Nick Gordon To Face Grand Jury Over Bobbi Kristina’s Death Even though he has denied any responsibility for the death of Bobbi Kristina, The Brown and Houston families still feel that Nick Gordon had a hand in her death . Now it appears the Georgia D.A. may agree. The D.A. just assembled grand jury to try Nick Gordon in association with Bobbi Kristina’s death, though exact charges have yet to be specified. Via RadarOnline : More trouble for Nick Gordon: RadarOnline.com has learned that a grand jury is being convened in Georgia to bring possible murder charges against Bobbi Kristina Brown‘s ex in the wake of her tragic death. A source close to the case told Radar Monday night that Brown’s self-described “husband” and his criminal lawyer, Jose Baez are following the fast-breaking developments. Gordon is currently facing a multi-million-dollar civil suit from Brown’s estate. Now, “The District Attorney is convening a secret grand jury and it’s likely to result in charges against Nick Gordon,” the source told Radar. It is unknown at this time what those charges will be. “It’s likely the other people in the house the morning she was found unresponsive will be called to testify. But it doesn’t appear that Nick will be called because the D.A. doesn’t want to give away their hand in preparation of a possible trial.” Those likely to be called in front of the grand jury are Max Lomas, a drug-dealing friend of Gordon’s and Max’s young girlfriend Danyela Bradley, the insider claimed. Both were in Brown’s Roswell, Ga., townhouse along with Gordon on the morning of last Jan. 31 when Brown was found face down in a water-filled bathtub. Hmmm…it will be very interesting to hear what all the other people who were inside the home saw happen that night. Especially since there is enough evidence for a grand jury to be assembled. Things are not looking too good for Nick right now.
New York Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia announced today that he is checking into a rehab facility to be treated for alcohol addiction. The decision comes at an odd time, as the Yankees are preparing to face off against the Houston Astros in a Wild Card playoff game tomorrow. Sabathia was expected to be in the team’s postseason rotation. “Today I am checking myself into an alcohol rehabilitation center to receive the professional care and assistance needed to treat my disease,” said Sabathia in a statement released by the Yankees. “I love baseball and I love my teammates like brothers, and I am also fully aware that I am leaving at a time when we should all be coming together for one last push toward the World Series. “It hurts me deeply to do this now, but I owe it to myself and to my family to get myself right. I want to take control of my disease, and I want to be a better man, father and player. “I am looking forward to being out on the field with my team next season playing the game that brings me so much happiness.” Sabathia was inconsistent and struggled with injuries throughout the season, but he was at the top of his game in recent weeks. Sadly, it’s not uncommon for athletes to struggle with addiction . Seeking treatment at such a crucial point in the season, however, is highly unusual.
Houston Students Killed In Bus Crash Two Houston families are in mourning after their children were killed when a bus plunged from Loop 610. In addition to the two fatalities, authorities report that two other students were injured when bus driver Luisia Pacheo”overcorrected” her steering to avoid a car. The Houston Chronicle reports: Two students died and two others were hurt along with their bus driver Tuesday morning when a collision caused a school bus to plunge from Loop 610 in southeast Houston, officials said. The bus landed on the eastbound frontage road of the South Loop near Telephone Road about 7 a.m., Houston police said. The dead students were identified as a 14-year-old Furr High School freshman Janiecia Chatman and Mariya Johnson, a 17-year-old student at REACH charter school, a dropout recovery school on the Furr campus. The freshman died at a hospital and the older student at the scene. The other two students, both who attend REACH, had serious injuries, officials said. An HISD official identified one of the injured students as Lakeshia Williams; the other was her twin brother, Brandon. The bus driver was identified as Luisa Pacheco, was taken to Ben Taub Hospital. She had non-life-threatening injuries, officials said. As police continue their investigation, Houston Police Department spokesman Victor Senties said the driver of a Buick LaSabre told investigators she thought another vehicle near her was drifting into her lane. She veered away and hit the side of the bus. Pacheco apparently over-corrected and the bus careened from the overpass, Senties added. So sad, condolences to those families. The arrest of Shannon J. Miles — who has a criminal history that includes convictions for resisting arrest and disorderly conduct with a firearm — came less than 24 hours after authorities said he ambushed Darren Goforth, a 10-year veteran of the Harris County Sheriff#39;s Office, at a suburban Houston Chevron station. “I am proud of the men and women that have worked swiftly to apprehend the responsible person who posed a significant threat to both law enforcement and the community at large,”
