The Running Man: Abel Ferrara on 4:44, Staying Busy and Bad Lieutenant at 20

I met Abel Ferrara in a café on Mulberry Street. In an hour’s time, he didn’t once take his seat. The filmmaker makes a couple of phone calls, goes to the bathroom twice, shows me the new Web series that he’s developing with Vice TV on, and points me to two different articles about his movies. Unkempt and energetic, the Bronx-born director of such New York notorieties as Ms. 45 , King of New York , Bad Lieutenant , The Funeral and this week’s 4:44 Last Day on Earth is exactly what you’d imagine he’d be like if he were one of his movie’s characters. In a way, he is. 4:44 features Willem Dafoe and Shanyn Leigh as a couple spending their last hours together before the world ends. They’re each in their own separate but related worlds: she paints and listens to Buddhist philosophy while he talks to friends via Skype and decides if he should end two years of sobriety by getting high one last time. The loose nature of 4:44 ’s scenario speaks to the Cassavetes-inspired, improv-oriented nature of Ferrara’s dramas, which are often collaborative processes between actor and filmmaker. This is especially characteristic of Ferrara’s working relationship with Dafoe. “If Willem wasn’t going to play it,” Ferrara told me, “I don’t think I would have wrote the script.” The film marks Ferrara and Dafoe’s third film together, coming after 1998’s New Rose Hotel and the 2007 ensemble piece Go Go Tales (which itself almost became a series on HBO). But more importantly, 4:44 further refines a working relationship that involves Dafoe co-creating not only his character, but also the scenes that, as Ferrara tells it, the actor is “comfortable with, that he believes in, that he understands.” “[We have] confidence with each other that comes from working together,” Ferrara continued. “I wrote the character so that the character I wrote is something he can play. And then, to create a stage for him, a place where he’s going to act, a set, which is a place that’s going to be conducive for him to do his best work. There’s nothing throwing him off…” Paradoxically or not, Ferrara then interrupted himself to perform one of a seemingly Herculean list of multi-tasks. Ultimately, performance is key to Ferrara’s movies because his characters are always performing for each other. They change in almost every scene they’re in, keeping the films that contain them endlessly revelatory, even shocking. Take Bad Lieutenant , which this year celebrates its 20th anniversary of Harvey Keitel’s searing work as a sex-, drug- and gambling-addicted cop seeking both vengeance and kicks as he pursues the men who sexually assaulted a nun. His detour into depravity culminates in an infamous scene where he pulls over two young women, making them simulate giving him oral sex while he masturbates. It’s the type of blunt-force intimacy that has preoccupied Ferrara all the way through 4:44 but arguably reached its flashpoint with the NC-17 Lieutenant . Two decades on, the 60-year-old director looks back on the controversy with similarly matter-of-fact zeal. “It had to be unrated,” he said. “It had to be rated X. It was the opposite: it couldn’t be rated R. We had to be what Hollywood couldn’t be. It was reverse censorship.” Not that he minds the continuing existence of an R-rated version necessitated by such once-powerful video chains as Blockbuster: “That’s just a joke; I’m not counting on anybody watching that.” The editing process is just another way Ferrara fulfills his all-encompassing role as director-cum-emcee. From early conception — “A script is not a piece of literature,” he explained, “it’s a process” — to post-production, Ferrara officiates over his films the way Ray Ruby, Dafoe’s hero from Go Go Tales , presides over his embattled burlesque dominion. He works with regular collaborators like cinematographer Ken Kelsch and production designer Frank DeCurtis to give his actors a proper setting. Then, led by their maestro, they all perform in front of and behind the camera together. But collaboration shouldn’t be mistaken for compromise, that ever-present threat to the natures of complex characters like Keitel’s Lieutenant and Dafoe’s Cisco and even to Ferrara’s singular vision itself. “There’s no such thing as a non-final cut director,” Ferrara said, R-rated Bad Lieutenant notwithstanding. “If you don’t have final cut, you’re not a director. There’s no point making a film. Citizen Kane is a masterpiece, but if I go into the editing room for three hours, I can change Citizen Kane .” Meanwhile, the endlessly moving Ferrara has more important projects than Citizen Kane to worry about: His own, including a planned take on the Dominique Strauss-Kahn case starring Gerard Depardieu — about which the filmmaker wishes to remain tight-lipped. “It takes six months to shoot a film,” he said. “We’re [always] perfecting what we’re doing.” Read Stephanie Zacharek’s review of 4:44 Last Day on Earth here . Simon Abrams is a NY-based freelance film critic whose work has been featured in outlets like The Village Voice, Time Out New York, Vulture and Esquire. Additionally, some people like his writing, which he collects at Extended Cut . [Top photo: Getty Images]

F—ed Up Fear ‘Tokio Hotel Zealots’ In Musical March Madness

Toronto band upset Mumford & Sons in round one and face Radiohead in round two; vote now in all second-round matchups! By James Montgomery F—ed Up’s Damian Abraham Photo: Getty Images Of all the first-round upsets in MTV’s Musical March Madness tournament (and there were a lot), none was as shocking as Toronto hardcore act F—ed Up’s trouncing of top-seeded — and heavily favored — Mumford & Sons. Except to F’ed frontman Damian “Pink Eyes” Abraham, that is. He saw this one coming from the day the bracket was revealed. “I think anyone who bet on them was a fool, because, let’s just be honest, if their fans were really living the Mumford & Sons way, they’re probably not the most technologically savvy individuals in the world,” he laughed. “It’s all based on, you know, the 1920s, so the Internet at that point was just a wireless typing device, and it takes a lot longer to spell out ‘Mumford & Sons’ in Morse code. How many dips and lines is that?” Vote for your favorite band, discuss and share on Facebook and Twitter in the MTV Musical March Madness interactive bracket! Of course, he was joking — he never really thought F—ed Up stood a chance against the mighty Mumford — though, as three years of Musical March Madness has proven, anything can happen. And as the first round wore on, and F’ed closed the gap, Abraham actually started believing. Even if he didn’t want to tell anyone. “Mumford & Sons have sold, conservatively, 100 times as many records as us; and they are a very popular band. … I mean, they’ve played with Bob Dylan. I thought it was a sure defeat,” he said. “I gotta admit, I really hate sports, but I think everyone at their core has a competitive nature, and as soon as I saw there was a glimmer of hope that we might win, it felt amazing. But, like, I didn’t want to start shouting, ‘We’re going to win!’ or anything, because I still wasn’t sure, you know? “And I’ll be honest: I never wanted to be in a really popular band,'” he continued. “So it really felt strangely touching, because it was like, ‘Wow, this many people cared enough to take time from looking at pornography to vote for me? That’s awesome.’ ” So now, having dispatched of Mumford, F—ed Up draw #8 Radiohead in round two — voting closes Sunday at midnight ET — with a spot in the Sweet 16 on the line. And, well, let’s just say Abraham isn’t confident about his band’s chances (“It’s like a commuter college taking on Duke,” he laughed). Though, as Sum 41 proved with their miracle run to the Elite Eight in last year’s MMM tourney, stranger things have happened. Vote for your favorite band, discuss and share on Facebook and Twitter in the MTV Musical March Madness interactive bracket! And if F—ed Up somehow manage to take down Radiohead, Abraham has already done some advanced scouting on his band’s next opponent, Tokio Hotel. And he’s sufficiently terrified, to say the very least. “This is a tournament that’s not going to get easier; it’s not like we’re going to get to the next round and find ourselves facing No Use for a Name. It’s just going to get worse as time goes on,” he said. “Mumford & Sons? That was just a taste of what’s to come; we’re dealing with people that have really, really rabid — to the point of being mentally unstable — fans now, and F—ed Up’s fans are just a bunch of nerds. We’re nothing against these Tokio Hotel zealots. I’m worried they’re going to firebomb my house or take out my knees.” MTV’s 2012 Musical March Madness tournament has reached the second round. Voting runs until midnight ET on Sunday, March 25, and winners are determined by fan votes, so if your favorite act is still alive, it’ll be up to you to guide them to glory. You can rally the troops on Twitter using the hashtag #MMM or by downloading one of our custom badges — but get ready, it only gets more difficult from here on out. Biggie’s Death Added ‘Emotions’ To Jay-Z’s Vol. 1

‘I don’t have anyone to bounce off of, you understand?’ Jay told MTV News a year after Notorious B.I.G.’s fatal shooting. By Rob Markman, with reporting by Nina Diaz Notorious B.I.G. Photo: Bad Boy The Notorious B.I.G.’s death hit the entire hip-hop community hard. Family, friends and fans mourned when Biggie died March 9, 1997. His children lost a father, his mother lost a son and the rap world lost one of the all-time greats. Big’s friends and collaborators were affected too. In a 1998 interview with MTV News, Jay-Z talked about how Biggie’s tragic death weighed on him and ultimately changed the course of his sophomore album, In My Lifetime, Vol. 1. “A lot of different songs were influenced by what was happening. ‘City Is Mine,’ the first verse, you could just hear it. I think two hooks on there came from songs that he had previously recorded,” Jay said of the LP that he dropped eight months after his friend passed away. Vol. 1 ‘s “City Is Mine” served as a letter to the deceased. On the song’s first verse, Jay raps, “What the deal, playboy? Just rest your soul.” From there, Jay vows that “a world with amnesia” wouldn’t forget Biggie’s name, and then he proceeded to take Big’s reins as the rap king of New York. Though there were some bright moments on Jay’s first Def Jam release, songs like the Kraftwerk-sampling “(Always Be My) Sunshine” were few and far between. Jay’s experience in the studio was different from when he crafted his 1996 debut, when he had B.I.G. to help push his artistic boundaries. “The album to me — this album wasn’t fun to me like Reasonable Doubt, because it was like, it seemed really slow to me, and I didn’t set out to do that, just looking back now and listening to it now,” he said somberly in the 1998 interview. Big wasn’t physically in the studio; Jay revealed that the only song the Brooklyn Don got to hear and give feedback on from Vol. 1 was the dark and brooding “Streets Is Watching.” Still, Big was well-represented on the album. Aside from “City Is Mine,” Big got a special shout-out on “Friend or Foe ’98,” when Hov famously offered to throw some ice up to heaven for “the nicest MC.” Jay also recycled Biggie’s rhymes on the hooks to “Face Off” and “Real N—az.” The Sauce Money-assisted “Face Off” borrowed its chorus from Biggie’s intro ad libs on his 1997 album cut “Nasty Boy,” and “Real N—az” got its hook from a freestyle B.I.G. did over a string of Dr. Dre instrumentals before he passed. Then there was the melancholy “Lucky Me,” on which Jay briefly speculated on his own death and questioned if fame was all that it was cracked up to be. “There’s a lot of emotions on the album, and that was definitely influenced by what was goin’ on and what had happened,” Jay-Z said. On Wednesday’s “RapFix Live,” Lil’ Kim spoke on the Notorious One’s relationship with Jigga . “He and Jay-Z just had this adorable friendship — it was the cutest,” she said. “They were so competitive with each other, but it was such a friendly competitiveness, and I loved it, because that’s how it’s supposed to be when you like somebody.” When B.I.G. passed, that friendly competition was lost. “I don’t have anyone to bounce off of, you understand? We bounced off each other like, ‘Oh that was crazy; I gotta make something crazier.’ When you don’t have that, you don’t have that gauge,” Jay said. “It’s just hard to adjust; you have to find other ways to motivate yourself.” Hov seems to have adjusted just fine. When Biggie died in 1997, Jay only had one album under his belt and was on his way to releasing his second. Now, 15 years later, Jay has built a career that is unmatched with 11 solo albums and a number of collaborative releases with R. Kelly, Linkin Park and Kanye West. But back in 1998, Jay could only use one word to describe Big’s legacy: “Unparalleled. There’ll never be another person to come along to fill that void.” Join MTV News as we celebrate the Notorious B.I.G’s life on the 15th anniversary of his death. From now through March 25, we will be rolling out exclusive and commemorative content from Biggie’s closest friends, collaborators and biggest fans. Foo Fighters, Mumford & Sons Top MTV’s Musical March Madness

Evanescence and the Black Keys also grab #1 seeds in MMM 2012. Vote for your favorites now! By James Montgomery Photo: MTV News It’s back! MTV’s third annual Musical March Madness tips off today (March 12), pitting the 64 bands that matter most against each other in a bracket-battle to the death (OK, no one actually dies, but we’re rolling here). And like in previous years, your votes determine who advances on — and who will ultimately hoist the big gold trophy when the tournament ends April 3. Can Green Day repeat as MMM champs? Will perennial powerhouses My Chemical Romance, 30 Seconds to Mars and Paramore finally make it to the top of the mountain? Or will 2012 bring us another unheralded winner, a la Coheed and Cambria in 2010 ? All of these questions — and more — will be answered in the coming weeks, as the drama and majesty that is Musical March Madness plays out before our very eyes. But enough hyperbole — let’s get to the action! Voting in all first-round matchups is now live in our interactive bracket, and runs until midnight ET Sunday. You can help your favorite band advance by downloading one of our MMM badges below (they look smashing on any social profile), or by spreading the word via Twitter, using the hashtag #MMM . Who will reign supreme? Well, it’s up to you. But let’s take a look at the 64 bands that will compete for the 2012 MMM title! The #1 Seeds The Black Keys: Riding high thanks to back-to-back breakout albums and a sold-out U.S. arena tour, the Keys nab the top seed in the always-competitive Midwest region. Will playing close to their spiritual home of Akron, Ohio, be enough to guide the dynamic duo all the way to the Final Four? They’ll have their work cut out for them, but with their bruising inside-out game and rebound-grabbing prowess (Carney’s height advantage makes him a beast on the boards), they’re poised for a deep tournament run. The Foo Fighters: They grabbed a #1 last year, based on the power and prowl of their Wasting Light album, but were upset in the second round by Disturbed. Now they’re back, with an armload of Grammys and a desire for revenge. Can the Foos run the table in the very dangerous West region? We wouldn’t bet against them, especially given the veteran leadership of floor general Dave Grohl, the man who makes it all happen. He’s like Tyshawn Taylor, only with facial hair. Mumford & Sons: Newcomers to the MMM tourney, Mumford grab the #1 seed in the erudite East region, thanks to the continued success of their Sigh No More album (2011’s best-selling rock album, btw). Sure, they might not be battle-tested, but their combination of speed and strength — and bluegrass leanings — remind us a lot of the Kentucky Wildcats, which could mean they’re bound for greatness this year. As an added bonus, a MMM championship would make for the first time the name “Country Winston Marshall” has ever been engraved on a trophy of any sort. Evanescence: They roared back from a lengthy hiatus with a chart-topping album and a worldwide tour, both of which earn them the top spot in the South region. They’ve shaken off the rust and appear primed for MMM dominance — especially since their global fanbase will be able to vote. Amy Lee is always a threat from behind the arch, but the band’s true strength might lie in man-mountain Terry Balsamo, who can take anybody to the hole. The rare band to combine power and finesse, Evanescence might very well be the team to beat in 2012. Vote for your favorite band, discuss and share on Facebook and Twitter in the MTV Musical March Madness interactive bracket! Midwest The meaty Midwest gets a bracket brimming with meat-and-potatoes rock, topped by the aforementioned Black Keys and bolstered by the likes of #6 Kid Rock, #8 Nickelback, #11 Chevelle and #14 Five Finger Death Punch. The pride of Wisconsin, Bon Iver, is in as the #2, though he faces a tough opening-round opponent in 15th-seeded Sum 41, who shocked the world with their run to the Elite 8 last year. And speaking of previous tourneys, My Chemical Romance — the only band to make the Final Four twice — are in as the #5, and based on their past successes, they might be the team to beat. Also, the Metallica/Guns N’ Roses first-round tilt is sure to be one for the ages. Here’s a look at the opening matchups: (Click the artist name to download their official MMM badge.) (1) Black Keys vs. (16) AWOLNATION (2) Bon Iver vs. (15) Sum 41 (3) Pearl Jam vs. (14) Five Finger Death Punch (4) U2 vs. (13) Modest Mouse (5) My Chemical Romance vs. (12) Death Cab For Cutie (6) Kid Rock vs. (11) Chevelle (7) Metallica vs. (10) Guns N’ Roses (8) Nickelback vs. (9) Rise Against! West For the third year running, the West is most definitely the best — bracket, that is. The Foos sit atop a positively loaded field, with established acts like last year’s champs, Green Day, #2 Red Hot Chili Peppers, #3 Blink-182 and #4 Maroon 5, and a host of hotly tipped newcomers, including #6 Foster the People, #8 Best Coast and #13 Lana Del Rey. Plus Van Halen and No Doubt. We wouldn’t discount 15th-seeded Panic! at the Disco (Elite 8 the two previous years) or tourney-tested Adam Lambert, either. If you’re looking for a dark-horse pick, our money’s on Skrillex, who might not technically rock, but used to front From First to Last, and based on his thunderous live sets, definitely knows how to move folks. The first-round matchups are: (Click the artist name to download their official MMM badge.) (1) Foo Fighters vs. (16) James Durbin (2) Red Hot Chili Peppers vs. (15) Panic! at the Disco (3) Blink-182 vs. (14) Korn (4) Maroon 5 vs. (13) Lana Del Rey (5) Green Day vs. (12) the Decemberists (6) Foster the People vs. (11) Adam Lambert (7) Van Halen vs. (10) No Doubt (8) Best Coast vs. (9) Skrillex East Once again home to both beard-scratchers and fist-pumpers, the East is truly up for grabs. Like we said, Mumford are MMM virgins, and #2 Coldplay have made the tourney twice before, but never got past the second round. The same can be said for perennial MMM underachievers Arcade Fire, who nab a #5 seed, but seem destined for a first-round exit at the hands of tourney powerhouse Tokio Hotel. Also wading into the chaos are #3 Florence and the Machine, #4 Muse and #8 Radiohead, who will battle #9 Bruce Springsteen in the first round. This one might come down to an Elite 8 showdown between Tokio and 2010 champs Coheed and Cambria — then again, we wouldn’t discount the power of Lady Gaga’s Little Monsters, who might help carry Semi Precious Weapons to victory. This region is anyone’s guess, really. The opening matchups are: (Click the artist name to download their official MMM badge.) (1) Mumford & Sons vs. (16) F–ked Up (2) Coldplay vs. (15) Arctic Monkeys (3) Florence and the Machine vs. (14) Refused (4) Muse vs. (13) Gym Class Heroes (5) Arcade Fire vs. (12) Tokio Hotel (6) Fun. vs. (11) Semi Precious Weapons (7) The Shins vs. (10) Coheed and Cambria (8) Radiohead vs. (9) Bruce Springsteen South There’s plenty of home-grown talent on display in the always-treacherous South, topped by Evanescence, #2 Paramore (last year’s MMM runners up) and the third-seeded Kings of Leon. For the second time in three years, My Morning Jacket and the Dave Matthews Band will go head-to-head in the opening round, in what’s sure to be a Birkenstock-burner. Fourth-seeded Jack White draws a tough opponent in #13 Shinedown, and we genuinely have no idea who wins the 7-10 Cage the Elephant/Ke$ha tilt. Also showing up in the South are powerhouses 30 Seconds to Mars and Linkin Park, both of whom are looking to finally make good on previous tournament promises. Will 2012 be their year? Here’s a breakdown of round one: (Click the artist name to download their official MMM badge.) (1) Evanescence vs. (16) Alabama Shakes (2) Paramore vs. (15) Gotye (3) Kings of Leon vs. (14) Phoenix (4) Jack White vs. (13) Shinedown (5) Linkin Park vs. (12) At The Drive In (6) 30 Seconds To Mars vs. (11) Sleigh Bells (7) Cage The Elephant vs. (10) Ke$ha (8) My Morning Jacket vs. (9) Dave Matthews Band MTV’s 2012 Musical March Madness Tournament is underway! Voting in the first round runs until midnight ET on Sunday, March 18, and winners are determined by fan votes, so if your favorite act made the cut, it’ll be up to you to guide them to glory. You can rally the troops on Twitter using the hashtag #MMM or by downloading one of our custom badges — but get ready, it’s gonna be a war. Related Videos Get Ready For Musical March Madness! My name’s Shereen, I’m 18 years old and I’m…

My name’s Shereen, I’m 18 years old and I’m from South Florida. I’ve been a fan since the summer of 2009, and ever since then it’s been my biggest dream to meet Justin Bieber. I’ve read so many stories from other people about meeting Justin and I NEVER in a million years thought I’d be writing this. But my dreams came true on February 1, 2012 and February 5,2012. On January 30th 2012, I saw statuses on Facebook and all over Twitter that Justin was in Miami. I didn’t think too much of it because I thought it would be IMPOSSIBLE to meet him. I’ve tried so many times and always failed, so I just kind of gave up hope. The next day I went on Facebook and saw that my friend had met Justin at his recording studio and I was freaking out! I asked her how she met him and she told me she went to the studio he was recording at and he came over and met the fans waiting. I texted my friend Kari and told her, and we decided to go the next day to try and meet him. Kari picked me up from school as soon as I got we ran to my house to get a few things and then made the hour drive down to Miami. We got there at around 5:30pm and we were the only 2 people there for 2 hours and it wasn’t a good area so we just sat in Kari’s car. At around 7:30pm more people started showing up so we all went and stood by the gate. We stood there for about an hour and kept seeing tons of cars pulling up, but none were Justin. Finally at around 8:30ish we see a car pull up and Moshe was driving! We all start freaking out because we know Justin was inside there! At this point, there were only 10 girls. Justin got out of the car and we all said “Hi” to him, and he says hi back, waves and walks inside. I was kind of dissapointed because I thought he wasn’t going to come back out until later, and I had to leave at 11. But then about 2 minutes later Justin, Alfredo, and Moshe are walking out of the studio and over to us. He said “Hello” to all of us and asked us how we were doing as he touched our hands, then he got to me and GRABBED MY HAND and said “It’s nice to meet you.” I don’t even remember what I said back. After he said hello to all of us, he had his hands in his pockets and was looking down at the floor asking us how we knew he would be at the studio. He was being so shy and it was so cute. He told us we were gonna take a group picture and Justin, Alfredo, and Moshe took our cameras. Justin stood right in front of me for the picture so I had to stand up on the fence to make sure I was in the picture. After that he turned around and talked to us a little more and then the gate was opening and he was about to get hit so Kari said, “Watch out Justin!” and he backed up and then ran and hid behind a car, by the time the gate opened again he was walking in to the studio. Alfredo came back over to us and returned our cameras. We took pictures with him and talked to him for a while. More and more girls started showing up after that and later we got to watch Justin skateboard . Soon, the cops showed up so Kari and I decided to go home. The next day our picture was all over the news, tumblr, and twitter. Then JUSTIN BIEBER TWEETED THE PICTURE AND CALLED US FAMILY . I was freaking out! Justin had called me family and actually seen the picture of us together! Everyone at school was asking me how I met Justin it was crazy! Then, on Saturday February 4th, 2012 we decided to go back down to Miami to look for Justin so our friend Ashley could meet him. We got down to the studio at around 3 pm, but the studio was closed so we decided to go down to the hotel we heard he was staying at. We went there until 6:30 but had no luck finding him. At around 7 we got back to the studio and there was about 6 girls there. We left at 8 because Ashley had to be back home at 9. After we dropped her off we made our way back to the studio. We got back to the studio at around 9:30 and there was at least 200 girls there now. We saw a black escalade inside the gates and knew it was Justin. We had to crawl through a bush in able to get near the gate. We saw Justin sitting in the car and Alfredo sleeping in the back, then Justin crawled in to the studio. At around 12:30 am on February 5th, we saw them pull Justin’s car up right next to the front door. They had the door of the studio open and the door to the car open, and we were all afraid he was gonna dip. My friend and I saw him get into the car, I’m not one to shriek and I don’t know why but I just scremed “Justin!” Then all the girls started screaming and then Justin got out of the car and started walking over to the side of the gate I was at. He pulled out a sharpie and began signing things. He came over to me and my friend, and signed my CD, and her Miami Dolphins jersey that says “BIEBER” on the back with the number 6. We weren’t able to get a picture with him, but we are so thankful to be able to meet him again. I hope this shows all of you out there who haven’t met him yet that your day will come! I still can’t believe this happened to me, but as Justin says “Never Say Never!”  -Shreen See the article here: My name’s Shereen, I’m 18 years old and I’m…

Chris Brown, Meek Mill Crash Travis Porter’s ‘Ayy Ladies’ Video

‘Chris Brown, that was like our second to third meeting with Chris Brown … but he just came through,’ Quez says of Breezy’s cameo. By Rob Markman Travis Porter’s Ali and Quez Photo: MTV News Ain’t no party like a Travis Porter party. When Ali, Quez and Strap were on the set for their “Ayy Ladies” video, Tyga, who appears on the track, was the only expected guest star. But when Meek Mill and Chris Brown also showed up, the good times began to roll. “They the homeys, they just fell through,” Ali told MTV News of Meek’s and Breezy’s unexpected cameos. TP premiered their video on MTV Jams last Thursday and currently have the “Jam of the Week” in rotation. The Alex Nazari-directed clip is a ton of fun as the trio roam the halls of their hotel looking to score with the ladies. “It’s the ultimate spring break. Travis Porter took over the whole hotel, ladies everywhere,” Nazari described in a preview clip that TP released online last month. “Chris Brown, that was like our second to third meeting with Chris Brown though, but he just came through,” Quez said. “He was like, ‘I rock with y’all n—as, I like the song.” Most artists would take the opportunity to finagle a feature, but for Travis Porter, their bond with Brown is more important than a collaboration. They’d rather just let things flow naturally. “We get cool, have a couple drinks, you know, smoke a little bit,” Quez said. Do you think Travis Porter and Chris Brown should collaborate? More than three years after she accepted boyfriend David Otunga’s proposal, Jennifer Hudson is moving full speed ahead with their dream wedding. The nuptials will take place later this year in Chicago, her hometown, an insider tells Star. “Jennifer loves spending time downtown. I wouldn’t be surprised if she had it in the heart of the city,” says the insider. “There will be around 500 guests. She feels she deserves to have a big, gorgeous wedding, since she’s waited for so long. She’s giddy with excitement!” The 30-year-old Dreamgirls Oscar winner and WWE star David, 31, delayed the nuptials after the murders of her mother, brother and nephew in October 2008. The Hudson family is still suffering through an agonizing trial. And Jennifer may honor her loved ones’ memories by holding the ceremony at the Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago, where Donald Trump graciously accommodated her relatives during the funerals, the insider explains. “It’s a warm spot for her.” Congrats to them.
