At this year’s National Urban League Conference in Indiana several Democratic Presidential Candidates were in attendance. Each candidate present, was allowed to speak directly to voters and address their plans if elected in 2020. Those candidates included Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg, Ami Horowitz and Kirsten Gillibrand. See what each candidate had to say. Kamala Harris Senator, Kamala Harris’ campaign slogan is “for the people.” In 2016, she became the second African American woman in history to be elected to the U.S. Senate, and the first African American and first woman to serve as Attorney General of the state of California. She plans to restore justice in America and build an economy that works for everyone. Pete Buttigieg Mayor of South Ben, Indiana and former lieutenant in the U.S. Navy Reserve, Pete Bittigieg has been serving as Mayor of Indiana since 2012. He has made it his responsibility to make every resident of South Bend feel included and safe. He wants to build an America where everyone has the chance to find purpose and belonging in the economy and the country. Ami Horowitz Ami Horowitz is a documentary filmmaker. Now, he is looking to become the next President of The United States. He is the writer, producer, and director of Ami on the Streets, a short film series produced for Fox News. He says, “I believe in country over party.” Kirsten Gillibrand In 2006, Kirsten Gillibrand, ran for the House of Representatives in New York and won. She became the first Democrat to to represent the district in almost in nearly 30 years. In 2009 she was appointed to Senate. In more recent years she has been known for #Metoo advocacy and speaking on the power of women. If you’ve been watching the new season of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation , then you know that Mike Sorrentino’s prison sentence is looming like a dark cloud over the fist-pumping shenanigans of our favorite guidos. (Of course, Ronnie’s relationship with Jen Harley, Jenni’s divorce from Roger Mathews and a whole lot of other bad juju is also spoiling the party. We’re beginning to think this “adulthood” business isn’t all it’s cracked up to be!) And if you’ve been watching the new season of Orange Is the New Black, you know that life after prison presents its own unique challenges. So what does a long-running MTV reality series have to do with a long-running Netflix dramedy? Well, if you’re The Situation, it may be a good idea to figure out some way to stream the latter — and take copious notes. Sorrentino has been in prison since January, and he’s reportedly scheduled for release sometime in the next few weeks. Unfortunately, he won’t be returning home to his new wife Lauren Pesce — at least not yet. Sorrentino will be finishing out his sentence in a halfway house — and we think it’s safe to say his Shore buddies won’t be showing up to party with him dude ranch-style. “Mike is getting released to a federal halfway house and there is no partying or drinking allowed,” inmate-turned-author Dan Wise tells Radar Online. “After serving a month or so in a halfway house, he will transition to home confinement, possibly for the last two weeks of his sentence.” Wise says Sorrentino will be free to visit Lauren at the couple’s home, but while he’s staying at the halfway house, the rules will be almost as strict as they were in prison. “At that point, there will still be no drinking, or substances allowed, and there will be strict drug testing,” Wise claims. “This will last until his actual release date in September. Then he will start his supervised release, which is similar to probation.” A formerly hard-partying reality star who just did eight months behind bars will now be forced to pee in a cup on a weekly basis? Sounds like a recipe for disaster. Or at least it would — if this weren’t the new and improved Big Daddy Sitch we’re talking about. Sorrentino has been sober for over three years, and at this point, it seems his only remaining vice is carbs. And he credits Lauren and his Shore family for helping stay on the straight and narrow. “Any substance I was going to do to excess, what you have to do is change your behaviors from negative ones to positive ones, slowly one day at a time,” Mike said in a recent interview. It’s a shame that his reformation came too late to save him from doing time. But we’re sure Mike is well aware of how much he has to lose if he messes up again. There was a time when it would’ve only said this as a joke — but it’ll be good to have The Situation back. According to The Blast , Gucci and Sheena Evans have finally come to an agreement. The 39-year-old rapper has agreed to contribute $10,000 a month towards supporting their son. According to the report, the parents were in court Friday for a hearing in their case. The two informed the judge they had a settlement privately and it was approved by the court. Along with the monthly agreement, Gucci will also make a six-figure payment to cover back child support. He will receive visitation and Evans will continue to have primary custody. A 5-year-old kid was out here saving lives and acknowledging his brilliance. According to Fox 32 , Jayden Espinosa was staying at his aunt’s home in Chicago with his two sisters when a fire broke out in the early morning. Everyone in the house was asleep, except Jayden, according to his mom Tracey Espinosa. “I smelled the smoke and I got up and went outside,” Jayden said. Apparently, the fire alarm had malfunctioned so Jayden had to spring into action. This is when he rushed to tell his aunt and everyone inside his home to get out. He didn’t just notify his family either. The home was a duplex, so there were neighbors downstairs asleep as well. Jayden ran to their unit to tell them about the fire, totaling the lives he saved to 13 people. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but The American Red Cross was able to aid Jayden’s aunt and cousins. When Jayden was asked how he knew what to do about the fire, his response was simple: “Because I’m smart and brilliant.” Okurrr! During a recent congressional hearing, Cummings blasted acting Homeland Security Secretary Kevin McAleenan about border conditions and asked if the department has an “empathy deficit,” pointing out that children at the border are “sitting in their own feces” and being treated as less than human beings. That apparently set Trump off and he went on a lengthy rant aimed at Cummings and the city of Baltimore. This Is Us is one of the most popular shows on the air. It's one of few shows that can simultaneously makes audiences laugh and cry. Indeed, a series that follows a family over various decades may sound boring, but This Is Us has already proven to have staying power — it's been renewed for the next THREE seasons! As we look ahead to the show's fourth season, we've rounded up all of the information we know about it below. Oh, yeah: SPOILER ALERT!!!!!! 1. What the Eff is Going on with Rebecca? This Is Us Season 3 concluded with an elderly Rebecca in a bad way. She was not recognizing her son, Randall, leading to concerns from fans that she was about to die. “Possibly this is someone near the end of their life experiencing a lack of awareness and confusion that comes with extreme old age,” showrunner, Elizabeth Berger tells Glamour. 2. Rebecca Is Probably About to Die The beauty of This Is Us spanning decades is that even if Rebecca dies in the future, Mandy Moore will remain part of the series. “I think it definitely feels like Rebecca is very near the end of her life and that her passing is imminent, and that’s why everyone has decided to descend upon Kevin’s house,” showrunner Isaac Aptaker said. 3. Nicky Changes His Ways Nicky’s life was all over the place during the show’s third season. The family tried to help him get sober to give him the best quality of life. Things took a turn when it was revealed that he had changed int he future and was right by Rebecca’s side. “We’re seeing a guy in a better place than when we last left him,” Aptaker says. “The fact that he aged really well shows he’s in a much better place mentally and physically than when we left him in that trailer.” 4. Miguel is MIA (For Now) Miguel was ominously missing from the flash-forward, but don’t expect his fate to be revealed during This Is Us Season 4. His fate will not be revealed until This Is Us Season 5 or 6. Yikes. 5. Melanie Liburd as Kim – This Is Us It was reported following the third season finale that Melanie Liburd was bowing out as a series regular, but her storyline is not over. “We love writing for her, so we’re always going to be looking for ways to bring her back into the story and into the fold,” Aptaker says. “But we will not be watching week-to-week storylines between her and Kevin next year.” That makes sense given that she and Kevin broke up. 6. Is Kate Dead or Alive? Kate’s fate has been the topic of many conversations among fans, but we may be waiting a while for answers. “I think it’s wide open at this point what has become of Kate,” Berger says. “I can’t promise next season,” Aptaker says. “But we know that in terms of the rank of people’s burning questions, that one is probably working its way up there. Shannon Beador has officially moved on from one of the messier divorces in recent Hollywood history . And not only that, but the Real Housewives of Orange County cast member has moved right into the arms of a very attractive new suitor. According to People Magazine, Beador is now dating a fellow California native named John Janssen. He’s a divorced father of three who graduated years ago from the University of Southern California. Janssen is 56 years old, met Beador through a mutual friend and he works as a partner at an insurance firm. “Shannon’s really happy,” a source close to the couple tells this publication , adding of her new lover: “He’s a great guy, and really adores her. And she is equally smitten. They make a great couple together and have been having a lot of fun.” Just how serious is this romance? It’s a bit too early to say for certain, but both sides have met the other’s kids — which is obviously a pretty huge deal in the world of dating and relationships. “The girls really like him,” the insider says of Shannon’s three daughters: Sophie, 18, and twins Stella and Adeline, 15. This past Tuesday, as you can see above, Shannon posed on Instagram with Janssen, sharing a smiling photo of the two during a night out in Newport Beach. It’s been quite a journey for Beador to arrive at this happy place in her personal life. Shannon and ex-husband David Beador broke up in September 2017 after over 17 years of marriage; she then filed to end their marriage in December of this same year. Accusations of infidelity were subsequently hurled back and forth by both Shannon and David, with the former admitting she gained forty pounds due to stress from the marriage and then the split. She said many times that David checked out of the relationship as soon as her body started to change. Finally, after a year and a half of ugly allegations, the reality stars settled their divorce in April — he agreed to pay her $1.4 million . They also agreed to joint legal and physical custody of their daughters. The Real Housewives of Orange County kicks off season 14 on in August 6 at 9/8c on Bravo. Beador has already said that she’s back to her original weight and focused on the return of “Fun Shannon,” to use her own words.
