeless man a pair of boots . The photo went viral and warmed thousands of hearts, but yesterday, Hillman was spotted around New York, again barefoot. They are “hidden,” he confessed. “They are worth a lot of money. I could lose my life,” he told the N.Y. Times . The Daily News reports that various city organizations have attempted to help Hillman, to no avail, as “[Hillman] has a history of turning down services.” The man’s brother, Kirk Hillman, told the Daily News that he hasn’t heard from Jeffrey since January. Kirk, too, said Jeffrey has refused overtures of help. “We love our brother very much,” Kirk Hillman told the newspaper. “Our door is always open, but this is a lifestyle he’s chosen.” While he won’t say where they are or why they could endanger him, Jeffrey Hillman told the Times that he is grateful for the boots from Officer DePrimo: “I want to thank everyone that got onto this thing. I want to thank them from the bottom of my heart. It meant a lot to me. And to the officer, first and foremost.”

Via TooFab : Wendy Williams is taking it all off for a brand new PETA ad — becoming the latest star to strip for the organization’s “I’d Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur” campaign. A former fur lover, Wendy now says “we should all try to be comfortable in our own skin and let animals keep theirs.” Wendy unveiled her new ad today in Times Square. According to a press release, the talk show host and PETA are urging those who have fur coats to donate them to the the organization — so they can give them to the homeless during their winter coat drives.
