Big Freedia Granted Probation In Welfare Fraud Case Big Freedia narrowly missed bouncing to the big house over Section 8 fraud. After months of drug rehab for marijuana and even a stint in a halfway home over probation violation, it wasn’t looking too good for the Queen of Bounce. However, the judge has ruled that the bounce star will only serve three years’ probation and pay a $35,000 fine. Via New Orleans Advocate : Africk placed the entertainer on probation for three years, ordered her to pay a $35,000 fine and warned Big Freedia, 38, to avoid a relapse into substance abuse. “Please do not mistake kindness for weakness,” the judge said. “You have the advantage of not only keeping yourself healthy and unaddicted but also acting as a role model for others.” Big Freedia, whose real name is Freddie Ross Jr., pleaded guilty in March to stealing nearly $35,000 in federal housing voucher money, admitting to fraudulently accepting Section 8 vouchers over a period of several years. In her first bid for Section 8 assistance, in March 2009, she listed a monthly income of between $100 and $1,000 and no additional assets. Even after she had become a star, propelled to fame by her reality TV show, she claimed to have earned just $12,000 in 2014 and to have only $250 in the bank. In fact, federal authorities said, Big Freedia had been earning money from performances and merchandising, in addition to her reality show. Among other accomplishments, she has starred in five seasons of the Fuse digital cable and satellite channel’s show “Big Freedia: Queen of Bounce.” Good for Freedia! She can keep the crowds twerking after all.

It is now legal for Justin Bieber to have sexual intercourse with Sofia Richie. The singer started to date the model earlier this month, going public with his relationship via a series of photos posted to Instagram after the couple traveled together to Tokyo. Social media immediately blew up upon seeing these pictures because, for starters, social media always blows up any time Justin Bieber has a new girlfriend. But there was a second reason why this romance has made an endless number of headlines: Because Richie was only 17 years old at the time she started dating Bieber. Justin is 22 and that difference just seems a bit icky to some critics. It also seems a bit illegal in some states, depending on whether or not Bieber and Richie have had sex. Richie, however, turns 18 years old today. And we think we know how she and Justin have been celebrating! (They probably had a lot of sex.) Bieber telling the world about Richie has created quite the $hitstorm, of course. Not long after sharing multiple snapshots of himself and Richie getting cozy in the backseat of a car, Bieber took to Instagram and issued a threat to his followers. Too many of them had said really cruel things to Richie online, forcing Justin to tell everyone to stop talking smack… or else he’d make his account private. “I’m gonna make my Instagram private if you guys don’t stop the hate this is getting out of hand,” Bieber captioned a photo of himself with Richie, adding: “If you guys are really fans you wouldn’t be so mean to people that I like.” This actually seemed like a pretty noble move in our eyes, as Bieber was standing up for his gal pal. But Selena Gomez took issue with it. She called out her ex-boyfriend for making his relationship public in the first place. She told him to keep his private life private , or accept the consequences. Either way, she argued, Bieber should never blame his fans for their passion. Following some back and forth between himself and Gomez, along with many comments left by fans of both singers, Bieber went one step further than making his Instagram account private. He actually deleted it entirely ! For once, it doesn’t seem like Bieber did much wrong. It’s totally inappropriate for anyone to say anything negative about Sofia Richie simply because she’s dating Justin Bieber. That’s absurd. And it’s a solid move by Bieber to call folks out for their ridiculous statements. Should he share certain photos on social media? Come on, everyone does that in this day and age. And there’s no way Selena would have anything bad to say about pictures Bieber shared of her if the two of them were dating. Gomez has since apologized for stirring up this mess, but sources say Bieber doesn’t want to hear it . In this clip from Sunday's Keeping Up with the Kardashians Season 12 Episode 15 , Kourtney Kardashian has a major decision to make. What will she do about Scott's birthday?!?!? In the teaser, the mother of three talks with Kris Jenner and sister Khloe Kardashian about attending Scott Disick's 33rd birthday party. For obvious reasons, she's conflicted about it. “Scott invited me to his birthday party in Las Vegas and I'm just not sure if I want to go,” Kourtney says in a confessional to the E! cameras. The Lord, she feels, might get the wrong idea.  “I'm so happy that Scott and I are getting along so well and that we're co-parenting, but I think hanging out with Scott without the kids …” Things are good right now as Kourt sees it, but everything is tenuous when it comes to Scott, so she's reluctant to rock the boat. Hanging out without the kids, she fears “Scott can just take any little thing and run with it and think that we are getting back together.” “Right now, I can't even wrap my head around that.” After all they've been through, who can blame her? The guy clearly hasn't established a track record of being stable when he's in a relationship, or making good on promises to get clean. Even though the kids would love it, and plenty of fans who loved them together might wonder why she doesn't just go for it, Kourt is realistic. “There's so much work that would be involved,” she says, after their breakup and the many low points that came before that. “I'm so not even there yet.” The pair officially ended their nine-year relationship in July 2015 after photos surfaced of Disick hanging out with Chloe Bartoli in France. Despite the heartbreak, Kardashian and Disick have admirably taken the high road, remained amicable and continue to be good friends. Or as close as you can be, in their situation. Relatively speaking, he's been on good, sober behavior – plenty of rumors will always follow Scott, but he's done nothing shady we know of. His struggles with sobriety and their impact on his life are well documented, but in fairness, he's been pretty much a model citizen lately. It shows, too, in the only way that really counts. Their three children Mason, 6, Penelope, 4, and Reign, 20 months, are all thriving, and both parents deserve credit for their role in that. Recently, all five went on vacation together. “[We ate], slept, relaxed, swam, drove around, saw the sights,” Disick said of the Nantucket trip he took with Kourt and the kids. “[We] checked out different restaurants,” he added. “Went to some candy stores for the kids. Overall, it was very, very relaxing.” And he got Kourtney Kardashian pregnant again . Just kidding! Maybe. That rumor never gets old. College Student Tries to Woo Woman, Gets Stuck in a Wall

We’ve all been there, haven’t we? You’ve had a lot to drink. You see a member of the opposite sex. You’d like to get the attention of this man or woman to maybe see if he or she would like to go home with you. Really, we’ve all been there, right? Probably. But very few of us have been HERE … On Monday night, an unnamed University of Pittsburgh student wanted to impress a woman he saw on Forbes Avenue. So he climbed to the roof of a building and tried to leap over to the roof of a nearby building… … only to fail miserably and actually get himself wedged between a Qdoba and a Bruegger’s Bagels. This is where he remained for four hours. “He didn’t quite achieve his goal. He missed and fell in between the buildings,” said Police Spokesperson Sonya Toler. The student was stuck in a 16-inch wide gap, three stories high, from approximately 2 a.m. through approximately 6 a.m. Police and rescue paramedics arrived at the scene not long after witnesses say the man plummet to his near-death. And total embarrassment. He was eventually broken free and taken to UPMC Presbyterian, where Toler said he was treated and will be just fine. Physically, that is. Mentally, we’d have to assume this is the sort of incident that remains with one for a very long time. To pry him loose from the gap, the Public safety department had to drill holes in three walls of the buildings, two of which were in Qdoba and one in the neighboring building. Chad Brooks, the franchise owner of all Qdobas in Pittsburgh, said the interior wall of his restaurant had to be taken down and rebuilt, but he wasn’t certain how much it would cost. The restaurant will be closed for at least a few weeks, yet Brooks said he was not looking to press charges against the man. So even though this idiot didn’t get lucky on Monday evening, he did end up getting lucky in the end. He could have died. He could be facing a lawsuit. And instead he just went home to the hospital alone.

It’s been over a year since Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner separated , and at the time they announced their split, few would’ve guessed that the estranged couple would go this long without either party filing for divorce. After all, rumors about Affleck and Garner divorcing circulated for several months before the actors made it official, and most insiders maintained that Jen had ample reason for wanting out. And yet 14 months later, no papers have been filed. Even more strange is the fact that Ben and Jen have been photographed together on numerous occasions since calling it quits on their marriage. So what gives? Well, accounts vary, but several sources maintain that shortly after agreeing to separate, both parties decided they wanted to give their marriage another shot. Or at least they did . According to Life & Style , Garner is planning to (finally) legally end her marriage after finally getting fed up with Affleck’s behavior. It seems the final straw came earlier this month: The tabloid claims that Garner and her kids went to “all out” for Affleck’s recent 44th birthday, decorating their backyard for a party and preparing his favorite dinner. Affleck reportedly never showed and blamed his absence on a work commitment. “She got in touch with her attorneys,” a source tells the mag. “She’s absolutely done with giving him any more chances. She’s getting revenge on Ben by going through with the divorce and moving on with her life.” The supposed insider added that Garner “wants Ben out of the house” and has informed that she’s “decided to finally file divorce papers.” Hmmm. We don’t want to say for certain that this story isn’t true, but there are some major holes in it. Not the least of which is that it’s already been widely reported that Affleck spent his birthday in Montana , camping with Garner and the couple’s three children. Lady Mary: Downton Abbey Creator Reveals What She’s Doing Now

After six successful season, Downton Abbey may be over, but that doesn’t mean its characters stopped existing. While series creator Julianne Fellowes prepares for the Emmy Awards ( Downton is nominated in two categories ), he spoke to Deadline Hollywood at The London Hotel in West Hollywood about the impact his show has had on the American audience. Fellowes is quite proud of the way he wrapped the British series.   Instead of leaving viewers hanging as he’s done in the past, Fellowes ended things on a high note. “I feel that if an audience has been loyal to you for six years, they deserve to go away from the last episode feeling good,” he said. “And Edith, especially, deserved a happy ending. I had teased people, with the end of the series before the Christmas special—with once again, it had all gone wrong. But it came right in the end, and I wanted her to outrank Mary.” Edith had fallen in love with a man who ended up inheriting a Marquess title from his late cousin, making Edith a Marchioness, which meant she ranked higher in the British aristocratic hierarchy than Mary, who was only a Lady. Don’t worry about Mary, though. “It’s never “poor Mary,” Fellowes insists. “She would survive the 1917 Revolution. She’d become a Commissar.” What sort of life does Fellowes’ leading lady live post- Downton ? “My own belief is that Mary, whether you like her or dislike her, is a hard worker, and she’s practical. I think she will employ the kind of advice that she needs,” Fellowes predicts. “She would probably have opened the house to the public in the 1960s, as so many of them did, and she’d have retreated to a wing, and maybe only occupied the whole house during the winter.” Many families with stately homes opted to open their doors to the public, treating the estate as a sort of museum.  The money raised from admission fees would then help to keep up with the costs of running a place such as Downton Abbey. “My own belief is the Crawleys would still be there, just as the Carnarvons are today [in the real Highclere Castle, where Downton was filmed],” Fellowes said. “George [Mary’s son] would have gone to the Second World War, and of course the fear is that he would be killed. “We know that Mary is pregnant, so there’s going to be another child. “As for the title, I don’t know where it would go beyond George, but let’s hope he gets through the war and has children of his own,” Fellowes continued. “George was born in 1921, which makes him nine years younger than my father, and he only died in 1999. If he lived to the same age as my father, he’d have died in 2008, which takes us right into the modern age.” Well, there’s seasons 7-10 right there.  Somewhere on the Highclere estate, Lady Mary’s great-great granddaughter is sneaking a cigarette with her equally naughty friends.   Downton Abbey Cast Performs Scene in American Accents
