According to TMZ , Mel arrived at the hospital super early this morning with her husband Stephen Belafonte and a bodyguard in tow. The singer who’s about to give birth to her 3rd child recently declared, “It’s coming out this week, one way or another it’s coming out this week.” The 36-year-old star has two children, Phoenix, 12, and Angel, 4. Nick Cannon held a fundraiser at Citi Field recently called the “Hug It Out” effort where he attempted to set the world record for hugs given out in an hour. While this may seem like another attempt at shameless attention whoring, it actually collected almost 1,700 toys for the New York Hospital of Queens. One woman is facing such a dilemma. A British woman was told that she had suffered a miscarriage only to find that her baby was still alive a month later.Catherine Kent, 27, and her partner Kevin Gray, 28, were devastated when they were told in June that their unborn baby had died at eight weeks. She was offered an abortion or pills to shorten the miscarriage, the Daily Mail reported.Kent chose to wait for the baby to pass naturally — and a month later was stunned when a scan revealed that her child was still alive. The couple were elated to learn she was still pregnant, but furious with the hospital for the mistake.”They could have aborted my baby while it was alive,” Kent told the Daily Mail. “How can the hospital make a mistake like that?”Kent is due to give birth to the baby girl in February. Sean Kingston was recently released from the hospital after a jet-ski accident that almost claimed his life. In an interview airing Tuesday for the “MTV First: Sean Kingston” special, Sean Kingston says “I’m doing good. I’m feeling great. I’m excited. I’m happy,” he said. “A lot of people don’t know it was a deeper situation. Recovering singer says during ‘MTV First: Sean Kingston’ he hopes to release new music by year’s end. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Sway Calloway Sean Kingston Photo: MTV News After recalling the incidents of his “life-or-death” accident during “MTV First: Sean Kingston,” the singer opened up about his plans to get back to work and release new music by year’s end. “[I’m] focused on music again, about to start working on a new album and get back out there again,” he said during the chat at his house in Miami. “I’m excited about the project. It’s going to be really dope.” Given the intensity of his accident and the recovery process, Kingston has a whole new perspective on songwriting. “I haven’t lost no memory; I think I’m even better at writing and stuff,” he said. “Being in the hospital, having all this time off, I’ve been writing and coming up with different ideas. I’m ready to go.” Kingston is best known for his reggae-infused pop tracks like “Beautiful Girls” and “Take You There,” and his still-in-the-works new album will certainly touch on the sound that catapulted him to stardom. “I’m going back in with my producer J.R. [Rotem], who did really big records for me. I’m going back to the whole reggae, island-pop thing. I’m going back to my roots,” he said. “I think it’s definitely going to open up a lot of people, because now I got a story to tell,” he later said. “The world needs to know what I’m coming with, ’cause I’m coming with straight heat. I’ve been down. I’ve been in the house coming up with ideas. My producer J.R., he’s a hitmaker. It’s gonna be my third album, I’m older now. It’s gonna be crazy.” While in the hospital, Kingston had his jaw wired shut for a time. It was a situation Kanye West once found himself in that sparked his first hit “Through the Wire.” Kingston certainly wouldn’t rule out writing a song about his recovery — or working with ‘Ye, for that matter. “Oh man, he’s in my top five rappers,” he said. “I met him twice, and he’s a great person. He’s definitely talented. I’m actually waiting for him and the Jay-Z album [ Watch the Throne ] to drop. During “MTV First: Sean Kingston ,” the singer spoke candidly with Sway Calloway at his house in Miami about the day that changed his life forever, letting fans know that months after his jet ski crashed into a bridge near his home in Florida, he’s now back and better than ever. “I’m doing good. I’m feeling great. I’m excited. I’m happy,” he said. “A lot of people don’t know it was a deeper situation. I had open heart surgery and I had two other surgeries; it was a life-or-death situation.” Kingston — the Jamaican-American singer who broke onto the scene with the “Stand by Me”-sampling song “Beautiful Girls” and scored another hit with the Justin Bieber collabo “Eenie Meenie” last year — was rushed to the hospital May 29 after a jet-ski crash. He explained to Sway that he was going about 35 miles an hour when he miscalculated how high the tide had risen and collided with a bridge. The singer revealed for the first time in the sit-down that just as he was being released from the hospital for injuries related to the crash, he was rushed into surgery to deal with a newly discovered heart condition. “They were gonna send me home, but then I had felt a pain in my left chest, and I told my mom,” he explained. “They rushed me and they did a lot of scans on me, [and] they said I couldn’t leave.” It was discovered that blood had filled up in his chest and his aorta was torn. He went into surgery several times to fix the condition, knowing that the risks were high, but he survived, and now he’s focused on the positive. “I’m 100 percent right now,” he said. “I’ve been in the house chilling, about to start work on my new album. I got L.A. Reid now as my new president . I got a story to tell now.” Kingston isn’t taking his new lease on life lightly. “What the accident basically taught me is, in life, you have to count your blessings,” he said. “You just got to keep God present at all times and think about the consequences.” During the chat, Kingston opened up about the details of the accident, talked about the support he’s received from celebrity pals like Justin Bieber and Chris Brown , his new music and finally getting the chance to meet the man who saved him after he crashed.
