Though everyone knew Irving was asking to get out of Cleveland, nobody expected him going to Boston; especially in a trade for Isaiah Thomas. Though this news broke and was supposedly official, now there’s been backtracking as far as how concrete this trade really is. Thomas traveled to Cleveland, took exam and flew back out of town, sources said. Marcos Taylor—who portrayed the infamous former Death Row Records CEO Suge Knight in both Straight Outta Compton and Lifetime’s Surviving Compton TV movie—has been arrested on assault charges. According to TMZ , Mr. Taylor got into an argument at a Carrabba’s Italian Grill in New Jersey that ended up with him punching the Carrabba’s manager in the face multiple times. It’s been reported that it took a number of the Italian Grill’s employees to drag him out of the restaurant, and to make matters worse, at some point he allegedly hit a woman on the side of her head. As far as Taylor’s account of the events, he told TMZ that he is the one who got jumped and his attorney says it was only in an act of self-defense that anything went down, but he didn’t lay hand or foot on anyone.

Getty Images “Instant Divorce” In India Voted Unconstitutional India’s Supreme Court has deemed the Islamic practice of instant divorce unconstitutional in a 3-2 majority verdict. The court called the practice “un-Islamic”. India is one of a handful of countries where a Muslim man can divorce his wife in minutes by saying the word talaq (divorce) three times. The tradition of “triple talaq” is still widely practiced in India, which allows a Muslim man to divorce his wife simply by chanting the word “talaq” three times. While “triple talaq” is centuries old, it is not enshrined in Sharia or the Koran. I welcome the Supreme Court judgement on instant Triple Talaq. The cases were filed by five Muslim women who had been divorced in this way and two rights groups. One of the judges, Justice Kurien Joseph, said the practice was not an essential part of Islam and enjoyed no protection. Women’s rights campaigners have hailed this as a historic win.

The museum’s sports curator, Damion Thomas, told USA Today, “The National Museum of African American History and Culture has nearly 40,000 items in our collection. The Colin Kaepernick collection is in line with the museum’s larger collecting efforts to document the varied areas of society that have been impacted by the Black Lives Matter movement.” Edwards told the museum, “I said, ‘Don’t wait 50 years to try to get some memorabilia and so forth on Kaepernick. Let me give you a game jersey, some shoes, a picture. … And it should be put right there alongside Muhammad Ali. He’s this generation’s Ali.’” The National Museum of African American History and Culture, located in Washington, D.C., features an exhibit dedicated to sports that “demonstrates the centrality of African American contributions and challenges to contemporary American culture and politics.”
