The fallout from this weekend’s tragic shooting at the Cincinnati Zoo continues. As previously documented, and as depicted in the video below, a four-year old boy fell into the gorilla enclosure at this famous facility on Saturday, May 28. After the gigantic animals grabbed hold of the boy and started thrashing him about, officials were left with no choice but to have an employee fatally shoot the gorilla, who was 17 years old and named Harambe. Was the animal protecting the toddler? Hurting him? About to cause him real harm? Debate has raged all over the Internet in regard to the incident, with critics wondering why the zoo could not simply use a tranquilizer on the gorilla. The zoo has responded by saying the tranquilizer would have taken too long to go into effect. Others have placed the blame squarely at the feet of the boy’s parents, specifically his mother, Michelle Gregg. In response to the criticism she has received online, Gregg posted (and then deleted) a Facebook message that referred to the situation as an “accident” and which thanked God for keeping her son safe . Authorities are reportedly reviewing “the actions of the parents/family that led up to the incident,” according to TMZ, implying they may be charged with the crime of negligence. The San Diego Padres are currently 19-26, sitting in last place in National League West. We know they are bad at baseball. But might the team also be homophobic?!? Allow us to explain… On Saturday afternoon at Petco Park, The San Diego Gay Men’s Chorus was brought in to sing “The Star Spangled Banner” prior to the team’s game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Simple enough, right? Something that has been done a million times, no? A recording of the choir was supposed to play over the loudspeakers, presumably so the actual choir could lip-sync on the field… but something went wrong. Instead, the recording was of a woman singing the anthem blared for all to hear. Was this a simple mistake? Or the sign of a much larger issue within the organization? “I really want to believe that it was an error,” Bob Lehman, the choir’s executive director, told the Union-Tribune of what happened. “But the first thought was, did they do this on purpose?” Oddly, the mistaken recording was never stopped; it played throughout the duration of the national anthem. The accusation would be that the team, or someone within the team, purposely tried to embarrass the all-male choir by making it seem like gay me sounded like women. The choir said the incident raised “serious questions about homophobia within the San Diego Padres organization and its relationship with the LGBT community.” It alleged that the mix-up followed “several days of troubling comments and behavior” from within the team, as it supposedly tried to prevent the singers from performing unless they each bought a ticket to the game. That decision was later overturned. In response to the incident, San Diego issued a lengthy statement. “The Padres organization is proud of our longstanding commitment to inclusion – within both our sport and our community,” the read in part. “We deeply regret that a mistake on our part has called this into question, but accept full responsibility.” It also said an investigation yielded “no evidence of malicious intent on the part of any individuals involved.” Watch the strange performance below to see what transpired on the field:

Michigan Dept. Of Corrections Ex Inkster Cop William Melendez Get Sentence Overturned In Appeals Court An ex-cop who beat motorist Floyd Dent in the head and choked him during a traffic stop was convicted back in November, but this week an appeals court has overturned his sentence. Originally, William Melendez was serving 13 months to 10 years for beating Dent. The appeals court ruled this week that Melendez can now serve half of his sentence in a boot camp facility where he will train military style for 90 days then move into a halfway house. According to The Root , after 13 months, he is eligible for parole. Talk about adding insult to injury! Dent said he’s suffered memory loss from the incident and has fear for his life.

Kam Chancellor Mistaken For Robber At Gym Super Bowl champ and four-time Pro Bowler Kam Chancellor was disgusted this week when he went to a gym with hopes of purchasing it, and had the cops called on him. The Seattle Times reports: Redmond police on Wednesday night confirmed that Seahawks safety Kam Chancellor was involved in an incident that led to a 911 call at the Redmond Athletic Club. The incident first came to light when Chancellor tweeted Wednesday night that two women had reported him to police because he was checking out the gym, which closed for business Monday. He said he was interested in buying it. Becky Range, the public information officer for the Redmond Police Department, described the incident as a misunderstanding. Range confirmed that a 911 call from the club was made to Redmond police at 4:25 p., Range said Chancellor was among five adults who, according to the club employee, were outside, banging on the door and looking in the window. “The employees thought the five individuals were trying to gain entry into the facility,’’ Range said. Range said the employees “felt unsettled’’ and called the police. The club had lost its lease and closed Monday. Range said Redmond police officers arrived as Chancellor and four other individuals were leaving. “It was a positive interaction,’’ Range said. “They (the officers) said, ‘Hey, what’s going on?’ and that’s when the group said they were just here to check out the facility. They were really easy to talk to, and they said our officers were really nice and they left without incident and no police report was filed.’’ Chancellor has run fitness boot camps for women in past off-season. Reality Star Told BOSSIP That The DUI Experience Helped Make Her Who She Is Today Real Housewives of Potomac’s Karen Huger is speaking out about the time cops popped her for driving while intoxicated. Huger was arrested nearly 10 years ago for drunk driving after she said she’d had a celebratory dinner and was on her way back to her Potomac, Md. home. “I pulled over,” the mom of two exclusively told BOSSIP. “Technically I wasn’t driving, I was pulled over into a parked area where you should not park. I turned off the car and I called my husband. However, the teddy bear cops found me first, and I collected my DUI.” The reality show star later pled guilty to “Driving While Impaired By Alcohol” and received probation. But Huger – who has become infamous for her love of etiquette and proper manners – hasn’t let the incident get her down, and said the experience helped make her the woman she is today. “I said when I took this project, I own everything about me that makes me, me,” she said. “What makes me this woman people can look at.
