“Eddie is a comedic genius, one of the greatest and most influential live performers ever,” telecast producer Brett Ratner says. “I know he will bring excitement, spontaneity and tremendous heart to the show.” Eddie Murphy is set to step back into the spotlight in a big way: He#39;s agreed to take on hosting duties at the Oscars next February. The selection of Murphy, 50, is a departure from last year#39;s Academy Awards hosts – the unlikely duo of James Franco and Anne Hathaway.
Learn how an army of Beliebers almost mauled the 2010 VMA host on ‘VMAs Revealed,’ airing Saturday at noon ET on MTV. By James Montgomery Justin Bieber at the 2010 Video Music Awards Photo: WireImage It seems that Justin Bieber can’t so much as step outside without inciting a riot of considerable magnitude, so it was to be expected that his performance at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards — supposedly a secret song-and-dance routine set outside the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles — would probably attract some attention. But VMA producers had no idea just how out-of-hand things would get — or how close VMA host Chelsea Handler would be to being mauled by Justin’s army of Beliebers as a result. It was all thanks to one harmless tweet by JB himself, as we learn in “VMAs Revealed,” a new behind-the-scenes special set to air this Saturday at noon ET on MTV. It all started before the VMAs, during Bieber’s rehearsals. Producers planned to have Handler exit the theater and take a spot at the front of the stage, holding a sign that read “Chelsea hearts Justin.” Everything was going swimmingly until an army of Bieber fanatics got wind of things. “Out on the Nokia Plaza, they were rehearsing Justin Bieber’s performance,” MTV News VP Ryan Kroft explains in “Revealed.” “[And] if you sort of stopped and paid attention, out comes Chelsea Handler in curlers.” Of course, on the night of the big show — after Bieber had tweeted about “free tickets to [his] VMA performance” — things changed. The Nokia Plaza was positively packed with screaming Bieber fans, who didn’t take kindly to Handler’s intrusion — and they let her know by crowding up against a barricade, nearly crushing her and sending all plans out the window. Producers never quite got a good shot of Handler and her sign — “I think you can see her sign bobbing around, you just can’t see her head. She should’ve worn the curlers,” Kroft said — but luckily, she escaped serious bodily harm. And the true Beliebers ended up being happy too: Not only did they get to see a once-in-a-lifetime performance from their idol, but Bieber would go on to win the VMA for Best New Artist later that night. My name is Cassidy and I’m 16 years old. I love Justin Bieber so much and I would never have thought in a million years I would ever meet him…but like Justin says: NEVER SAY NEVER! One of my good friends Paige and I would always talk about him in our biology class and she would always tell me about her Bieber experiences, and would say that I’ll meet him one day. On Tuesday morning, August 16th, I woke up and got all these phone calls that Justin was in town at our local sky high and trampoline place. I was with my friend and we literally got dressed and rushed over to the movies (Muvico) around 11:30am because we thought for some reason he might go there that night to watch a movie since he has been there with Jaden Smith before. I was calling all my friends to see if they were at the mall and if they had seen Justin there but they said no. I don’t know why but I had this gut feeling that he was going to be there. I waited in front of the movie theatre literally all day and by 9:00pm my friend Natalie and I were about to give up and leave because it was about to close anyways. My friend said we should just go, he’s not coming. I told her no we can’t, I still have a feeling he might come! Then about an hour later around 10:00pm I see a group of girls running towards someone and I look over a car and it was JUSTIN BIEBER! I felt like I was dreaming. He was with Jaden Smith and Moises Arias too. I started running to him but he was already running towards me because he had to hurry and get in his car before girls started attacking him! I quickly asked him if I could get a picture together and he said, “Yeah is your camera already on?” and I said “Yessss!” Then his bodyguard took the picture. I honestly couldn’t remember anything after the picture. I don’t even remember saying thank you and if he said anything, I was just so shocked/speechless that I just met and got a picture with Justin! After that my friend Natalie asked for a picture and with him and he said, “Sorry I can’t. I’m in a rush” but she at least got a picture of his back getting into his car. It was seriously a dream come true for me! My friend and I walked to the curb of the parking lot to watch him drive away and that’s when I started crying so hard. I’ve never cried so hard in my life. The very first person I called was my friend Paige because we had been talking throughout the day. I then called my mom and told her the same thing and she thought I was in a car accident or something because I was crying so hard and couldn’t talk. That whole time I honestly thought it was all a dream, it just didn’t feel real to me, it was so crazy! I am most definitely proud to say that I met Justin Bieber and I’m going to frame that picture of us and keep it forever! My dreams finally came true, I can’t thank Justin enough for what he does for his fans and I can truly call him my inspiration! I love you Justin Drew Bieber. – @ cassidyaddison Original post: My name is Cassidy and I’m 16 years old. I love Justin…
My name’s Kierra and I actually have TWO Bieber Experiences I’d like to share! Justin’s story of how he came to be who he is today inspires me to do the unthinkable. Last summer in 2010, that’s exactly what I did. My friend Kacy and I teamed up and made a video to help me possibly meet Justin on August 14th in Columbus, Ohio. I knew it was a long shot because I didn’t even have tickets to the show, but that didn’t stop me! I took that video and plastered it on EVERY website I could think of, just praying someone would see it. I tweeted it to Ryan, Alfredo, Justin, Scooter, EVERYONE! At times I felt like giving up. It was the day before the show and my hope was almost gone. Then a man from bieberfever.com by the name of Brad finally saw my video. There was no feeling greater than accomplishment, I could have cried. Actually I did. The next day I met my idol, Justin Bieber. I walked up to him, said “Hi Justin”. He smiled and said “Hi, how are you?” I just stood there like an idiot and watched his lips move, completely oblivious to the fact he’d just asked me a question. But it’s okay because he just laughed a little and turned toward the camera man, he put his arm around me, and I put my arm around his waist. We took the picture, and he said, “It was nice meeting you ladies!” , and that was that. Then on November 10th, 2010 I was noticed again. My best-friend Raedriana really wanted to see Justin because she’d never been! I wanted to help her, so I got people tweeting Scooter, Alfredo, Kenny, etc, to possibly help her see a show. Once again, THE DAY before the show, we received a message: “We’ve decided to give you two seats to tomorrow’s show, whose name should I leave them under?” That meant we BOTH got to go! We were so excited. Upon getting there, we discovered we’d been given FRONT ROW SEATS! Front row, dead center. The opening acts were amazing! After Sean Kingston’s performance, he came out from backstage, and was standing right in front of me! I asked him for a picture, and he gladly took one with me! Then it was time for Justin to come out , I thought we were going to explode. The whole show went without a hitch UNTIL Justin was attempting to sing directly at me, and he accidentally spit on my face. I didn’t know what to do, because everyone around me saw it, long story short, I went into an asthma attack and found myself being escorted by Kenny Hamilton and some other large men BACKSTAGE to the paramedics! While backstage, after I could breathe again, Ryan Good and Justin’s mom Pattie, walked by me! They came over and said hello, they were very, very nice! Kenny helped me back to my seat where I enjoyed the rest of the show. We stayed where the buses were until they all drove out. We just stood there and thought, “This all happened, because we believed it would”. Don’t think you need someone else to make something happen for you. BELIEVE in yourself. Nothing is impossible, the word itself is, “I’m Possible”. So thank you so much to Brad from BieberFever for making me the happiest and most grateful girl in the world! And for all you reading, in the words of our hero, “Never Say Never” ♥ -Kierra @iSING4BIEBER Follow this link: My name’s Kierra and I actually have TWO Bieber…
September 28, 2009. The day I’ll never forget. I met my idol, inspiration, and favourite singer, Justin Bieber. It all started when my friend entered the contest at 91.5 The Beat. She even assumed she wouldn’t win, but one day, she got the call saying she won! 2 minutes later she called my house and was basically screaming asking me, “Will you come meet Justin Bieber with me?! I just won the contest!” I screamed and ran around the house, and I yelled YES. Of course, we got to meet him on a school day, which means I got to miss school just to meet him. It was awesome. Now me and her can both say we’ve met our inspiration, we have our picture with him, and I have his autograph. His arm was around me, probably the best minute of my life. He even got to talk to us for a bit & listen to him without screaming fans all around. Never say never and take every chance you get because you don’t know how amazing something could turn out to be. -Faith Bramer Read this article: September 28, 2009. The day I’ll never forget. …thus landing herself a role in the non-televised, totally-not-a-game show, Plea Deal or No Plea Deal ? Sorry. That’s what you call “low-hanging fruit.” Speaking of fruit, Hayley Marie Norman , the luscious brown pear who’s known as Deal or No Deal ‘s “Suitcase Girl #25” to most people, but as Justice, the badass topless motorcycle mama from Crash , to Mr. Skin, was arrested today in Los Angeles. Hayley is accused of making “obscene or threatening phone calls” to the current girlfriend of her ex-fiance; police were alerted after the woman received a text from Norman which said simply: “You’re a fucking cunt.” Norman has also been charged with vandalism after allegedly scrawling the same epithet, along with the message “This girl sucks dicks for free,” on the side of her romantic rival’s apartment building. Uhm, you’d rather she charged $20? Hayley says that her idol is blaxploitation goddess Pam Grier , a skinspiration that should come in handy in the clink. Hayley, when the criminal justice system is getting you down, just ask yourself: “What Would Pam Grier Do?” (Hint: the answer is always “lesbian shower scene.”) See more from pottymouthed sex goddess Hayley Marie Norman right here at MrSkin.com!

‘I have never seen a movie in 3-D,’ ‘Dark of the Moon’ actress reveals to MTV News. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” Photo: Paramount In case you need more reason to go see “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” this week, in addition to crazy amped-up action and a new lovely leading lady, the third robot-tastic installment is in 3-D. And it wasn’t converted in postproduction, like a few of the recent 3-D films out there. Director Michael Bay insisted that his first foray into the three-dimensional medium be as authentic and technologically advanced as possible. Lately there has definitely been a bit of 3-D fatigue in the air. When MTV News caught up with Rosie Huntington-Whiteley at the film’s worldwide premiere in Moscow recently, we asked for her thoughts on the 3-D element of “Dark of the Moon.” “I will be the judge of that after I see this film, because I have never seen a movie in 3-D,” she revealed. “When Michael told me it was going to be in 3-D, I said, ‘Right, I’m going to wait,’ and now we’re here, we’re at the premiere stage and I’m going to wait until [I’m in] London and see it with my family.” So when Whiteley finally watches the 3-D version of the film with her family and friends, will she be watching herself on the big screen or watching her family’s reactions? “I’m going to be watching them watching me,” she said with a laugh. Bay has made a big deal of the fact that he initially had a lot of reservations about 3-D, explaining that his buddy director James Cameron finally convinced him to go for it with this film. “[James Cameron], at the last minute, goes, ‘Mike, come on,’ ” Bay recalled , imitating the “Avatar” director’s enthusiasm with a slightly deep and gravelly inflection in his voice. “This is like my idol. He goes, ‘Mike, come on, we’ve done everything.’ I’m thinking, ‘I haven’t done everything.’ ” Cameron pushed him to try out this “new toy,” and despite all the headaches that were added to the filmmaking process with shooting in 3-D, he’s glad he did it. “3-D, it’s pretty great when you see these robots interact in the space,” Bay said.
