Of Justice Says Mario Winans Dodging Restitution Payments From Tax Fraud Case Mario Winans has been hit with more financial trouble in connection to his federal tax evasion case. Last year, the “I Don’t Wanna Know” singer pled guilty to one count of failure to file taxes under a plea deal after admitting that he’d only filed federal taxes once in the last 12 years. Under the terms of the deal, Winans got five years probation, 500 hours of community service at a boys music school in Newark, seek mental health treatment and pay $434,968 in restitution. But the former Bad Boy artist apparently hasn’t started paying the restitution part, and last month, the Department of Justice slapped him with a $435,068 lien on his $1.3 million Northern New Jersey mansion. According to the lien, the feds are threatening to slap a 25 percent in interest on the judgment if he doesn’t start making payments, and are reserving the right to throw him in prison for 20 plus years. As of Friday, there was no evidence that Winans had started making debt payments.

Jeff Schear/Getty Images for Scholly Chance The Rapper Is Winning Big At The iHeart Radio Music Awards Chance The Rapper is going to be honored at this year’s iHeart Radio Music Awards, and he’s going to be given the Innovator Award. The Chicago native is being recognized for his “groundbreaking accomplishments in the music industry and his unsurpassable contributions to social causes.” Chance will receive the Innovator Award for his contributions to social causes as well as his musical accomplishments, particularly through his non-profit organization, SocialWorks. Past honorees include Pharrell, Justin Timberlake, U2 and Bruno Mars. Nominees for the iHeartRadio Music Awards were announced on January 10. Artists who have received multiple nominations for this year include Rihanna, Bruno Mars, Cardi B, DJ Khaled, and Demi Lovato. Camila Cabello is going to be honored with the iHeartRadio Fangirls Award while Bon Jovi will receive the iHeartRadio Icon Award. The fifth annual awards will air live from the Forum in Los Angeles on Sunday, March 11, and are going to be hosted by Hailey Baldwin and DJ Khaled. Congrats to Chance! Continue reading

David Ryder/Getty Images TWO….DAYS… Officer Suspended For Two Days For Not Having Taser During Charleena Lyles Shooting The officer who fatally shot Charleena Lyles has been suspended for just two days for his actions in the fatal shooting. As previously reported Officer Jason Anderson who fatally shot Charleena Lyles in front of her children , did NOT have a Taser on hand because it “took up too much real estate” on his utility belt. Anderson told authorities he left his Taser in his locker the day he killed the pregnant mom of four who had a history of mental illness and approached him and another officer with a knife. Now according to The Seattle Times, Anderson is seeing repercussions, not for killing Lyles, but for only having his gun on hand. The officer was suspended for just two-days after Interim Police Chief Carmen Best determined that he violated department policy. “Your complacency in this regard is unacceptable and added an otherwise unnecessary element to an incident already of significant public concern,” Best wrote in her first high-profile disciplinary action since becoming interim chief after former Chief Kathleen O’Toole stepped down at the end of last year. “The impact of your disregard for this policy on public trust should not be underestimated,” added Best, who is seeking the job as permanent chief for which the city has launched a nationwide search. SMH, just two days?! The King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office is still trying to determine if Anderson and the other officer should face criminal charges. Continue reading

Throughout the short 30 seconds, the singer is showed cozying up with Thor: Ragnarok star Tessa Thompson, with the majority of the scenes showing the two women about to engage in some romantic activity one way or another. This trailer is just the latest piece of evidence to fuel rumors of a Janelle Monae/Tessa Thompson relationship–and people all over the internet are super excited by the prospect of this union. Back in 2010, Monae told Rolling Stone : “The lesbian community has tried to claim me, but I only date androids. Nothing like an android, they don’t cheat on you.” Her thoughts from 8 years ago coud have changed by now, though. The two lovely ladies have been pictures together multiple times in the past couple of months, even appearing on the carpet together for Thompson’s premiere of Annihilation just a few days ago.
