It’s been nearly two years since the world learned the shocking news that reality star Josh Duggar molested five young girls , four of whom were his sisters. In the months that followed, fans of Josh’s family would bear witness to a number of appalling revelations, including the fact that Josh’s parents helped cover up his crimes . Amazingly (and disconcertingly), Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar have recovered from the scandal and have even been granted a second chance at TV stardom with TLC’s Counting On. Obviously, Josh hasn’t been shown the same forgiveness. Of course, the fact that he was caught up in a second sex scandal later that same year certainly didn’t help his cause. Just three months after the world learned that Josh had molested his sisters, it was revealed that the 28-year-old father of four had cheated on his wife, Anna Duggar , using paid accounts on Ashley Madison, a website designed to facilitate affairs between married men and women. In all likelihood, audiences never would’ve forgiven Josh’s first round of indiscretions, but the second revelation put the nail in his reputation’s coffin. The cheating allegations confirmed that he’s a man with some very severe issues and that the his family made the right choice by excluding him from their their second-chance reality series. But while Josh will likely never return to television, he’s still doing quite well for himself these days. Josh’s sexual misconduct derailed his career as a D.C. lobbyist, but he’s landed on his feet back home in Arkansas. Josh has taken over the family business of repairing and re-selling used cars. If you watch Counting On online , you know that the side-business has been tremendously lucrative for several members of the Duggar clan. On Saturday, the Duggar Family News Facebook page confirmed that Josh has expanded his mini-empire with a second location. “Josh’s new car lot is up and running,” the source wrote. The proprietor the page reveled in Josh’s downfall (as we all should), writing: “Josh is back to his used car selling roots after a quick flirtation with politics and sex workers in DC. “I wonder how he is settling down to living a boring life in Arkansas after all the excitement he came to know in DC.” The writer adds: “I recall his Instagram photo taken from the balcony of John Boehner’s office overlooking the National Mall and think all he’s taking photos of now are 20 year old cars with high mileage.” Yes, it’s certainly been a precipitous fall from grace for Josh, but the sad fact is, he’s still doing much better than just about anyone in his hometown who doesn’t share his last name. Several sources close to the family have estimated Josh’s net worth at roughly $200,000. Now, that’s certainly a far cry from Jim Bob Duggar’s net worth , but Josh certainly isn’t struggling. At this point in time, thanks to his many, many legendary film roles , his fragrances, and his face, it’s pretty safe to say that Antonio Banderas is an international treasure. But at 56 years old, he’s not as young as he used to be. And no one can say that the man hasn’t done a whole lot of living . So it shouldn’t have come as surprise when Antonio revealed last night that he suffered a heart attack back in January, you know? But still, it really, really did. As you may remember, we heard back in January that he was taken to a hospital just outside London because he’d began feeling pains in his chest while exercising. At the time, his rep claimed in a statement that “Antonio was released that same day after doctors performed a check-up which confirmed his good health.” Sounds like no big deal, right? Wrong. Last night, Antonio made an appearance at the Malaga Film Festival, and he admitted what really went down. “I suffered a heart attack on January 26th,” he explained. “It was a benign attack, it hasn’t caused any permanent damage and now I’m in a recovery period.” “It was something that happens every day to a lot of people,” he added. “I didn’t hide it, but I didn’t want it to receive more importance than those suffered by other people .” He also said that though doctors implanted three stents to help out with those narrowed arteries in his heart, “It wasn’t as dramatic as it was made out to be.” And while it sounds pretty damn dramatic to us, apparently he really did get released that same day. He was also well enough to pose for a selfie with his girlfriend, Nikole Kimpel, and to throw it up on Instagram just a few days after the heart attack. “Enjoying nature after a startle,” he captioned the photo. Bless his heart. The issue that brought on the heart attack, he explained last night, was likely the stress he’s experienced for decades. After all, he’s worked a lot during his career, and it’s involved an unbelievable amount of traveling. “I’m now reviewing a lot of things,” he said, to get his health under control. And it’s a good thing, too — just last week, he reportedly experienced more chest pains, bad enough to go to another hospital. He claimed that that hospital visit was just a check-up, but if he’s able to hide a heart attack for two months, we wouldn’t hold our breath on that one. Feel better, Antonio. Please.
Good news — or no, actually beautiful, adorable, precious, life-affirming news. Samira Wiley and Lauren Morelli are now married! Lauren is a writer for Orange is the New Black, and Samira, of course , played the beloved character Poussey. The Instagram page for Martha Stewart Weddings first shared that stunning photo from the wedding — seriously, so beautiful — but Samira and Lauren both reposted the image. “About last night …” Samira hashtagged hers, while Lauren wrote “Wifeys for lifey.” Are you dying yet? Just wait. Both brides wore custom Christian Siriano pieces, with Samira going with a classic gown and Lauren choosing that amazing caped jumpsuit. The wedding took place in Palm Springs, the same place Lauren proposed last October. And then, if you can even imagine, the couple made their grand entrance at the reception to the classic Justin Bieber hit, “Baby.” It all sounds so lovely, right? Lovely and fun and a beautiful little piece of happiness amidst all the overwhelming sadness happening in the world right now. Samira and Lauren began dating in 2014, shortly after Lauren filed for divorce from her husband of two years. She explained what happened with her first marriage in a powerful essay she wrote for Mic in May of 2014 titled “While Writing for ‘Orange is the New Black,’ I Realized I Am Gay.” Lauren wrote that she began questioning her sexuality just a few months after marrying her husband. “Five months after my wedding,” she recalled, “I flew to New York to start production on my first episode of Orange, and from that moment my life fell into a parallel rhythm with Piper’s story in a way that went from interesting to terrifying in a matter of months.” She’s referring to Piper, the main character of Orange is the New Black, who goes to prison engaged to a man but ends up reuniting with an old girlfriend. “I was so deep in my own self-doubt that I constantly felt like a fraud,” Lauren wrote. “I was sure it was bleeding into my writing. How could it not?” “I was married to a man, but I wasn’t straight.” She realized she was gay during one of her first days on set. Afterwards, she tried googling “How do you know if you’re a lesbian?”, she tried to figure out if it was her birth control, and she actually became suicidal. From the time of her realization to the time of her writing the essay, things had gotten a lot better. She seems to have an amicable relationship with her now ex-husband, and she admitted that she “fell in love with a woman on set.” Now we know who that woman is, and it’s clear that they’re extraordinarily happy together.
