Gregory Dale Lanier – a 35-year old resident of Frostproof, Florida – was hit in the leg by a bullet on Saturday in one of the year’s most unusual shootings. Because the shot was fired by his dog. According to The Highlands Today , Lanier and his canine were driving in a truck when the dog accidentally kicked a .380 pistol that was lying on the ground. It fired once and struck its owner in the lower extremity. Authorities have ruled that the shooting was accidental and the Lanier’s injury was not serious. But while it’s easy to laugh at this incident, it’s far too common of an occurrance for weapons to simply be lying around. Recent case in far more tragic point: Marquiez Deshon Pratt was arrested this week after his four-year old found a gun nearby his napping father and died of a self-inflicted wound. Bobby Brown and jail cells go together like PB&J…SMH Bobby Brown Sentenced To 55 Days In Jail According to TMZ reports : Bobby Brown has been sentenced to 55 days in jail following his most recent DUI arrest, TMZ has learned. TMZ broke the story … Brown was arrested in October after cops pulled the singer over for driving erratically, and smelled alcohol in his ride. Bobby was charged with DUI and driving on a suspended license following the incident. (Brown’s license had been suspended as a result of his previous DUI conviction in 2012. Bobby was also convicted of DUI in 1996.) Bobby pled no contest to the charges today. He was sentenced to the jail time, plus 4 years probation. He was also ordered to complete an 18-month alcohol program. This is Bobby’s third DUI conviction. Bobby has to turn himself in to jail by March 20 — and has been ordered to attend 3 AA meetings per week until then. We’d like to think that this would be Bobby’s last brush with the law. Woman Arrested For Brutally Stabbing Elderly Woman And Her Dog An attempted robbery that took a turn for the worst has left an eldery woman in critical condition and a scumbag burglar behind bars. via L.A. Times Riverside police on Tuesday arrested a woman suspected of stabbing and beating an 80-year-old woman as well as stabbing a dog, authorities said. The suspect was identified as Shannon Lynn Jones, 25, of Bishop. She was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, home invasion robbery, burglary, animal cruelty and vehicle theft, authorities said. The victim was in serious but stable condition with multiple stab wounds and blunt-force trauma to her body after the attack Monday morning in her mobile home in a trailer park in the 4000 block of Pierce Street in the city’s La Sierra neighborhood. Police described the incident as a home-invasion robbery and said the woman’s 1995 Toyota Camry was stolen. The dog was stabbed Monday morning in a different mobile home in the same trailer park, according to police. The condition of the animal was not released. It’s bad enough she attacked a helpless elderly person…..but the dog too??? SMH! Shutterstock

Ted Nugent. Piers Morgan. The gloves came off again in a debate on gun control this week, and whichever side you’re on, it’s hard to deny that these two squaring off makes for quality TV. Piers Morgan-Ted Nugent Debate Piers and Ted sat down in Texas, where Morgan visited a gun range and tried out a rifle similar to the one used by Adam Lanza in the Sandy Hook massacre. While admittedly “exciting,” Piers cited his experience with the weapon – easy to use, fairly accurate – as justification for an assault weapons ban . NRA member Ted bristled at that notion, accusing Piers of an “obsession” with guns and gun owners and imploring him to “leave us the hell alone.” Nugent offered his typically spirited defense of gun rights, arguing that they actually prevent crime and any that attempt to curb them is unconstitutional. Ted accused Piers of using misleading statistics about gun-related deaths and offered some figures of his own, which Morgan derided as “bull.” Nugent’s usual vitriol against President Obama was actually subdued by his standards, but he made his vehement opposition to his views clear. First, Selena basically tells Justin Bieber to eat his little heart out, as she poses in a bright blue bikini that leaves little to the imagination. Next, Franco – who plays a drug dealer in the film – crosses his arms and exposes his gun. Todd Helton DUI Arrest: Lottery Ticket Related?!?

Colorado Rockies first baseman Todd Helton was arrested on charges of DUI this morning, with new details pertaining to the incident making it even more embarrassing for the hitting star. According to the Thornton Police Department, the 39-year old was found stumbling out of a gas station, breath full of alcohol and lottery tickets in hand . Yes, lottery tickets. For a guy who once signed a $141.5 million contract. Helton “made spontaneous statements about drinking two igloo cups of red wine,” police say, and was booked on three counts of drunk driving. To the ball player’s credit, he was “respectful and professional” throughout the ordeal, authorities conclude.

Justin Bieber Bodyguard Under Investigation for Fan Interaction

He might be back together with Selena Gomez , but all is not perfect in the world of Justin Bieber. Police are reportedly investigating a member of the singer’s entourage, believed to be his bodyguard, after a man approached Justin at a Best But in San Fernando Valley last night and snapped a picture. Insiders tell TMZ that the bodyguard flipped out at the move, ordering the fan to delete the photo and threatening him until he obeyed. The individual felt so uneasy about the confrontation that he called the cops and filed a report when they arrived on the scene. No word yet from the superstar’s camp regarding the incident, but they have a lot to deal with these days. New Justin Bieber weed photos are allegedly circulating, as are claims that the singer was caught with Sizzurp .
