According to LaCrosse Tribune reports: A basset hound authorities contend was killed by a La Crosse woman had fractured ribs, a collapsed lung and a cut consistent with a stab wound, according to court records. Prosecutors on Wednesday charged Selina Boulton, 32, with misdemeanor mistreating animals in the 13-year-old dog’s Nov. 14 death. She also is charged with disorderly conduct in La Crosse County Circuit Court. Boulton killed the dog, Jixer, after breaking into her ex-boyfriend’s house in the 700 block of North Losey Boulevard during an argument with him early that day, according to the complaint. Police found the dog dead on the floor, its choke collar cinched tightly to its neck and a frying pan nearby, reports stated. An autopsy done on dog determined it died of asphyxiation/respiratory failure as a result of severe thoracic trauma. Boulton told police Jixer bit her when she entered the house, which she denied breaking into, reports stated. She said the dog was four years past its life expectancy and that “an animal has more rights than I do.” “She did not seem to have any remorse for the fact that the animal was now deceased,” officers noted. Boulton had a 0.10 percent alcohol level after the incident. Her ex-boyfriend in a letter to police said he believed the dog died of a heart attack brought on when Boulton climbed through a window into the house. “She didn’t kill my dog,” he wrote. “I would like the District Attorney to please drop all charges immediately.” The poor guy wants to believe his dog died of a heart attack. Guess he has to believe in something to keep him going since his dog is pushing up daisies now.

Parents Force Child To Smoke Sticky Icky Some people reallllyyyy shouldn’t have kids. According to Buffalo News: Two Mayville teenage parents have been charged with forcing their 2-year-old to smoke sticky icky, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office reported Friday. The toddler’s mother, Jessica Kelsey, 17; the father, George Kelsey, 18; and Jessica’s father, Don Baker, 54, all of South Erie Street, are charged with second-degree reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child, authorities said. The incident allegedly occurred in the family’s apartment on the evening of Dec. 5, when the three adults either helped, observed or encouraged the 23-month-old to smoke sticky icky from a lighted bowl, the sheriff’s office said. The case was investigated by the Chautauqua County sheriff’s office, the district attorney and child protection department. All three were arrested on warrants and arraigned in Town of Chautauqua Court. They are being held in lieu of $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond. The toddler and another sibling are in the care of Child Protective Services, authorities said. These parents need their azzes whooped.

More information on what is already very upsetting news . Paul Walker’s Cause Of Death Revealed It’s sad he took a ride in his favorite car with a friend and never returned. Prayers go out to his family. According to TMZ: Paul Walker died from the combined effects of traumatic and thermal injuries sustained from the Nov. 30 car crash … this according to the L.A. County Coroner’s Office. Translation — Paul did not die from the impact of the crash alone. He burned to death after the Porsche GT crashed into a tree and a pole and exploded into flames. The man who was driving the Porsche GT, Roger Rodas, died from multiple traumatic injuries suffered upon impact. Burning was not listed as a factor in his death. The coroner says toxicology results for both men will be available in 6 to 8 weeks. The Medical Examiner says both deaths have been ruled as an accident. Sources in the coroner’s office tell us … both men were positively ID’d by using dental records. Walker and Rodas were killed Saturday in Santa Clarita, CA when the Porsche GT they were in veered off the road, slammed into a pole and exploded in flames. The cause of that crash is still under investigation. Paul was 40. Rodas was 38. This is still so hard to process. He will truly be missed. WENN

According to My San Antonio: Megan Hernandez’s family will always be grateful for those who tried to save her from the attack that would take her life, especially Robert Ortiz, the 15-year-old boy they have never met but who was injured as he intervened. “He’s very brave and I appreciate him,” said Hernandez’s aunt Marybelle Hernandez. “He gave my niece extra time so she didn’t have to die in the street.” Marybelle Hernandez said it was her niece’s friend who called her Tuesday afternoon to tell her that Hernandez had been attacked and stabbed by her ex-boyfriend as she held the couple’s 11-month-old daughter, Aliya Rae Reyes. “I guess he kept wanting her to be with him again and she kept saying no,” Marybelle Hernandez said she heard from the friend. The argument began around 3 p.m. as classes let out at Por Vida Academy Charter High School where Hernandez, 17, attended school. Students and staff were mingling and filing out of the parking lot into the residential area when they heard the commotion at the bus stop directly across the street in the 1100 block of Mission Road, officials and witnesses said. And within seconds the argument turned violent, leaving Hernandez bleeding to the death, her baby girl rushed away to safety, the Good Samaritan injured and Eduardo Reyes, also 17, charged in the slaying. He remained in jail Wednesday night on a combined bail of $400,000 for charges of murder, endangering a child and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The school also had counselors available and a moment of silence on Wednesday. “So many of our students witnessed the incident,” Rendon said. “Scores of students told us they just couldn’t sleep because of what they saw.” SMH. He wasn’t even safe in police custody. Yale Professor Found Dead In Jail Cell This is sad. According to NBC Connecticut: New Haven detectives are investigating the sudden death of a Yale professor who was being held in a cell at the Union Avenue Detention Facility. Police said Samuel See, 34, of New Haven was arrested on Saturday night. On Sunday, he was found unresponsive in his cell and later pronounced deceased. Police went to See’s home after receiving a complaint of a domestic dispute at 5:15 p.m. Saturday. According to police, See’s husband, Saunder Ganglani, 32, of New Haven, had gone to See’s home to retrieve his belongings despite a protective order that was in place. Ganglani told officers that he’d spent about two and a half hours at the house on Saturday before police responded. Officers charged Ganglani with violating the protective order and spoke with See, who told police to remove Ganglani from the home, police said. As officers were speaking with See, they mentioned there is also a protective order filed for See to stay away from Ganglani and See “became enraged,” police said. He yelled that it was his house, said he shouldn’t be arrested and fought with the officers when they tried handcuffing him. As he was being brought to the cruiser, he yelled “I will kill you. … I will destroy you,” to one of the officers, police said. See had suffered a cut over his eye and police called for EMS to evaluate him, police said. An ambulance transported See to Yale-New Haven Hospital, where he was treated. After being released, he was placed in police custody, taken to the detention facility and charged with violating a protective order, interfering with Police and threatening in the second degree. Detectives from the New Haven Police Department are investigating the death. “Mr. Samuel See was delivered to the detention center on Nov. 23 at approximately 9:10 p.m. by New Haven Police and was alert and communicating with Judicial Marshals throughout his detainment until Marshals assigned to the detention center found him non-responsive in his cell at approximately 6 a.m. on Nov. 24. Marshals immediately provided CPR and other lifesaving efforts, until relieved by New Haven Fire and Rescue,” Rhonda Stearley-Hebert, program manager of communications for the Connecticut Judicial Branch, said in an e-mailed statement. See was an assistant professor of English and American Studies who was on leave this semester. “The University community is deeply saddened to learn of the death of Samuel See. Our condolences go out to his family, faculty colleagues, and students, and his friends at Yale and elsewhere,” a statement from Yale says. The situation seems a little fishy. White Woman From Massachusetts Might Win Arabs Got Talent Via Gawker reports: Jennifer Grout, a white, 23-year-old classically trained singer from Cambridge, Massachusetts, might win a Got Talent competition is not really news. That she might win the Arab world’s version of the popular talent show is. Grout, who barely speaks Arabic, took the show’s judges by surprise when she showed up on stage to sing “Baeed Annak” (Away from You) by iconic Egyptian singer Umm Kulthum. But the judges were practically floored when her performance was not only capable, but actually impressive. “You don’t speak a word of Arabic, yet you sing better than some Arab singers!” judge Najwa Karam, a Lebanese singer, told Grout. “We have for so long imitated the West, and this the first time that a person who has no whatsoever link to the Arab world, an American girl who does not speak Arabic, sings Arabic songs!” Thus Grout became the first non-Arab to advance to the show’s finals. Born to musicians, Grout was trained to sing in a variety of languages under the tutelage of McGill University voice teacher Thérèse Sevadjian. She first fell in love with Arab music three years ago, when she happened across an article about Lebanese diva Fairouz. Learning how to play the oud, Grout began performing Arabic songs in Montreal, and later moved to Morocco in order to be closer to her music scene. She sounds amazing. Should she be allowed to do this, though? Isn’t this cultural appropriation?
