The last few years movies with solid moral messages have been showing up in movie theaters across the nation. They have been opening to great numbers. This is proof that there is a hunger for telling an honest story minus the gratuity of violence, sex and drugs. Four men, one calling: To serve and protect The synopsis of the movie tells of law enforcement officers, Adam Mitchell, Nathan Hayes, and their partners are confident and focused. They willingly stand up to the worst the world can offer. Yet at the end of the day, they face a challenge that none of them are truly prepared to tackle: fatherhood. While they consistently give their best on the job, good enough seems to be all they can muster as dads. But they’re quickly discovering that their standard is missing the mark. They know that God desires to turn the hearts of fathers to their children, but their children are beginning to drift further and further away from them. Will they be able to find a way to serve and protect those that are most dear to them? When tragedy hits home, these men are left wrestling with their hopes, their fears, their faith, and their fathering. Can a new found urgency help these dads draw closer to God … and to their children? Moviegoers will again find themselves crying, laughing, and cheering—sometimes simultaneously—as they are inspired by everyday heroes who long to be the kinds of dads that make a lifelong impact on their children. Protecting the streets is second nature to these law enforcement officers. Raising their children? That will take courage. Take a moment and think about it…. Courageous … honor begins at home. A long list of young actresses, including Hailee Steinfeld and Jennifer Lawrence, are up for the coveted role of Katniss. By Amy Wilkinson Jennifer Lawrence Photo: Getty Images In the dystopian world imagined by Suzanne Collins in her best-selling young-adult trilogy “The Hunger Games,” anxious teens hope against all odds that they can avoid the titular, televised fight to the death decreed by their government. But in the real world, Hollywood’s rising stars are battling to get into the arena for the upcoming adaptation of the series’ first novel due out March 23, 2012. And no role is more hotly contested than that of 16-year-old District 12 tribute Katniss Everdeen. Casting speculation has run rampant since the news came in March 2009 that the novel’s screen rights had been purchased by Lionsgate. U.K. “Skins” star Kaya Scodelario was an early fan favorite for the role and, along with , “Nikita” star Lyndsy Fonseca was reportedly among the first to receive a script. Slowly but surely, however, actresses from their early teens to their mid-20s have begun hungrily eying the part of the 16-year-old heroine. “Katniss is my homegirl,” “Kick-Ass” star Chloe Moretz told MTV News back in October 2010. “I would absolutely die to be in ‘The Hunger Games.’ I’m just sayin’ that.” A few weeks later, “Vampire Diaries” star Malese Jow spoke with Hollywood Crush , expressing a similar sentiment. “I would do my absolute best,” she promised. “I would give it 2,000 percent for everyone. I know there are some die-hard fans out there.” A couple of young actresses have gone so far as to tweet pictures of themselves done up as Katniss (and in some cases, sporting her signature bow and arrow). For Halloween 2010, “Eclipse” star Jodelle Ferland dressed as the tribute, though she downplayed the stunt tweeting, “Don’t take it so seriously … I’m not trying to say, ‘Hey, look at me. I should be Katniss.’ ” More recently, “Camp Rock” actress Alyson Stoner posted various photos of herself dressed in Katniss’ iconic Hunger Games uniform and climbing walls as part of her “training.” Though plenty of up-and-coming actresses have thrown their name into the ring, producer Nina Jacobson told The L.A. Times early on that a known name wasn’t necessary for the part. “It really comes down to finding that person who can capture the physicality, the vulnerability and the toughness,” she said. “She’s a paradoxical character and you need somebody who has the range to capture all of those dimensions.” In a piece in The Wall Street Journal detailing the hunt for the “next Hailee Steinfeld,” the paper went behind the scenes of several upcoming YA adaptations, including “The Hunger Games,” in which casting director Debra Zane explained that an open casting call had gone out for Katniss (Caucasian, between the ages of 15 and 20, someone who could portray “underfed but strong” and “naturally pretty underneath her tomboyishness”), and that she’d seen about 50 girls so far. Nonetheless, last week Variety reported that Lionsgate had three Oscar-nominated actresses in their crosshairs: Abigail Breslin, Hailee Steinfeld and Jennifer Lawrence (with Lawrence as the front-runner). Steinfeld revealed to MTV News on the Oscars red carpet that she had already met with director Gary Ross, saying, “It’s definitely something that we’re taking one day at a time and making sure that everything is in place.” Entertainment Weekly quickly filed a report that conflicted with Variety ‘s, citing sources at Lionsgate who said that there was not yet a front-runner for the role and that about 30 actresses had been seen for the part, including a few who hadn’t yet gained much “Hunger Games” heat (like “The Lovely Bones” star Saoirse Ronan). Fan site The Hob followed up with Scodelario’s people (one of the actresses included in EW ‘s report), who said she had not in fact, read for the role yet. Ultimately, Lionsgate’s pick for Katniss will influence which of Hollywood’s young actors will be eyed for the roles of fellow Hunger Games contestant Peeta and Katniss’ childhood friend Gale (age is a big factor here). Nonetheless, several actors, including Liam Hemsworth and Alex Pettyfer, have told MTV News they have met with the studio about the Peeta role. It will be a “Hunger Games” fight to the finish, indeed. Who do you hope the odds are in favor of to play Katniss? Big-name stars like Justin Timberlake, Kanye West and Britney Spears have also had tense run-ins with photographers. By Jocelyn Vena Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez Photo: x17online.com For many celebrities, their relationship with the prying lens of the paparazzi has always been love/hate. Some bask in the attention and others complain of being hounded relentlessly by hungry photographers. This week, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez were caught up in a paparazzi kerfuffle while celebrating the Biebs’ 17th birthday in Los Angeles. After giving the paps the finger during the encounter, Bieber later apologized via Twitter . But he’s only the latest in a long history of celebrity/celebrity-photographer encounters: Everyone from Lily Allen to Coldplay’s Chris Martin to Sean Penn (the king of paparazzi knockdowns) has had heated moments with the paps. Here, we look back at some of the more memorable run-ins. Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz Like Bieber and Gomez, then-couple Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz were involved in a scuffle with the paps in 2006. Diaz claimed a photographer tried to run her over, while the photographer claimed the actors had trapped him as he was trying to get away. Bj
Also, Selena Gomez’s rep denies she was attacked by a jealous Bieber fan. By Jocelyn Vena Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez celebrate his 17th birthday dinner at Maggiano’s Little Italy at The Grove in Los Angeles on Tuesday Photo: x17online.com Justin Bieber has experienced the many highs of fame, what with chart-topping albums, a blockbuster movie, sold-out tours and a dedicated fanbase. But on his 17th birthday , the star also came face-to-face with the one main drawback of being a celebrity: the onslaught of the paparazzi. While Bieber was celebrating his birthday in Los Angeles on Tuesday, the star and his lady, teen queen Selena Gomez , were surrounded by the paparazzi while leaving L.A. area restaurant, Maggiano’s, Popeater reported. In the heat of the moment, Bieber gave the hungry photogs the middle finger, while Gomez shielded her face from their flashing cameras. Bieber later took to Twitter to clear the air about the incident and apologize for reacting the way he did. “Had a great bday and at the end of the night we got surrounded by paps and I reacted in a way I know better. I’m sorry #killthemwithkindness,” he shared, adding , “It’s not always easy but I know better than to react in anger.” Shortly after that, rumors began to surface that Gomez was shielding her face from the many camera lenses because she had allegedly been punched by an angry Bieber fan over her relationship with the pop star. The Twitter trend #sorryjustin had some speculating that fans were apologizing for that one fan’s incident with the actress/singer. But Gomez’s rep told People.com that there’s “absolutely no truth” to any of that. Photos from the night do, however, show what appears to be an injury of some kind on Gomez’s lip. Anna Faris thinks of ‘big bangs, shoulder pads and jelly shoes’ when she looks back at the decade. By Kara Warner Anna Faris in “Take Me Home Tonight” Photo: Relativity Media In addition to being an entertaining and raunchy romantic comedy, “Take Me Home Tonight,” which features the acting and comedic talents of Topher Grace, Anna Faris, Teresa Palmer and Dan Fogler, is also a cinematic homage to the 1980s. When MTV News caught up with the cast, we asked them to explain to the younger generations what the ’80s were all about — check out the embedded video to really get a feel for their trip down memory lane. “It’s like ‘Glee,’ ” Faris said with a laugh. “Is it like ‘Glee’?” Fogler questioned his co-star. “I don’t know,” she said, second-guessing herself. “How would you describe that decade to them?” Fogler followed up, taking over the interviewer job. “It was a time when the music was so influential and the style, it was so specific to the ’80s,” Faris explained. “You know, the big bangs and the shoulder pads and the jelly shoes.” “It’s in your face!” Fogler interjected. “No one really apologized for what they were wearing or doing.” Faris agreed: “Yeah, women wore a lot of super high-waisted bikinis — which men, I think, still kind of like.” “They do, because you saw more of the pelvis than you normally would,” Fogler explained, adding that the trend should make a comeback. Grace and Palmer took a different track in describing the ’80s. Grace chose to call out several famous music videos from our MTV archives in order to “describe” what was happening during the decade. “Let’s play a couple of [music videos] right now,” Grace instructed, proceeding to name his favorite ’80s artists and their hit songs. “Duran Duran, ‘Girls on Film’ — go! OK, ‘Hungry Like the Wolf,’ go to that video,” he said. “That is the opening-credit scene [for ‘Take Me Home Tonight’]. OK, now we are back. Now, do ‘Video Killed the Radio Star,’ ” he said. “The first video ever played on MTV. This video was going on when I was watching MTV.” “He’s good!” Palmer added, not able to comment properly on the happenings back in the day, since she was born in 1986. I am a huge fan of Amanda Seyfried …. I will keep endorsing her until she starts doing more mature roles again, cuz more mature roles usually involve her Stripping ….. What I love about her is that she does these fluffy bullshit Disney shit….but balances it out with legit roles where she gets naked…and a willingness to get naked allows me to ignore her laziness for the paparazzi…if anything it makes me like her more cuz it makes me feel like she knows she doesn’t need to get dolled up or in a bikini like a Kardashian clown and people will talk…cuz she is probably the hottest piece in Hollywood…. It’s kinda refreshing….frustrating…but refreshing…cuz if there is one thing I hate…it’s these fame hungry cunts and their tacky fucking behavior… Hollywood needs to be Glammed up again…the trash needs to disappear..I’m starting a campaign…and this bitch is my unofficial spokesperson…too bad she’s so awkward….but still so hot…confusing….
I don’t understand what inspired this staged photoshoot with Shauna Sand, I mean other than the fact that she’s hungry for attention because I can only assume she’s got another sex tape coming out and that her black dead vagina is ready to play in a sex tape ….cuz she’s gone from Playboy to Pornstar, it only took 20 years…but I do know that seeing her posing with various bikini bottoms is fucking hilarious, I’m thinking this is some trash whore bikini company paying the only pussy desperate enough to take that kind of product placement money….but then again this is hollywood – they are all desperate for money…Shauna Sand is just affordable…and here is her pretty hot body – as plastic as it may be , it’d try to taste it if I could….but I’m just a pervert who finds this kind of shit prestige…

The company that approved and put up ThatsAbortion.com’s SoHo billboard has decided to avoid more controversy by pulling the billboard down. We’re just not so sure they did it because they got why people were upset. Lamar Advertising has pulled down a controversial anti-abortion billboard that hung over a building in SoHo, the company confirmed to MyFoxNY.com. The ad read “The most dangerous place for an African American is in the womb”and featured a photo of a young African-American girl behind the text and a link to a website for a group called Life Always . The girl seen in the photo is Anissa Fraser, 6. On Wednesday, her mother, Tricia Fraser, said she was shocked that her daughter’s image was used in the billboard “I would never endorse something like that,” Fraser said Wednesday. “Especially with my child’s image.” Fraser wanted the group to pull the ad. Two years ago, Fraser brought her four children to a modeling agency to be photographed. She acknowledged signing a release form that allowed the photos to be sold as stock images. But she said she never thought her daughter would become the face of a pro-life campaign focusing on African Americans. The activist Rev. Al Sharpton cancelled a Friday news conference that he had planned at the billboard to protest its message. “The billboard was offensive, especially during Black History Month,” Sharpton said in a statement Thursday. The Women of Color Policy Network at NYU’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service had objected to the billboard and had written a letter to the advertising company. “The billboard is only one of the many attacks on reproductive freedom and services for low-income women across the country,” said Nicole Mason, the executive director of the Women of Color Policy Network. We still don’t understand how this billboard even made it up… Or when these same conservative activist types are going to become this adamant about highlighting how many African Americans are dying because of inadequate healthcare in the hood, gang violence, the prison system, HIV/AIDS… Source
