More details to follow as the story develops … UPDATE : A police statement confirms that at 11:34 a.m. Anderson Police were called to a residence in the 1300 block of Pleasant Meadow Drive. The relative advised the authorities to check on Amber. A source says Gary Shirley’s mother was the one who made the phone call to the police. An inside source reports the following: “Two policemen arrived, found her face-up on the couch and immediately called for an ambulance. When two EMT workers arrived, they removed the rope that Amber had loosely knotted around her neck.” “They tried speaking with her, but she was in and out of consciousness and couldn’t respond; she was just moaning. Serena Williams is revealing details about the multiple surgeries she underwent over the past year, one of which was life-saving as it removed a fatal blood clot from her lungs. The blood clot developed while she was recuperating from her second foot surgery, one she needed after cutting her right foot with glass while leaving a restaurant in Munich last July. On her lung surgery: “It has been a totally different road because I’ve had some serious health problems and I was literally on my deathbed at one point. The doctors said that I had several clots bilaterally in both lungs. They said if they had caught it two days later, it could have been a lot more serious, possibly career-ending. A lot of people die from it because you don’t recognize it. I couldn’t breathe. I honestly just thought I was out of shape and needed to get on the treadmill or hit the elliptical. It was my physio who forced me to go to the hospital whereas I was actually on the way to a party. She said, ‘No, you need to go to the hospital.’ I’m glad I didn’t go to that party.” On cutting her foot and the following surgery: “We were leaving the restaurant, I was walking and then I felt something. I just stepped back and said, ‘Oh, that really hurts.’ There was a massive pool of blood. I was like, ‘Oh my gosh.’ I ended up fainting because I lost so much blood. I ended up getting stitches in both feet. One was on top and one was on the bottom of my other foot. It sliced right through my ligament. I didn’t know that, I just knew that my toe was hanging low.” “The second surgery on my foot was way tougher than the first, especially mentally. More mentally tough than anything I have been through in my life outside of my sister’s passing. I was in a cast for 20 weeks. I’d rather have been in jail for 20 weeks because I really hated that cast. Having your foot in one position so long, not moving it, not being able to walk or do a lot of things caused a lot of the problems.” On her post-surgery mindset: “After it was all over, there were a few days when I didn’t get out of bed. So much had happened to me and I couldn’t understand why. I was thinking, ‘Just what didn’t I do or what did I do to deserve this?’” However, Serena has finally returned to tennis, playing in a pre-Wimbledon tournament in the UK today: “If tennis has missed [Venus and I] half as much as we’ve missed tennis, we’re in a good place. This is a comeback that’s totally different from any other comeback.” SOURCE Serena Williams’ Sexy Twitter Avatar Stirs Up Controversy Serena Williams’ Stalker Arrested Serena Williams’ Raunchy Video Game Ad Banned From TV Is Beyonce A Liar? We hope this isn’t the case, but facts are definitely pointing to Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez’ puppy love having gotten a little too real. On Friday, TMZ reported that Selena was rushed to the hospital in NYC on Thursday night, following her appearance on “The Tonight Show”. Sources tell us … Gomez was feeling horrible during and after the show, complaining of nausea and a severe headache. She was taken to a Los Angeles area hospital and is still there, undergoing tests. We’re told the exact cause of her illness is not yet known. She then proceeded to cancel a Friday night performance, while still not saying if what had landed her in the hospital was a stomach virus, food poisoning, exhaustion or any of the countless excuses young stars use when they randomly go to the hospital. Today, TMZ reports that Selena went back to the hospital yesterday, presumably complaining of the same symptoms. What does that sound like to you? Photo: TMZ/GSI Media
The first photos of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, taken about five months after she was tragically shot in the head , have emerged on Facebook. The images depict a a woman in recovery, smiling and with short, dark hair. They were taken by a professional photographer on May 17 at TIRR Memorial Hermann Hospital, a day before Giffords under a cranioplasty. The picture above was not altered or edited, according to her staff, who said it shows “Gabby has traveled a remarkable distance since Jan. 8.” “This was Mark and Gabby’s decision,” said spokesman CJ Karamargin of the pictures’ release. “There is intense interest in the Congresswoman’s appearance and on the threshold of her going to outpatient treatment, we thought this was a good way to satisfy public curiosity.” Giffords is expected to leave the hospital this month. The man accused of opening fire on her and her constituents in Arizona has been deemed mentally incompetent .
She isn’t pregnant. Nor has she come down with Bieber Fever. Instead, sources say Selena Gomez was rushed to the hospital on Thursday night – and then returned there again yesterday – due to concerns over high blood pressure. Doctors have not yet discovered the basis for Selena’s nausea and headache, which landed her under their care to begin with last week, following an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. She hopes to perform for fans on Monday at Santa Monica Place, which would kick off a 10-city tour for the artist. Let’s hope she makes it and is feeling fine!
Why the hell are people bringing their babies to the crime scenes these days???? A 14-month-old girl was thrown from a speeding getaway car late Thursday night after the suspects were caught shoplifting at KMart, according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department. Just after 9:00 p.m. Thursday, deputies responded to the KMart at 7325 Two Notch Road for a shoplifting call. “We know that three people went into the KMart with a child in the vehicle. We know that as they arrived at the KMart that they were there to shoplift,” said Captain Chris Cowan. When deputies arrived, KMart security had 21-year-old Courtney NaShawn Palmer in custody. Security officers told deputies that Palmer and another woman got into a scuffle with officers after being confronted and accused of stealing from the store. Deputies say a third woman, 22-year-old Kimberly Moody, was parked in the lot waiting in the getaway car when she noticed what was going on in the store, according to the sheriff’s department. After seeing what was happening, Moody decided to leave the premises in a hurry, according to deputies. ” She hit the accelerate,” said Captain Cowan. “She accelerated to a high rate of speed, sending a 1-year-old out of the back of the vehicle into the parking lot, causing serious injury.” The child was not restrained and the door was not secure, according to investigators. “Once she realizes the child’s been thrown out of the vehicle, she stops,” said Captain Cowan. “She and the other individual come running out of the KMart, picked the child up, put the child in the car, and then take the child to the hospital.” Deputy Curtis Wilson says the child has broken ribs, a collapsed lung and multiple abrasions and is currently in ICU at the hospital. Moody was charged Friday with unlawful conduct towards a child. Her bond hearing was held Friday night. Officers said she has since posted bail. Palmer was arrested Thursday night and charged with shoplifting. Palmer was arrested Thursday night and charged with shoplifting. Investigators say she tried to steal two bottles of body spray, a bottle of body wash, a stick of deodorant, a pair of earrings, and a pack of tissue totaling $29.61. A judge granted Palmer a $2,130 personal recognizance bond Friday morning. She also posted bail. A third arrest came Friday night, according to deputies. 20-year-old Courtney Nicole-Francetta Mace was charged with two counts of assault and battery as well as one count of unlawful conduct toward a child. Deputies said Mace is the mother of the child that was thrown from the vehicle Thursday. The mother of the injured baby, according to the deputies, was involved in the scuffle with the security officer. “We’ll continue to investigate,” said Captain Cowan. “We need to process witness statements. We need to continue to interview people, process surveillance footage, and once we do that, then we’ll make a determination whether somebody else will be charged and what those charges will be.” Truly sad…all this because they were trying to gank KMart for some deodorant and body spray. SMH. We hope that baby has a speedy recovery. Source

Less than four months after Brandy helped her raise the funds needed to get a heart transplant, 17-year-old Jessica Harris has passed away. Harris, who lived in the same town of McComb, Mississippi, where Brandy was raised, died at a New York hospital on Thursday, Brandy said. The singer/actress started a campaign to raise funds for surgery to correct Jessica’s congenital heart defect after meeting Harris last year. The teen finally received the transplant in late February. “Jessica was and will always be an inspiration to our family. In the face of her illness, her courageous spirit and positive outlook gave us memories we will cherish for a lifetime,” the singer and her family said in a statement on Friday. “We were touched by the outpouring of generosity from the public when we set up a fund on her behalf to help cover her medical and travel expenses,” the statement added. Brandy thanked those who donated to the fund and the hospital that carried out the heart transplant — the Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital in New York. Harris suffered from hypoplastic left heart syndrome, and was denied medical insurance through her father’s job because she was deemed to be suffering from a preexisting condition. So sad… Rest In Peace Jessica Source
