Danny Roberts, a former cast member on the The Real World: New Orleans, has revealed something very sad and very personal iin a new interview with Entertainment Weekly. He is HIV positive. “The reason I want to share this story is that I spent so long battling and beating myself up for my own misconceptions and bigotry,” the 41-year-old said this week, adding: “It is difficult to admit the negative feelings you had about a set of people and state of being based on made-up stories.” Roberts appeared on the aforementioned MTV reality series in 2000. At that time, he was dating a military officer named Paul Dill, whose face was obscured by the network so he wouldn’t be discharged under the controversial “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy. It was unusual for a prominent television show to depict such a relationship during that area. Back then, Roberts famously spoke out against the since-repealed policy, which forced LGBT servicepeople to hide or lie about their sexual orientation. Roberts shunned the spotlight for a number of years after making a name for himself on The Real World. However, he recently moved to New York City, where he works as a digital design recruiter and is a dad to an adopted 2 1/2-year-old daughter. He discovered his disease in 2011 after passing out and then waking up in a pool of blood. Worried, he called his physician and explained what had transpired. The doctor replied with the diagnosis (from a previous week’s check-up that he had been waiting to reveal to Roberts until they met again in person) that would change his life forever. “My first reaction was shock. Then I was angry, then lots of denial,” Roberts tells EW , elaborating: “Those early years were very difficult and very lonely. You don’t know whom to turn to have conversation and people don’t know what to say. It’s not something that people have experience with. “There’s also the potential likelihood of massive judgments about what behaviors led to this and what kind of people this happens to.” At this point, there is good news, though: Roberts says that he has been “undetectable” since being diagnosed, which means that he has a low level of the virus in his blood. This also means it cannot be sexually transmitted to another person. Danny adds that he’s remained close with Real World co-star Kelley Limp, who is pictured with Roberts and company below. “She’s my life sister,” he told EW. “She was one of the first people I turned to and talked to. She has been strong and helped me through this.” In conclusion, meanwhile, Roberts does not want you feeling sorry for him. He wants to emphasize that he isn’t dying due to HIV; he is living with the illness. “The last thing I ever want is pity. I just want people to know and be aware. I knew so little myself so I get it,” he says. We wish Danny Roberts the best.

Unlike more recent immigrant caravans, of course, the Pilgrims earned a permanent place in the collective memory of Americans. We probably don’t need to tell you the rest of the story: The Pilgrims had a nosh with the Wampanoags and now, Americans get a four-day weekend, at least a quarter of which is to be spent stepping on the necks of octogenarians in hope of grabbing a slightly marked-down physical copy of Red Dead Redemption II so that the nephew you don’t even like will have something to open on Christmas morning. To call the tradition beautiful would be like saying the Grand Canyon is a pretty big hole, or Brett Kavanaugh enjoys the occasional brewski. More than Mount Rushmore, CTE, and civilian-owned military-grade assault weapons combined, Thanksgiving weekend is America. So it’s nice to see Meghan Markle reppin’ the Stars and Stripes and proudly flippin’ the bald eagle to her in-laws by celebrating Turkey Day right in the heart of King George country. Now, to be fair, Meg probably won’t be posting up in a recliner and gnawing on a drumstick while the Bears take on the Lions. While that sort of behavior is customary on this side of the pond, Meghan is a duchess now, and finishing off a twelver of Natty Ice during the late game would probably be considered a ” breach of royal protocol ” or something. And so, she marked the occasion in more suitable fashion by stopping by West London’s Hubb Community Kitchen to applaud the workers for their efforts and whip up a batch of her signature stuffing (which the Brits call “chuzzlewit” … we assume). Furthering her reputation as the least-lameass member of the royal family, Pregnant Meg genuinely seemed to enjoy her visit to the soup kitchen and didn’t once raise a kerchief to her mouth in response to any odors that may have been emanating from the poors. Of course, this isn’t Meghan’s first Thanksgiving in the UK, but it is her first with a royal title. As such, there was some scuttlebutt regarding whether she would mark the occasion at all, and whether the famously vitriolic British tabloid press would give her any flak if she did. So far, no shade has been thrown, but you can bet Meghan’s evil half-sister Samantha can’t wait to talk her signature brand of semi-literate trash. Man, America really got stuck with the dud Markle, didn’t we? Hey, Brits, how about we tear up this pesky Declaration of Independence, and you guys give us Meghan back in exchange for Sam? Deal? Last week, we reported that Alaskan Bush People star Ami Brown is grieving the sudden loss of her estranged mother . Unfortunately, Ami’s estrangement from her extended family did not end with her late mother’s passing. Apparently she — like the rest of the Browns — was a no-show for own mother’s funeral. The memorial service for Earlene Branson took place over the weekend. RadarOnline reports that Ami Brown did not show for her mother’s funeral, and neither did anyone else from her side of the family. Ami’s brother, Les, informed the tabloid of all of the details. “The service for my mother was very low-key but beautiful,” Les shared. He is still grieving the loss of his mother. “The Browns,” Les reveals. “Did not show up.” Ami has been estranged from her mother and brother for a long time, despite some plans to reconnect — plans that never came together. Even so, memorials are often where even bitter relatives come together. Les shares that this was not the case when his mother was laid to rest. He says that he saw no sign that Ami even cared. “There was no card,” Les reports. “Nor,” Less says, was there “any sympathy shown whatsoever.” It is generally traditional to purchase a bouquet of flowers if you have the cash but cannot attend the memorial. Sometimes, even corporations will buy a floral arrangement for a former employee’s wake. Despite years without any real contact, Ami’s brother still wants to try to reconnect — even though it is too late for their late mother. “I would love to see her,” Les admits. Les wants to see her in person “and tell her that I love her,” he shares. “And,” Les concludes, he wants to tell her “that I have missed her.” We don’t know that she’ll read what he had to say, but we hope that she knows. We would of course never judge anyone for cutting off contact, in the past or present, with a toxic adult relative. Families are incredibly complicated, and some people’s gripes with parents are extremely justified. We don’t know everything behind Ami’s estrangement from her folks. However, one source of conflict between Ami and her mother (and brother) is known: Billy Brown. When Ami was 15, she ran away with Billy — who was, at the time, about 26. Yikes. Not only has this been a sore point for her family, but to this day, Les holds Billy accountable for the continued estrangement. Of course, as saddened as Ami must be by her mother’s death, the Browns have something more positive on their minds. Noah Brown will soon welcome an Alaskan Bush Baby — that is, a baby. He and his wife, Rhain Alisha, whom he married just a few months ago, are expecting their first child. Ami is of course excited about being a grandmother to what’s sure to be a precious baby. We only wish that Earlene Branson had lived to learn of the news. Would it have been nice if Ami and her family had shown up for the memorial? Maybe. Or maybe it would have been more awkward than skipping it. There’s a lot of lost time, and tensions can run high when tragedy strikes. They may have feared that, in the eyes of some, they would not have been welcome because they waited too late. We hope that one day, at least, Ami’s children can connect with their cousins. It’s been just over two weeks since Demi Lovato left rehab , and by all accounts, the singer remains fully committed to the hard work of recovery. But that doesn’t mean there haven’t been any roadblocks along the way. Until recently, Demi was dating Henry Levy , a fashion designer whom she had reportedly known for years but had just become close with in rehab. Experts advise against romantic relationships for anyone who’s new to sobriety, but Demi’s new relationship was particularly troubling due to the fact that Levy is also a recovering addict . So perhaps it should come as no surprise that Demi’s beloved mother, Dianna Hart, has encouraged her to step away from Levy for the time being. And by “encouraged” we mean “demanded.” “Demi’s mom, as well as her entire family, wanted Henry out of the picture the minute that they saw the two of them together,” a source close to Dianna tells Radar. “Henry is newly sober and he is not the type of guy that Demi should be associating herself with right now,” the insider adds. “Several people have come to Dianna and told her that he is not a good influence since the two were seen together.” Unfortunately, it seems it’s not just Levy who has Demi’s loved ones concerned these days. According to the insider, Demi didn’t miss a beat in returning to her active social life, and the 25-year-old “still runs in those Hollywood circles that Dianna wants her daughter to avoid.” While no one is claiming that Lovato is using again, the source says there are widespread concerns that she’s falling back in with the type of people who landed her in trouble previously: “Demi is acting on her own accord again and everyone is worried sick,” the insider says. “There is only so much that her family can do. The rest is up to her.” One promising sign is that Demi has fired Dani Vitale , the backup dancer who she reportedly partying with at the time of her overdose. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are happily married and expecting, and the Royal Family has never looked so happy . But Harry and Meghan aren’t entirely content and are itching to leave their current residence. Not only are their accommodations too small, but Harry wants to step out of his brother’s shadow. RadarOnline reports that Harry and Meghan are eager to move. “Harry and Meghan want to move,” an insider reveals. They know that their family is growing, the source says, “and need more space.” We know that it’s tempting to claim that they’re being greedy or absurd by demanding more space. But as we describe their current residence — Nottingham Cottage, on the grounds of Kensington Palace — you’ll understand why. “But,” the insider says. “They don’t want to live next door to William and Catherine.” We so often tend to imagine the royal family living within a massive, spacious palace. But Nottingham cottage is just that. From the description, it sounds like a starter home. Harry and Meghan’s current residence has only two bedrooms for a household that’s about to have three people. (Sure, newlyweds may share a bed, and many married couples continue to share a bed, but they’ll want a guest room) The cottage also has two reception rooms — so, you know, normal rooms. That’s fine. RadarOnline describes the cottage as having one single bathroom. That’s barely enough for two people. They need to upgrade. Another impetus for their upcoming move is so that Harry and William can take a step apart. “They are planning a formal division of their joint royal household,” the source notes. “Which is based at Kensington Palace.” “And,” the insider continues, they are planning “the creation of separate courts to reflect their increasingly different responsibilities.” We’ve reported on this previously. The brothers have grown up and don’t want to step on each other’s toes. “The brothers have leant on each other and looked after each other since their mother died,” the source affirms. “But now they have their own families,” the insider explains. “They no longer rely on each other as before.” Now that William and Harry are adults, they don’t need to be literal neighbors. “They will soon have separate offices and separate lives,” the source explains. “So it would make sense for them to live further afield.” And Harry and Meghan’s options are broader than some might imagine. “There is no reason why Prince Harry and Meghan’s London home has to be at Kensington Palace,” the insider notes. “There are plenty of other options,” the source adds. “Including,” the insider says. “Using their own money to buy their own place.” Of course, some believe that it’s really Meghan and Kate who are tearing the princes apart . “Kate and Meghan live very different lives,” the source notes. Certainly. They’re both Duchesses, but they are of course different people. “And,” the insider continues. “That is likely to become more marked over time.” In other words, Meghan and Kate socialize differently, focus upon different charitable endeavors, and otherwise spend their time differently. Unfortunately, some — like Meghan’s irredeemably vile sister, Samantha — seem eager to cash in on that by painting Meghan as a monster. Ever since the world learned that Jenni Farley and Roger Mathews are getting divorced , Jersey Shore fans have behaved as though their own parents are separating. Jenni and Roger are the show’s most beloved couple, and the idea of them calling it quits has simply been too much for many Shore viewers to bear. Making the situation even sadder is the fact that the decision to split was not mutual — far from it, in fact. Roger has been begging Farley to take him back , but for a long time, it seemed as though his pleas were falling on deaf ears. Earlier this week, however, fans were encouraged by a tiny glimmer of hope. The couple posed together for photos at a media event, which naturally led to rumors of that Jenni and Roger were getting back together . Unfortunately, a source close to the couple says that’s just wishful thinking on the part of fans. Speaking with Radar Online, the insider confirmed that Farley and Mathews are “not getting back together.” The source notes that this week’s event was a family-friendly party sponsored by Dreamworks, and Roger and Jenni attended together for the sake of their two children. “She will always put her children first and this year is no exception,” the informant says. “She wants her kids to have as normal of a life as possible.” Of course, things are far from normal right now, as Roger has been pulling out all the stops to win her back. He even went so far as to publicly celebrate his anniversary with Jenni despite their estrangement. The source confirms that there was no cheating or infidelity involved in the decision to separate. It feels like the Giudice family is in ruins thanks to Joe’s very likely deportation next year. Teresa, however, seems to be keeping busy and even staying positive. It’s not because she’s happy about Joe getting the boot. According a report, she’s deep in denial. HollywoodLife reports that Teresa is still struggling to accept the reality of what Joe’s deportation will mean. “Teresa is absolutely heartbroken over the news that Joe will not be allowed back into America once he’s deported,” and insider states. We knew this — but we didn’t know the whole story. “However,” the source characterizes. “She is still a bit delusional and does not believe it will actually happen.” Whoa, there. Delusional is a little harsh. In denial sounds more accurate and a lot more polite. Per the insider: “She thinks Joe will somehow, magically be able to remain in the States.” The source says that Teresa is clinging to this hope “despite what the judges are saying and all the signs and facts that point to the contrary.” The insider goes on to allege that Teresa is “majorly in denial about what is going on.” Ah, there it is. “Teresa is not really an emotional person,” the source says. “And lives in denial with a lot of things in her life.” People who are deeply in touch with their own thoughts and feelings may be more grounded in reality. “But,” the insider notes. “Her oldest daughter Gia realizes this is in fact a reality.” Well Gia is 17 going on 18, and seems to have a good head on her shoulders. Apparently, Teresa’s current behavior has her loved ones a little worried. “Family and friends alike both see that Teresa is out running around like crazy and traveling,” the source reports. It is evident, the insider says, that Teresa is “doing her best to distract herself from what is actually going on.” She’s also a busy person in general, but sure. “They wish she’d stay home more with her girls,” the source says. “As her girls are her world.” “However,” the insider explains. “She’s doing it to numb the pain.” Rumors that Teresa will divorce Joe have persisted since even before the shocking deportation ruling on October 10. But this particular inside source doesn’t see it happening. “Teresa would never leave Joe,” the source claims. “Because she doesn’t want to actually go through a divorce.” Yeah — divorce is zero fun. “But of course,” the insider continues. “She’s angry and resentful.” Joe getting into trouble like this is really doing a number on their whole family. “She’s most concerned about her daughters,” the source affirms. “And making sure they’re OK.” That’s good to hear. Children are resilient, but they lack the coping mechanisms and perspective of adults. Those four girls are going to need a lot of emotional support. Fortunately, as Teresa recently made very clear during an appearance on Good Morning America , she’s there for them. “I have to stay strong,” Teresa stated. Teresa explained: “I have four beautiful daughters and they need their mommy.” We’re usually (though not always) leery of reports on other people’s feelings. Sometimes, even those closest to us, we don’t show our actual state of mind. Maybe Teresa is trying to stay busy because she’s in debt and she has four children and a soon-to-be-deported husband to support. Maybe Teresa is speaking positively about Joe’s chances because she wants to have a good attitude. No one wants to give up on a loved one. And staying positive doesn’t hurt anyone. Even though Sofia Richie, Scott Disick, and Kourtney Kardashian met for what must have been a very awkward dinner last week, Sofia has lingering concerns. Her much older boyfriend shares three kids and years of memories with Kourt. According to a report, Sofia can’t shake the feeling that he’s dumb enough to step out on her and is boinking his ex. According to a report by Heat magazine, Sofia is haunted by the suspicion that Scott is cheating on her with Kourtney. “Sofia puts on a brave face in public,” an insider claims. “But,” the source says. “She seems jealous as hell about Scott and Kourtney recently.” Recently , huh? It sounds like either the honeymoon phase of her romance with Scott is over … or Sofia fears that it is. The insider reports: “People are worried that she’s losing her grip on the situation.” Part of that situation involves Sofia’s feelings and her reactions. Per the report, Sofia recently saw Scott texting Kourtney “right in front of her” and “she hit the roof.” Obviously, he shares three kids with her; texting her is normal. Even so, it can be hard to see the one you loved in contact with their ex. “[Sofia] heavily suspects that Scott and Kourt have been sleeping together,” the source says. “And,” the insider continues. “While she’s able to put it out of her mind most of the time, sometimes it just consumes her.” Apparently Sofia even mustered the resolve to bring it up with Scott. “Sofia confronted him about the situation,” the source claims. “But,” the insider continues. “He fobbed her off and just rolled his eyes.” That sounds rude. Even an absurd accusation still comes from a place of real emotion. “He really takes her for granted,” the source characterizes. “And, the insider claims, Scott “gets upset when she tries to stick up for herself.” Yikes. Apparently, Scott’s expectations are starting to bother even his lovestruck girlfriend. “Sofia’s starting to open her eyes more about how unreasonable Scott is,” the source reports. Fans shouldn’t expect her to cut her losses any time soon, however. “But ultimately,” the insider laments. “She’s still under his spell.” One wonders how long that — or their relationship — will last. First of all, it is pretty clear that this inside source is decidedly in favor of Sofia parting ways with Scott. For that reason alone, we should take this report with a grain of salt. (Also, sometimes, reports are just wrong — that’s how life is. If we find one that we’re sure is accurate, we’ll tell you) But based upon this report, it looks like the truth of the matter falls into one of three categories. One, maybe Scott really is stepping out on Sofia with Kourtney. If so, that’s not fair to Sofia or even the Kourtney. He should .. not do that. Two, maybe Scott is being one-hundred-percent faithful to Sofia and she’s just imagining things and getting worked up over nothing. If so, that’s more or less what Scott should have expected when he started seriously dating a teen. (She’s twenty, now, but she’s still very young, and her emotions may still be overpowering and raw) Then there’s door number three. What if Sofia suspects that Scott is cheating and she’s right, but she’s totally missed the mark on it being with Kourtney? Gosh, that sounds like a nightmare for her.
