Kid Rock Tour To Benefit Struggling U.S Cities

Detroit rocker announces shows will raise money for local charities in each stop. By Gil Kaufman Kid Rock Photo: JulNeil Lupin/ Redferns Kid Rock has made every effort to help his beleaguered hometown of Detroit rebound from decades of economic distress. But now D-Town’s favorite son and original “American Badass” is expanding his scope with an upcoming club tour that will attempt to raise a few bucks for other struggling U.S. cities. The 10-city swing will hit intimate (at least for Rock) clubs in Maryland, New York, Indiana, Tennessee, Illinois, Colorado and Missouri, beginning on November 16 with a show at the Fillmore Auditorium in Silver Spring, Maryland. According to a press release announcing the swing, Rock “has assembled a team of Detroit titans to show support for other cities in need, and to show that Detroit, while experiencing [its] own difficulties still has the power to unite to help others around the country.” Working with this group of Detroit business leaders, Rock and company have pledged to donate money to local charities, causes and individuals through the Kid Rock Foundation at every stop on the swing. Radio stations in the local markets will help determine worthy causes. The tour was Rock’s idea, timed to coincide with the release of his latest single, “Care,” a duet with Martina McBride and T.I. on Rock’s Born Free album that urges Americans to stop bickering and take care of those in need of help. “The song says ‘the least that I can do is Care’ — and I want to put my money where my mouth is. Everyone knows that Detroit is hurting,” he said in the statement announcing the tour. “But I want to show that even though we don’t have a lot on our own plate, it doesn’t mean the people of my hometown don’t have compassion to share with others all over the country. At the end of the day we’re all Detroit, we’re one country, one family.” Considering that Kid Rock played to 12,000 or more each night on his summer Born Free arena/amphitheater tour, the upcoming dates are a big shift in terms of capacity, but also a rare opportunity to see him up-close-and-personal in such legendary room as Nashville’s 2,300-seat Ryman Auditorium; the 2,800-capacity Beacon Theatre in New York; and Boise, Idaho’s 1,000-capacity Knitting Factory. Tickets for the tour go on sale on Saturday, October 15. Dates and venues for Kid Rock tour, according to a press release:

Guns N’ Roses To Launch First U.S. Tour In Five Years

Trek kicks off October 28 in Orlando, Florida, and will feature more than 30 shows. By James Montgomery Guns N’ Roses’ Axl Rose Photo: Jeff Kravitz/ FilmMagic Having spent the past two years touring everywhere but the United States (except for that one time they played at a motorcycle rally in South Dakota ), Guns N’ Roses will finally bring their show to our shores, with a run of arena gigs set to kick off in late October. The tour — which launches October 28 at the Amway Center in Orlando and features more than 30 dates — is GN’R’s first run of U.S. shows in more than five years. That also means it’s the first time they’ve hit the road here since the 2008 release of their Chinese Democracy album . In addition to that Orlando show, the list of confirmed U.S. shows, according to the band’s publicist, are: October 29 at the American Airlines Arena in Miami; October 31 at the Bi-Lo Center Arena in Greenville, South Carolina; November 2 at the Philips Arena in Atlanta; November 5 at the Gexa Energy Pavillion in Dallas; November 12 at the Sprint Center Arena in Kansas City, Missouri; November 13 at the Target Center in Minneapolis; and November 19 at the Comcast Theater in Hartford, Connecticut. Guns N’ Roses will also hit Omaha, Nebraska; Tulsa, Oklahoma; Chicago; East Rutherford, New Jersey; Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania; Worcester, Massachusetts; Camden, New Jersey; Detroit; Cincinnati; Nashville, Tennessee; Indianapolis; and Denver, though dates and venues for those shows have yet to be announced. The latest incarnation of GN’R features (of course) mastermind Axl Rose, plus guitarists DJ Ashba, Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal and Richard Fortus, bassist Tommy Stinson, longtime keyboardist Dizzy Reed (and another keyboardist, Chris Pitman) and drummer Frank Ferrer. The band hasn’t played a show since a December 2010 date in Dubai, but will warm up for their U.S. run as only they can: with a series of massive dates in South America and Mexico. Ticket pre-sales for some of the upcoming shows kick off this week. The band has been posting information about the shows on their Facebook page . Meanwhile, their official site remains largely un-updated since 2009, and Axl Rose has yet to mention the tour over on his Twitter account (though he would like you to learn more about a cat named Dijon). When Will These Shady Senators Learn?? Indiana Rep Who Voted Against Gay Marriage Caught Try To “Rent-A-Boy” For Sex Off Of Craigslist [Video]

These fugged up senators never cease to amaze us!!! Emails shared with The Indianapolis Star suggest that state Rep. Phillip Hinkle — responding to a local posting on Craigslist — offered a young man $80 plus tip to spend time with him Saturday night at the JW Marriott hotel. The emails, sent from Hinkle’s publicly listed personal address, ask the young man for “a couple hours of your time tonight” and offer him cash up front, with a tip of up to $50 or $60 “for a really good time.” he email exchange is in response to the Craigslist posting in which the young man — who lists his age as 20 in the ad but says he is 18 years old — says, “I need a sugga daddy.” The young man told The Star that they met, but that he tried to leave after the man told him he was a state lawmaker. He said the lawmaker at first told him he could not leave, grabbed him in the rear, exposed himself to the young man and then later gave him an iPad, BlackBerry cellphone and $100 cash to keep quiet. When contacted by The Star about the emails, Hinkle, a Republican who represents portions of Pike and Wayne townships, did not contest the emails but said, “I am aware of a shakedown taking place.” Asked what he meant by shakedown, Hinkle would not elaborate. He directed further questions to his attorney. Hinkle’s lawyer, defense attorney Peter Nugent, said he was unable to say what Hinkle meant by a “shakedown.” Nugent said he is investigating the situation, but he does not know what happened Saturday. Nugent said he has not filed a police report and does not yet know whether he will. Asked whether he had seen the emails and the Craigslist posting, Nugent said, “Oh, I’ve seen some emails, but not all of them.” He would not be more specific. The Craigslist ad was posted at 7:37 a.m. Saturday. The ad shows two pictures of Kameryn Gibson, shirtless with pants pulled below the top of his underwear. The ad’s text features one written line: “Email me and I’ll tell you everything you need to know!” Forty-seven minutes later, he received a response from phinkle46 @comcast.net, with the email signature “Sent from Phil’s iPad.” “Cannot be a long time sugar daddy,” the email reads, “but can for tonight. Would you be interested in keeping me company for a while tonight?” The email offers “to make it worth (your) while” in cash, and offers a personal description: “I am an in shape married professional, 5’8″, fit 170 lbs, and love getting and staying naked.” Fifteen minutes later, Kameryn Gibson replied: “Yes I can!” He also sent along his phone number. Wowwww…there’s just too much to this story as the Senator’s wife was confronted and everything!! Megan Gibson said she then began receiving a series of calls from various family members — including from Hinkle’s son-in-law, demanding that his wife see proof of the emails. Megan Gibson dropped off her brother then returned to the JW Marriott, where she showed Hinkle’s daughter the emails. Megan Gibson said on her way back, she received another call from Hinkle’s wife. “The first thing she said, she was like, ‘OK, we will give you $10,000 not to say anything,’ ” said Megan Gibson, who said she was now becoming scared. “I was like, ‘OK,’ and I hung up the phone.” She soon got another call — from the Marriott hotel. It was Hinkle. Megan Gibson told Hinkle that she had informed his wife and family that he was gay. Megan Gibson said Hinkle’s response was: “You just ruined me.” Dayyumm, talk about some scandal for dat a$$!! Source
