Source: Peter Macdiarmid / Getty South Carolina Kid Steals Car To Meet Man He Met On Snapchat An 11-year old boy from South Carolina was reunited with his family on Monday after he reportedly drove alone almost 200 miles from Simpsonville to Charleston to live with a strange man he met via Snapchat. Reports say that Officer Christopher Braun encountered the boy at about 12:30 a.m. Monday morning after noticing he was the only person in the vehicle. The boy had stolen his brother’s car and driven the three hours to live with an unknown male. According to CPD, the boy used his father’s tablet GPS function to navigate the trip, but lost the signal upon arriving in Charleston, and didn’t know where to go. ABC News reports : After getting the boy’s name and his father’s name, Braun contacted the father, who was in the process of reporting his child missing, and told him what happened. The father and his other son drove to Charleston from Simpsonville to pick up his 11-year-old son and the older son’s vehicle. Fortunately, the unidentified juvenile was safely reunited with his family, and is in good health. The South Carolina Attorney General’s office is investigating the incident, along with Charleston Police. Parents, stay woke.

Time and time again, interviews with Mike Johnson showed the charmter Bachelorette alum gently set aside rumors that he was in talks with ABC. He was — and is — a fan-favorite to be the next leading man, even though Peter Weber is the Bachelor . Now, Mike reveals that he was in talks, that he did want the role, and shares the extremely noble reason why he was hyped for it. Mike Johnson had already weighed in a little on Peter’s selection — he’s a big fan! But on The Bachelor Happy Hour with Rachel & Ali podcast, he elaborates upon how much he would have liked it to have been him. “I was 100% in talks to be the next Bachelor,” Mike reveals for the first time, having previously claimed to have not been in talks. He admits that, because of this deception, “People probably didn’t think I was considered to be the Bachelor.” Mike explains that he denied being in talks “because I was trying to be so respectful of the crew at Bachelor world.” “And,” he reasons. “I didn’t want to speak about it.” “Even when I went on TV. I thought that was being extremely respectful and a gentlemen of me to the Bachelor world,” Mike says. Oh, he absolutely was. “And Peter didn’t do those interviews,” he acknowledges. “So he didn’t have to go through that.” “I 100% wanted to be the Bachelor,” Mike emphasizes. And he tells th eworld exactly why. He explains: “Reasons being: One, I do want to find a wife.” Mike then adds: “Two, it was bigger than me and I wanted to represent for all people of color.” “Talking about people of color,” Mike continues, pointing out that the black community is not the only minority underrepresented on the show. Having more than twenty seasons but zero black men isn’t a coincidence, but there’s more to it than anti-blackness. “They need to have an Asian Bachelor, they need to have an Indian Bachelor,” he correctly expressed. Mike added: “They need to have other people outside of just black and white.” He also goes into detail about how far along, how prepared, he was. “I had a list of — a Word document — of the type of woman I wanted, what I was scared of, what I wasn’t scared of,” Mike reveals. Mike makes it clear that, as important as representation is, he’s not bitter. “They chose the right person for what they want,” Mike expresses. “And there’s nothing wrong with that at all,” he emphasizes. Mike admits: “When I first found out, I’m not gonna lie, I was sad. I was annoyed when I very first found out.” “But then by the end of the night, I wasn’t annoyed no more,” he shares. Mike explains: “because I was appreciative and thankful that they told me ‘no’ right then and there, because now I could focus on myself.” We can understand why he would have felt annoyed. Not only did ABC and producers skip over yet another black candidate for leading man, but Mike must have felt strung along. Hopefully, his date with Demi Lovato soothed some of that hurt. Unfortunately, as long as a chunk of Bachelor fans decide to tune out when the lead is black — as they did in Rachel’s season — producers may still make the same choices. Janeé Bolden: How you decided who to actually feature on the show?(Henson, Shahidi, Reid, Duvernay, Lathan and the Hills all make appearances, while some clients were mentioned via photos or video b-roll) Jason Bolden: It was the middle of the awards season and a lot of people were working or traveling, so a lot of it was the people who had a window of time and were available. Everything was happening in real time. Seeing Taraji the day of the Emmys was happening in real time. Adair: In the beginning, and even up until we started doing press, it’s always in the back of your mind, you’re cognizant of it, that it is not often that you see yourself represented, or scenarios of people who look like you so much or have backgrounds like you, so much. So it was important to us to be portrayed in our truest form, in our truest light and to give audiences a glimpse of what our life is like. We’re just like everyone else. Janeé: Yes you are, but way more fabulous! Better access, better cars, way cuter dog, way more access to dope closets and interiors as well. All that aside, you’re both very busy… How did you make time for production? Video production is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a production… That part didn’t get frustrating at all? Adair: Yeah that part was hard. It was something we had to adjust to, because our work schedules are very hectic and we work around the clock. Sometimes I had to film by myself because Jason was working, he had to be on location somewhere or on a set with somebody or at a fitting. And then even vice versa. Jason had to film while I was at a site meeting or I may have been in meetings or designing … It was something we had to adjust to but the family just got used to it. Janeé: If you guys get to do another season, and I hope you do, will we get to see more of your job Adair? I feel like the Hill house took up the bulk of the season in terms of what we saw of your work. We saw Sanaa’s Air BnB, we saw you furniture shopping with Gabrielle Union, but outside of that we saw a lot of Jason during awards season. Adair: Yeah it’s hard to please everybody the crazy thing, or the factual thing about interiors is that things take a long time. Renovations take a long time. While Jason could outfit someone quickly and you can get this on film quickly, we can start a renovation in December and not finish until the next December and when you have a window to fit something in that’s what you do. If we get a second season. we will show the interior work, because Jason is involved in that too and you don’t get to see that so much. Our dynamic of how we work together on interiors.
