Source: Geber86 / Getty NYC Woman Blogs Her Suicide Note A Manhattan woman blogged her own suicide note on her personal web site before she apparently hung herself in her West Village apartment, according to a Daily News report Thursday. Tara Condell, 27, was found dead by cops after not reporting to work. She was reportedly found hanging from the closet door of her W. 10th St. apartment. In a note on her web site titled “I Hate the Word ‘Bye,’ But See You Later Maybe?” Condell said she was “plain old-fashioned tired of feeling tired. I have written this note several times in my head for over a decade, and this one finally feels right. No edits, no overthinking,” she wrote. Condell’s bio describes her as a registered dietitian and nutritionist specializing in general nutrition, weight management, gastrointestinal disease, and geriatric health. From her Instagram page, Tara showed followers how much she loved to travel and try different foods. So sad. In the note, she details her reasoning behind her decision, asking her friends and family not to blame herself. I often felt detached while in a room full of my favorite people; I also felt absolutely nothing during what should have been the happiest and darkest times in my life. No single conversation or situation has led me to make this decision, so at what point do you metaphorically pull the trigger? I’m going to miss doing NYT crosswords (I was getting really good). That one charcuterie board with taleggio AND ‘nduja. Anything Sichuan ma la, but that goes without saying. A perfect plate of carbonara (no cream!). Real true authentic street tacos. Cal-Italian cuisine. Hunan Bistro’s fried rice. The pork belly and grape mini from State Bird Provisions circa 2013. Popeye’s of course. Bambas too. I’m also going to miss unexpected hugs. Al Green’s Simply Beautiful. Cherries in July. Tracing a sleeping eyebrow. Smoking cigarettes. The Golden Gate Bridge at sunset. That first sip of iced cold brew in sticky August. Making eye contact with people walking down the street. When songs feel like they’re speaking to your soul. Jeopardy. Saying I love you. Late night junk food binges. Shooting the shit. And especially the no-destination-in-sight long walks. No GoFundMes, no funeral, no tributes, no doing-too-much please. All I ask now is for you to have one delicious (I mean a really really great) meal in my honor and let me go, no exceptions. It’s selfishly time for me to be happy and I know you can get down with that. Please try to remember me as a whole human you shared memories with and not just my final act. This is not your fault. While the entire Midwest is experiencing a ruthless polar vortex this week, many cities are experiencing historically low temperatures. According to news reports, Chicago broke its city record of -26 degrees Fahrenheit. With news reports rolling in of many homeless individuals losing their lives due to the frigid weather, Vic Mensa stepped up to the plate to take action. Posting on his Instagram, he announced his “SaveMoneySaveLife” foundation is working to help those in need in wake of the record-breaking cold. Teaming up with Healthy Hood Chicago in order to help amplify their collective charitable efforts, the non-profit is seeking donations of all varieties to aid the homeless include sleeping bags, blankets, pillows and food. “As the temperature drops to beneath thirty degrees in the next two days, people will die,” he added, explaining the foundation is looking to feed at least 50 locals with three meals a day “while the weather is at its worst.”

Source: FOX / Getty Jussie Smollett was the victim of a possible hate crime in the early morning hours of Tuesday (January 29). According to TMZ’s report above, the actor arrived in Chicago from New York late Monday, and at around 2 AM he was hungry and went to a Subway. Two men both white and wearing ski masks viciously attacked Jussie as he fought back, but they beat him badly and fractured a rib. The attack was so violent that Smollett had to be admitted and treated at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Over the weekend, the rapper announced that he has acquired a recently-closed location of the burger chain Bud’s Broiler, which he will be rebranding and relaunching with his own fixings. “The Ink dry is dry so now I can talk about it,” Curren$y wrote in the caption of his Instagram post on Saturday while posing in front of the restaurant. “For years me and my loved ones have pulled up to this historic location near City Park to enjoy a tasty burger… recently the place went up for sale…. I was considering purchasing a dawn and a Bentley…. instead I bought a business….. now it’s time to remodel and rebrand… #lifeburgerNola coming soon… @mousa504 we gotta bust another move cuz I still want the Bentley and the dawn tho haha” According to a report published by NOLA.com , a court order forced the former restaurant to close in December after a legal dispute over the franchise agreement between the location’s then-owner and the burger chain’s parent company. Fast forward to current day: the name Life Burger LLC was registered on Friday, January 25 by Mousa Hamdan—Curren$y’s longtime manager and business partner. According to the report, Spitta plans to both remodel and rebrand the building quickly, with Hamdan adding that a meeting this week will determine the actual opening date for the new digs. This brand new business venture is a great start to the rapper’s 2019, who had some pretty notable experiences back in 2018, too. The biggest news last year was Curren$y welcoming his first child with his girlfriend back in November. Career-wise, he also released various projects including Fetti , his long-anticipated collab album with Freddie Gibbs. ThatGrapeJuice broke the news that the “Empire” actor was targeted and beaten late Monday by two unidentified men in ski masks. They add that Jussie had previously received a startling message through mail calling him a “f***t.” “You will die black f***t,” read the note. TMZ has additional details and they’re reporting that the actor was attacked while leaving a local Subway restaurant by white men who yelled, “Aren’t you that f***ot ‘Empire’ n*****?” They then attacked him, fractured a rib, and put a noose around his neck while yelling “This is MAGA country.” The men also reportedly poured bleach on him. Jussie was taken to Northwestern Memorial and discharged. Chicago Police are investigating the incident which seems premeditated.
