Pastor Fired For Attending Rick Ross Concert Via Praise DC reports: AmericaPreachers.com reports that Pastor Rodney Wills was just about to reach 4 years at Mt. Salem Baptist Church. He is the youngest pastor to be installed at 26 years old and is now the shortest term pastor in Mt. Salem’s 109 year history. On Saturday, Mt. Salem voted him out for attending a local Rick Ross concert. With a vote of 11 to 3, the 14 deacons met at 11pm Saturday night to discuss and come to a conclusion that they did not need his services anymore. Rev. Wills arrived to the church the next day for Sunday morning worship service and notice his parking sign taken down and his name removed from the office door. The deacons even asked another minister from the community to officiate the service that morning. “We cannot have our leader supporting people of this world who are tearing down the kingdom of God.” said Deacon Miles Langley. According to Deacon Langley, this is not the first time Rev. Wills has attended a concert while pastoring Mt. Salem. 9 months ago the diaconate board met with Rev. Wills when word was given to them that many youth and young adults spotted the pastor at a Lil Wayne concert. “We know that many saints will have mixed opinions from our actions, but this is not how we do things here at Mt. Salem. We cannot have a pastor praising the world one minute then praising the Lord the next. Period” said Deacon Langley. Rick Ross recently made nationwide news when he was dropped from Reebok and other endorsements for lyrics advocating rape towards women. ”Put Molly all in her Champagne/ She ain’t even know it/ I took her home and I enjoyed that/ She ain’t even know it,” he raps on the track Do you think the pastor should have been fired? Get Well Soon! Usher’s Oldest Son Nearly Drowns After Accident In His Pool

We’re glad he’s okay but this must have been quite a scare… Usher’s oldest son is currently in the hospital recovering after a scary pool accident. Via TMZ reports : Usher’s son Usher Raymond V is in the ICU at an Atlanta hospital after a serious accident in the singer’s pool Monday, TMZ has learned. Sources tell TMZ, the accident occurred around 6 PM yesterday. Usher was not home at the time. Here’s what we know. The child was playing in the pool with his aunt and saw a toy in the drain. He dove down to get the toy and his arm got stuck in the drain. The aunt immediately dove in to the rescue him but couldn’t get his hand out. The maid then dove in and tried but was also unsuccessful. The maid screamed for help. Two men working in the house came out, dove in and freed the boy. He was given CPR immediately and rushed to the hospital. Usher arrived and drove in the ambulance with his son. 5-year-old Usher Raymond V is the oldest of Usher’s two sons with ex-wife Tameka Raymond. We’re told Usher and Tameka are currently at the hospital. Doctors have been running a series of tests and doctor’s say he’ll be ok. This is the second accident to strike children in Usher’s family. Tameka’s 11-year-old son Kile from a previous relationship passed away last year from injuries sustained during a jet ski accident. We’re definitely keeping Usher V in our thoughts and hope he makes a full and speedy recovery! Continue reading →

Even Al Roker can’t stand to watch The Today Show these days. With ratings for this NBC staple shrinking by the day, everyone’s favorite weatherman made history this morning: he overslept! Roker subsequently missed his “Wake Up with Al” segment on The Weather Channel, but made it to the Today set in time to be mocked by his co-anchors. Al Roker Explains Today Show Absence “After 39 years, it happened. I overslept and missed a show. Missed #WUWA. But will be on time for @today,” Tweeted an embarrassed Roker at 5:41 a.m. Of course, this is merely the second most embarrassment incident of Roker’s career. In January, he admitted to once pooping his pants at The White House. There’s also been chatter in the past that Roker is trying to sabotage Today, but if 5:41 a.m. is over -sleeping, we can likely cut the guy some slack.

Two-Year-Old Boy Who Served as Parents’ Best Man Dies

The mother of a terminally ill 2-year-old Pennsylvania boy who served as his parents’ best man at their wedding last weekend confirms that he has died. Christine Swidorsky Stevenson says on her Facebook page that little Logan Stevenson passed away in her arms at 8:18 p.m. Monday at their house. Christine and Sean Stevenson in Jeannette, about 25 miles east of Pittsburgh, and were married at their home with Logan as best man in the ceremony. A family spokeswoman, Sylvia Johnson, confirmed the boy’s death to the AP. His mother says on Facebook, “He is with angels and he’s in no more pain.” She posted that her son was doing poorly. His breathing was rapid, then slowed. After an exam, the mother was informed that he did not have much time. “Sean (his father) and I held him all day he was comfortable with his medication then at 8:18 my son took his last breath in my arms,” her post said. Christine Swidorsky and Sean Stevenson Wedding Young Logan stood with his grandmother, Debbie Stevenson, during a 12-minute wedding ceremony that united Logan’s mother and his father. After a whirlwind week, the Jeannette couple tied the knot in a hastily arranged backyard ceremony that formalized their union and celebrated Logan’s life. The Stevensons abandoned an original wedding date of July 2014 after learning from doctors late last month that their son had 2-3 weeks to live. The couple wanted Logan to see them marry and to be in family photos. If nothing else, they will have that memory of him to cherish with them forever. Logan, who was born October 22, 2010, was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. He has Fanconi anemia, a rare disease that often leads to cancer. R.I.P.

Robsten fans will be pleased to learn that Robert Pattinson reportedly reunited with ex-girlfriend Kristen Stewart at her Los Feliz home last week. On Monday, Aug. 5, X17 posted exclusive photos of the 27-year-old Twilight hunk parking outside his former love’s house. Pattinson apparently attempted to keep a low profile by driving a white Durango with an out of state license plate. “Rob looked nervous on his way to visit Kristen,” the photographer told X17. “He was trying to be discreet so no one would see him.” The Rover actor ended his four year relationship with Stewart, 23, in May, after struggling to move past her July 2012 filing with director Rupert Sanders. Pattinson was spotted moving his possessions out of Stewart’s home in a pickup truck on May 19. Since then, an insider told Us Weekly that Pattinson has been “hanging out and hooking up” with longtime pal, Riley Keough. “She’s the first girl he’s liked since Kristen,” a source said of the 24-year-old granddaughter of the late Elvis Presley. “[They’re] having a lot of fun.” But after taking some time apart from Stewart, perhaps a reconciliation is possible? A source tells Us, “They stayed friends and have always kept in touch.” If they do get back together, do you think it will last?
