Chris Cooper Cast as Norman Osborn in The Amazing Spider-Man 2!

Big casting news from the set of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 , which is already in production! Chris Cooper will join the cast of the comic book movie sequel, playing Norman Osborn! Osborn was played by Willem DaFoe, who definitely shares a similar look with Cooper, in the Sam Raimi trilogy. In that series, the character becomes the villainous Green Goblin, and reports are that Cooper’s Osborn will do the same, either in this film or the next one. Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone , Sally Field, and Martin Sheen will return to their roles, with Jamie Foxx, Paul Giamatti, Felicity Jones, Shailene Woodley, and Dane DeHaan joining on. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will hit theaters May 2, 2014. Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Sally Field (who was nominated for an Oscar for her role in Lincoln ), and Martin Sheen. Ian Somerhalder Continues Push For Fifty Shades of Grey Role

Ian Somerhalder is not only interested in the role of Christian in Fifty Shades of Grey, he’s progressed to lobbying for it … and recruiting writers. The Vampire Diaries star, 33, has made it clear that he’s more than game to turn the controversial novel into an even more controversial movie. Now he’s waging a Twitter campaign of sorts, beginning with writing to Bret Easton Ellis, who he apparently wants to write the script: “Id so love to be Christian Grey w/you & Angelina Jolie. Ive only waited 10 years to do a movie w/u. Im grown up now-no worries.” Ellis ( American Psycho, The Rules of Attraction ) has also been angling to bring the S&M saga of Mr. Grey and Anastasia Steele to the big screen. He wrote to Ian: “I’m glad you’re as excited by the prospect of Fifty Shades of Grey as I am. (though I’ve heard that Angelina is not involved…)” Yes, despite rumors that Angelina Jolie will direct , that’s not happening. Still, Bret and Ian? A formidable pair no doubt. Ellis previously named Alex Pettyfer as his Mr. Grey of choice, but says he might reconsider. “Rereading Fifty Shades of Grey: it’s hard for me to think of Ian Somerhalder as Christian G. because I’ve known him personally for so long.” “I know Ian Somerhalder and how kinky he can be and yes, he’s probably Christian Grey in Fifty Shades of Grey, and he will go all-out for it.” “I’ll call Ian tomorrow for Fifty Shades of Grey …I get it, I get it.” We’re glad you get it Bret … now do it. The Vampire Diaries Trio Covers EW, Nearly Shuts Down Twitter

Forgive us for ripping off a previous CW marketing campaign, but: OMFG . There really is no alternate reaction to the trio of covers Entertainment Weekly just released in honor of The Vampire Diaries , specifically stars Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley. All three are featured across the main cover and two collector’s items, and nary a shirt is to be seen… Copies of the issue go on sale Friday, while inside producers Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson dish on the challenge of writing for a show with dueling, passionate fan bases. “When we want Stefan and Elena to have a moment together, how can we do that and not have our Delena fans outraged?” Plec asks . We’ve got an idea, Julie: just take Damon’s shirt off. That will satisfy all viewers.

For country music fans, Faith Hill‘s performance of her new song “Come Home” was the highlight of the 2012 People’s Choice Awards Wednesday night on CBS. Granted, Taylor Swift won Favorite Country Artist, and deservedly so, but there’s no doubt Faith helped pave the way for such crossover stars like T-Swift. Last night, Hill returned to the national spotlight for just the third time in recent years, singing the song that she debuted at the CMA Awards in November.
