A 69-year-old Manhattan entrepreneur didn’t have any kids of her own, but she had birds. So like any good parent, the 69-year-old wanted to make sure her birds were taken care of in the event of her passing. That’s why she left them $100,000 in her will with precise instructions on how to take care of her pets. Via NY Post: A late Manhattan entrepreneur who pioneered direct mailing with her “rich list” left $100,000 to her 32 cockatiels — with nitpicky instructions on how to care for the birds. Leslie Ann Mandel, who was married to Arthur Herzog, author of the sci-fi thriller “The Swarm,” named her stepson, Matthew Herzog, as trustee of the pet fund. Her will lovingly lists each of the birds — Wheetie, Port, Blackie, Zippy, Tara, Zara, Shasha, Pigeon, Victory, Alie, Zack 12, Dart, Cubby, Max, Baby, Ruthie, Pumpkin, Tattoo, Susie, Tracy, Margie, Sammy, Angel, Inky, Sara, Tundra, Tanteleah, Eva, Cody, Nicki, Avis and Dragon — and asks that the birds “continue to live in the aviary” in her $4 million East Hampton property. As an alternative, they can be moved to “a protected place of similar size and dimension, made of the same materials, without a cage, for the rest of their natural lives,” the will says. Mandel adds explicit instructions for their weekly maintenance. “It is my wish that the birds be fed and the building cleaned each Monday and Thursday and their food shall be purchased from Avi-Cakes, carrots, water and popcorn,” the will states. Avi-Cakes are a brand of natural birdfeed. A 20-pound bag costs $115. Aldon Smith Cut By 49ers After DUI Car Crash We reported earlier today that 49ers baller Aldon Smith was involved in a blizzard hit-and-run car crash . The drunk athlete has had a long history of DUIs and run-ins with the law because of his drinking, and his team is over it! Via TMZ : Aldon Smith’s arrest Friday was his last straw with the San Francisco 49ers … they’ve cut him. In a statement announcing the move, the team said, “This organization has tried very hard to help Aldon fight his issues. Although he is no longer a member of this team, our support and concern for him will continue.” 49ers coach Jim Tomsula described the situation as “a sad day,” but said that Smith “will not have to walk this path alone.” Smith was arrested early Friday morning in Santa Clara for hit and run, DUI and vandalism. He posted $26,000 bail and has since been released. Why can’t these rich ballers just hire drivers when they want to go out and get slizzard?!? Uber isn’t that expensive folks.

When she can do that, then call me,” Mayweather said in an interview with ESPN’s SportsCenter that aired Thursday. Mayweather went on to say: “You know awhile back, I never knew who Ronda Rousey was. So I’m pretty sure she got upset. I want to say congratulations to Ronda Rousey and the UFC, you guys have done a tremendous job. Looks like it’s spilling over into the music world, as two rock stars are calling it quits after almost 15 years together. Via TMZ : Gwen Stefani has filed for divorce from her husband Gavin Rossdale, TMZ has learned. Gwen cites irreconcilable differences in her divorce petition, which seeks to end their 13-year-marriage. Sources tell TMZ there is no prenup, so the 50/50 California community property laws kick in. 45-year-old Gwen is worth a reported $80 million, and 49-year-old Gavin’s worth an estimated $35 million. Given the length of the marriage, that will probably all go into one pot before it’s divided. Gwen Stefani pulled the plug on her 13-year marriage to Gavin Rossdale because she believed he was cheating on her. We’re told Gwen and Gavin have not gotten along for some time. Giuliana Rancic Leaving E! Because She Hates Maria Menounos Who knew these two had beef? Giuliana Rancic is turning her skinny backs on the network that made her big — all because they’ve brought Maria Menounos aboard. According to Page Six reports : Giuliana Rancic’s exit from “E! News” has been “in the works for some time,” but the final straw was when the network hired her archrival Maria Menounos, according to an insider. “It’s the battle of the b****es. They’re like oil and water. They cannot stand each other,” says the source. The strife between them goes back even before Maria’s E! days. “They’ve always been rivals. Maria sees Giuliana as competition and it goes back years,” our source said. “They never speak and they won’t appear on-set together. It’s kind of unspoken that if she is in the building, Giuliana wants nothing to do with her.” Another source insisted, “Maria doesn’t have any issues with Giuliana, she sees her as a role model. Giuliana doesn’t feel the same way.” Rancic’s E! exit strategy involves developing and hosting other TV shows. In 2013, she hosted “Ready for Love” with her husband Bill Rancic, produced by Eva Longoria. The ratings were so low, NBC pulled it from the schedule and released the rest of the episodes online. The ratings for “E! News” also haven’t been stellar. “Giuliana knows it’s a sinking ship and she’s had an awful year. It’s half her decision to leave and half getting pushed out,” we’re told. Rancic will stay on for “Fashion Police” and “Live From the Red Carpet,” but we hear there will be more changes at “E! News.” Correspondents Alicia Quarles, Jesse Giddings and host Terrence Jenkins are on their way out. Ali Fedotowsky said she was leaving earlier this month. Our insider told us the hourlong show will be trimmed to 30 minutes and will be more of a “live chat show” hosted by Menounos. A show rep denied it, saying, “This is completely untrue and what you’re hearing is totally false. ‘E! News’ remains an hour news show that covers pop culture and entertainment.” Reps for Rancic did not get back to us. A rep for Menounos couldn’t be reached. Spur’s Becky Hammon To Become Head Coach Of Summer League Squad Time for a woman to take the reigns… Via BleacherReport San Antonio Spurs assistant Becky Hammon is getting a shot in the big chair, as she will be head coach for the franchise’s summer league team in Las Vegas. Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News reported the news of Hammon’s summer gig on Friday. Hammon continues to break barriers for women in the professional coaching ranks. She became the first full-time paid female coach in NBA history when Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich hired her as an assistant last August. In March, Hammon told George Willis of the New York Post that she wasn’t necessarily trying to use this gig as a stepping stone. “I’m in a space where I want to keep learning,” Hammon said. “I’m learning from a really intelligent human being, not just in basketball, but in life. I want to continue to learn. I’ll make those decisions as they come. But I’m really happy where I am.” Even though Hammon sounds content with what she’s doing for the Spurs, it would be hard not to look at this opportunity over the summer as a chance for teams around the league to see what she can do leading a group. Dylann Roof’s Sister Starts $5K GoFundMe For Wedding The sister of Charleston shooting suspect Dylann Roof is asking the public for wedding donations. Via My Fox DC : Amber Roof created a GoFundMe account on June 27 stating her wedding was cancelled due to the tragedy that occurred at Emanuel AME Church in Charleston on June 21. “Our wedding day was suppose to be the most important and special day of our lives. It was suppose to start our lives together with our new family. Our day was the exact opposite. Our wedding day was full of sorrow, pain, and shame, tainted by the actions of one man,” Roof said in a post on the GoFundMe page. Roof went on to say all of her wedding details were published and made public, stating that “destroyed” their big day. Amber Roof is asking for money to help cover the lost wedding costs, to pay bills and to send her and fiancé Michael on their honeymoon. She said 10% of the funds raised will be donated to Emanuel AME Church. As of Thursday morning, more than $1,400 had been raised. The full GoFundMe post read: Dear Family & Friends, As many of you know Michael and I had to abruptly cancel our wedding day, due to the tragedy that occurred in Charleston.
