A ndrew Gillum at first appeared to have lost Florida’s race for governor to Ron DeSantis . But now, for the first time ever in a Florida governor race, there will be a recount. See Also: Andrew Gillum Barely Loses Florida Governor Race By The Slimmest of Margins “Mr. DeSantis’s victory margin has since shrunk to 0.47 percentage points — three-hundredths of a point below the recount threshold,” the New York Times reported. In Florida, an automatic recount is triggered when there’s a lead of less than one half of a percentage. If the margin of victory is under one-quarter of a percentage point, a hand recount is ordered. “The Florida race for Governor is now in the range where a legal recount is required,” activist Shaun King wrote on Twitter. “The national news media never should’ve called this race in the first place. @ AndrewGillum can still win & tens of thousands of votes are outstanding. Getting closer & closer.” See the latest numbers below: April Ryan on Wednesday was the first one to report a possible recount. The Senate race in Florida will also get a recount . Although Gillum did concede, that was a formality. “I sincerely regret that I couldn’t bring it home for you,” Gillum said to his supporters in an emotional speech Tuesday night, referring to his campaign slogan. But now, the apparent elusive victory win might still be within reach. Hopefully, this was a good sign for Democrat Stacy Abrams , who was pushing for every vote to be counted in Georgia. Despicably, her opponent Brian Kemp’s campaign claimed he won even though no media outlets were calling the race for him, or at all. We are rooting for Gillum and Abrams. Bring it all the way home! Like so many of her co-stars in the Teen Mom franchise, Jenelle Evans has had a fair amount of work done . Unlike those ladies, however, Jenelle is widely despised for her violent, abusive behavior, which means folks on the social media feel much more comfortable commenting on her appearance. Of course, Jenelle only makes the situation worse when she offers up boasts about her beauty that would induce eye-rolls even they came from a top supermodel. And while many of you are spending your time wondering if canned collard greens are acceptable (they’re not!), we’d ask that you consider another highly important issue—your own peace of mind. As beautiful and heartwarming as the holidays can be, tons of folk dread having to reunite with family and friends they’d otherwise avoid. And with good reason—some of us are out here trying to live our best lives, progress, and be a lot less petty. Others (cough, cough) are stuck in that same old toxic bullsh*t. For National Stress Awareness Day today, we’re here to remind you: you absolutely don’t have to partake in any of it. You have the choice to opt out and do your own thing, or pick and choose which close ones you want to celebrate with. But, if you’re not quite there in life just yet and probably will end up at an awkward Thanksgiving dinner table full of judgment and drama, we created a list of folks you can mentally “mute” in order to maintain your sanity for the time being. You can also “mute” them on Instagram…just saying. It’s time to think about you, even if ever so slightly. The Unsolicited Advisor Whoever this irritating “consultant” is in your family or circle of friends, identify them, and put up a mental block pronto. If it’s you , stop being that person who’s constantly all up in everybody else’s business, when you can’t seem to get your own life together. Your opinion was not requested, nor does it help. Damn sis, mind your business! Uncle Creepy If you watch Greenleaf , you know what we’re talking about. That suspect uncle who feels the need to keep commenting on how “grown up” you are—yea, stay away from him. Mooching Ass Moochie Everybody has that cousin who always seems to need something. You can barely have an interaction with Lil Tay Tay without him “trying to see if you got $20” he can “hold.” What does that even mean—are you requesting a loan or handout Lil Tay Tay? Either way, constantly giving your hard-earned money away can become overwhelming. Where your parents at, damn! The Unpredictable Drunk There’s always that uncle or auntie that doesn’t know when to stop drinking. Everyone’s just waiting on a fight to breakout, or that inevitable awkward outburst . Steer clear… with all that positive energy pouring from your veins, you’re sure to become a target this holiday season. Your Overstepping Auntie She needs no introduction. You just went full-time at your job, you barely have a bae, let alone a whole person to procreate with—but your auntie won’t stop asking things like “When you gon’ get married?,” “When you gon’ have a baby?”, “What you waiting for? You ain’t getting any younger.” She doesn’t mean any harm…smile and block her out. The Trump Supporter In times like these , there’s simply no reason to even entertain a person who thinks Trump is making America “great again.” If you’ve already firmly stated your stance on the issues at hand, make a mental note to mentally mute ’em. Stacey Abrams was also targeted with racist robocalls in Georgia shortly after Trump called her unqualified to be governor of Georgia before holding a rally for her GOP rival Brian Kemp . “I heard people were making racist robocalls in my name against Stacey Abrams, who I am one hundred percent for, in Georgia,” Oprah said on Instagram. “I just want to say: Jesus don’t like ugly … And we know what to do about that: vote. Kemp desperately used every trick in the book to win his election. “Voter suppression played a huge role in the silencing of the political voices of the Black community and all people of color,” the NAACP president said. “As we saw in Georgia and Tennessee, Republicans engaged in a massive voter suppression strategy that has included further rolling back the Voting Rights Act.” GA Secretary of State Brian Kemp stooped to new low in his ongoing efforts to keep black people from voting for @staceyabrams . Southern Charm is getting a bit of a casting shakeup, since Thomas Ravenel will stand trial for sexual assault . But what will become of Ashley Jacobs, who was a big enough player last season to be invited to the reunion without Thomas? She says that she’s reached a decision. Ashley Jacobs took to Instagram to share some news with her fans and followers. “After a lot of prayerful consideration, I have decided not to return to Southern Charm next season,” Ashley announced. That’s a bit of a disappointment — but probably the smart decision. “Honestly,” she reveals. “I considered filming again.” Ashley then shares that she thought about it “because I desperately want to tell my side of the story.” That could mean everything from her behavior last season to why she allegedly kept hanging out with Thomas long after he was accused of sexual assault. Ashley points the finger at one factor in particular that prevents her from returning to the show. “But after experiencing how unfair the editing process can be,” Ashley said. “I don’t think I’ll ever have a fair shot.” It is not uncommon for reality stars to say that bad editing shows them in an unfavorable light. That is even the excuse that Thomas himself used to explain his departure from the show. (Bravo has confirmed that they won’t have him back; they were investigating the same allegations that led to Thomas’ arrest) Ashley thanked her fans: “I appreciate you all following me throughout this journey.” But RadarOnline ‘s source says that Ashley returning to the series was never even an option. “Ashley was not a cast member,” the insider points out. She was always there as Thomas’ girlfriend. Reports said that she wasn’t paid for appearing on the show — except for her role on the reunion special. “So,” the source explains. “There would be no conversation of her returning or not.” Another insider accused: “She is not telling the truth.” As we previously reported, Us Weekly ‘s source said something very different. According to that tabloid, there was absolutely talk of bringing back Ashley. “They weren’t specific about what her role would be,” the insider said. “Since she doesn’t have a lot of people to film with.” “They wanted Ashley to work her way back into the friend circle,” the source explained. The insider admitted: “but there was just no guarantee that that would happen.” “Of course everyone wants to see Ashley talk to Kathryn,” the source acknowledged. The source said: “Ashley was in talks with Bravo and the producers.” That flies in the face of RadarOnline ‘s report. Curiously, both tabloids belong to the same parent company. “But,” the insider said, Ashley “didn’t feel like she could represent herself well enough with the way it was being presented to her.” That seems to match up with her statement about being concerned about editing. So, it’s difficult to say whose production source is right or wrong. However, it may be for the best that Ashley is saying goodbye to the series. Not only was her relationship with Thomas deeply toxic, but being a reality star did not sit well with her. Ashley famously lost weight and admitted that she was a nervous wreck from being on television. Self-care is important, folks. Fame isn’t worth losing your health.
