Source: AFP Contributor / Getty I have a feeling that Disney and Nike are doing everything in their power to piss off racist people and I’m all for it. If you don’t know Disney announced that Halle Bailey will be playing Ariel in the live-action remake of The Little Mermaid and that announcement sparked outrage online from some people who felt like Ariel shouldn’t be black. Those folks quickly started posting under the hashtag #NotMyAriel to voice their disdain on the decision. A lot of other great people on Twitter took to stick up for Halle against people who can’t see progress. One user named Lea Toft tweeted, “As a danish person, I have some bad news for all the people who’s angry, that a black woman is playing Ariel. Danish people don’t have fins either, nor do we live underwater – we can, and do, however have different ethnicities” As a danish person, I have some bad news for all the people who’s angry, that a black woman is playing Ariel. Danish people don’t have fins either, nor do we live underwater – we can, and do, however have different ethnicities #notmyariel — Lea Toft (@MuffinFanatic) July 5, 2019 Oh, burn. Now Disney has made a statement in the matter in a witty post about their pick of Halle, dedicated to the poor unfortunate souls who don’t like Halle. “Yes. The original author of The Little Mermaid was Danish. Ariel … is a mermaid. She lives in an underwater kingdom in international waters and can legit swim wherever she wants (even though that often upsets King Triton, absolute zaddy),” Freeform’s post read. “But for the sake of argument, let’s say that Ariel, too, is Danish.” “Danish mermaids can be black because Danish *people* can be black. Ariel can sneak up to the surface at any time with her pals Scuttle and the *ahem* Jamaican crab Sebastian (sorry, Flounder!) and keep that bronze base tight,” the text post continued. “Black Danish people, and this mer-folk, can also *genetically* (!!!) have red hair.” View this post on Instagram An open letter to the Poor, Unfortunate Souls: ______ #TheLittleMermaid #Ariel #MyAriel A post shared by Freeform (@freeform) on Jul 6, 2019 at 6:16pm PDT This has been a bad July for racist people as Nike also pulled a sneaker with America’s first flag because it has been used to promote white supremacy in the past after Colin Kaepernick brought that to their attention. That decision caused people to burn their Nikes once again but we think Nike and Disney will both be fine in the future. Nike becoming a brand that routinely upsets racists makes me think they’ll be just fine — Kazeem Famuyide (@RealLifeKaz) July 2, 2019 As for The Little Mermaid, this movie is shaping up to look just like modern-day America with Rob Marshall directing, and Melissa McCarthy and Awkafina in talks for roles in this movie.

The Academy-award nominated director announced on Instagram that he will be wrapping the FOX series up with a “movie of the week.” “We’re going to make something real special for you to scream about with all of our cast members — even the dead ones.” He teased that the finale movie will be a “two hour GAG!” Text “RICKEY” to 71007 to join the Rickey Smiley Morning Show mobile club for exclusive news. Daniels promised that the original cast would be returning for the TV flick including Ryan Destiny, Brittany O’Grady, Jude Demorest, Queen Latifah, Brandy, Amiyah Scott and Quincy Brown. After premiering back in December of 2016, Star lasted three seasons. The ratings were satisfactory during its time, but ratings dropped 11 percent during the third season. After it was decided by network execs that Empire would be prioritized because it was going into its last season, Star was axed from the lineup. “We looked at our priorities and were trying to prioritize giving Empire the send-off it deserves,” FOX Entertainment CEO Charlie Collier told Deadline . “The move [of Empire ] to 9 p.m, made it a challenge because Star was always the lead-out from Empire and obviously we don’t have the 10 p.m hour, so it was another tough choice in a year where we were prioritizing Empire and obviously some of the other shows that we’ve put on the schedule.” After its cancellation, Daniels pitched Star to Amazon, BET and OWN but he was unsuccessful. The pregnant Amy Duggar loves to share her joy with fans on social media. Sadly, social media is full of trolls as well as fans. Now 26 weeks pregnant with her first child, the niece of Jim Bob Duggar has been sharing plenty of pictures of the journey. Which is great, except for the timing of such photo documentation – at least according to the haters who lurk on the Internet. After all, last week saw the miscarriage of Joy-Anna and Austin Forsyth ’s baby girl, an event that shook the family to its core. All miscarriages are devastating, but this one was more surprising than most, as Joy was just six weeks behind her cousin. Joy shared pictures of the stillborn child , which she and Austin had named, in a heartwarming, tragic and controversial post. Because of this, Amy’s most recent pic of her growing belly (top) sparked comments from fans who called it disrespectful. The image of Amy, at a flea market in Arkansas holding her baby bump, was captioned simply, “nursery shopping today!” Critics pounced on this, suggesting that she should stop with the baby posts for at least a couple of days out of respect. Supportive fans countered that she shouldn’t have to stop being happy about her own pregnancy. Amy herself agreed. Amy, 32, said that she won’t be apologizing for what is happening in her life, despite the obvious pain she feels for Joy-Anna. Moreover, she fired back: “Also, after what my family has been through how dare you say that to me.” “This baby is bringing me so much happiness, do you even know how many tears I have cried lately?” In addition to Joy-Anna’s loss, Amy was referring to her grandmother Mary Duggar’s death in a tragic drowning accident. They were extremely close; Amy once mentioned that she and Mary would speak or see one another a few times a day. She was crushed by this loss, as well as heartbroken for Joy, and also for Lauren Duggar’s miscarriage last October. Basically, she’s dealt with a lot. She can be sad and happy at the same time. We are only human and grieve in different ways. Amy loves her family. Everyone else can step off. It’s that simple. Amy marches to her own beat, just as she always has. No Instagram trolls are going to change that. View Slideshow: Amy Duggar Swimsuit Photos: Girl Gone (Sort of) WILD! She and her husband Dillon King are still allowed to enjoy their own happiness, and aren’t about to stop posting about it.

She's not starting or continuing any feuds and she's just kicking back and savoring every second with her family, right? HA! WRONG! Evans has already hurled shade at Amber Portwood and Nathan Griffith, the latter of whom is the father of Kaiser and who was able to spend more time with his son than ever before after Kaiser was removed from Jenelle's home. What has he said in the wake of their return? And how has Evans fired back? Scroll down to find out! 1. Let’s Set the Scene, Shall We? As you may have heard, some extremely heartbreaking news came from the Duggar family last week. Joy-Anna had a miscarriage at 20 weeks pregnant. The majority of miscarriages happen in the first trimester, but a couple of weeks ago, Joy and Austin went in for an anatomy scan. As they explained it on their Instagram page, that’s where their doctor told them that the baby’s heart was no longer beating . “Although we don’t understand why,” they wrote, “God has given us unexplainable peace and comfort during this very difficult time.” “Yes, it still hurts and we have cried countless tears, but we know that we can trust the Lord.” They said that “We don’t grieve as those who have no hope because we trust that we will see this little one again.” The ultrasound that showed the loss of the baby also showed that the baby was a girl, and Joy and Austin named her Annabell Elise. “Annabell means ‘God has favored me,’ and Elise means ‘God satisfies,'” they said. “What a precious thing to know that when our daughter opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was the face of Jesus.” They also asked their followers to “Please pray for continued healing, not only physically but for our hearts as well.” It’s just an unimaginably tragic situation, right? Because the miscarriage happened so late in the pregnancy, Joy had to deliver the baby stillborn, which had to have been just devastating. In the pictures she shared after that delivery , the pain is evident on her face. Luckily, she has such a large family to support her through this as best they can. Her mother, Michelle, and sister Jill were there with her in those photos, and other family members have been very vocal about paying their respects. On Joy and Austin’s Instagram post, Jessa wrote “We love y’all so much and we grieve with you over this loss. I love the name you chose and the meaning behind it.” “Annabell Elise will forever be in our hearts.” Anna told them that she was “heartbroken” about what had happened, and that “We are so thankful for the joy her life brought and we look forward to seeing Annabell when we see Jesus in heaven.” Jeremy, Jinger’s husband, said “We love you and are praying for you. Your trust in the Lord throughout these days has inspired me to know God more intimately.” He expressed a very similar sentiment to Anna’s with “I look forward to meeting Annabell Elise with you in heaven.” But family members weren’t the only ones offering their condolences. Tori Roloff took some time to reach out to Joy and Austin, too. On Instagram, Tori wrote “Austin and Joy my heart just absolutely breaks for you two. I am so sorry. You are in my prayers.” She added “How blessed she is that she gets to be with Jesus and she gets to call you two mom and dad.” It’s so kind of Tori to leave a message like this, especially when many people in her position may prefer to not even think about such heartbreak — remember, she’s pregnant right now . Hopefully Joy and Austin saw her comment, and all of the other sweet comments about this tragedy. Hollywood is reacting in shock and sorrow to the death of a young actor today. As previously reported, Cameron Boyce is dead at the very young age of 20. The Disney Channel star, best known for roles in Jessie and Descendents, passed away in his sleep after suffering a seizure. “It is with a profoundly heavy heart that we report that this morning we lost Cameron,” the actor’s family said in a statement on Sunday, adding in awful detail: He passed away in his sleep due to a seizure which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated. The world is now undoubtedly without one of its brightest lights, but his spirit will live on through the kindness and compassion of all who knew and loved him. We are utterly heartbroken and ask for privacy during this immensely difficult time as we grieve the loss of our precious son and brother. In the wake of this tragic news going viral, a number of stars have taken to social media to express their sadness and send their condolences. And one of the most prominent tributes was penned by Adam Sandler. “Too young. Too sweet. Too funny. Just the nicest, most talented, and and most decent kid around,” Sandler wrote on Twitter. He appeared opposite Boyce in both Grown Ups and Grown Ups 2. Added the long-time star: “Loved that kid. Cared so much about his family. Cared so much about the world. Thank you, Cameron, for all you gave to us. So much more was on the way. All our hearts are broken. Thinking of your amazing family and sending our deepest condolences.” Just so heartbreaking all around. Elsewhere, director Kenny Ortega penned the following on Instagram: My Love, Light and Prayers go out to Cameron and his Family. Cameron brought Love, Laughter and Compassion with him everyday I was in his presence. His talent, immeasurable. His kindness and generosity, overflowing. It has been an indescribable honor and pleasure to know and work with him. I will see you again in all things loving and beautiful my friend. I will search the stars for your light. Rest In Peace Cam. You will always be My Forever Boy. There was also the following from Charles Esten, who appeared on Jessie as Boyce’s character’s dad. “My family and I are devastated today, by the loss of our young and amazing friend, Cameron Boyce. Years before I was blessed to play his father on JESSIE, we were blessed to know him and his wonderful family at the elementary school our kids all attended together,” the Nashville alum began in a series of Tweets. He continued: “It was there we were introduced to his endless talent, kindness, and joy for living. At his very 1st talent show, little Cameron’s dancing lit up the stage, and left everyone on their feet, cheering. “It was clear to all that he was destined to be the star he would soon become. And yet, Cameron never carried himself with anything but kindness, humility, effortless grace, and great humor. “Even as his star ascended with JESSIE, and he began to receive the type of fame that can change people, I never saw that change. Not even a little.” And this from actress and Disney Channel co-star Skai Jackson: “I don’t even know where to start… I am at a loss for words. I never thought in a million years I would be writing this. “Cam, you were one of a kind. My heart will be forever broken. I am so happy that I got to spend almost everyday with you on set, you gave the best hugs. I wish I would have hugged you tighter when I saw you a couple of months ago. “Thank you so much for being the big brother I never had… I am so distraught and I cannot stop crying! I love you so much… fly high, Gods best Angel.” Boyce made his acting debut at the age of nine and then was cast in Grown Ups at the age of 11. We’ll conclude this post with these words from Gregg Sulkin: Heartbroken. Lost for words. I had known Cameron Boyce for many years. He was always polite. Always respectful and always a class act. In fact I was going to message him a couple weeks ago to tell him that I wanted to be in each other’s lives more. Now I wish I had sent that message. Just so he personally knew how highly I thought of him and how much admiration I had for him. My heart goes out to his family & his close friends. Cameron, you were and still are a star. May god bless you in heaven. You will be missed down here. View Slideshow: Celebrities Who Died in 2019: In Memoriam

Source: Dutch Press Photo/WENN.com / WENN Nicki Minaj Addresses Lack Of Support From Lady Rappers And Media Nicki Minaj is out to protect her legacy in a world where folks conveniently forget their Fairy Rap Godmothers . Last night, the Queen Barb went on a lengthy rant addressing the lack of support she’s being shown from fans and media. She wrote: “12 years ago I dropped my 1st mixtape. Wrote every single word on every single song. I was so proud of that, eventually the Barbz were all wearing pink hair, Chinese bangs, & Barbie chains. Colorful wigs came all the way back in style. Everyone became Barbies & Dolls.” It seems like Nicki’s biggest gripe is that she’s omitted from conversations when it comes to her impact. It’s well known that Cardi B doesn’t consider her an “influence.” Recently, Barbs attacked Meg Thee Stallion for omitting Nicki from her Top 5, but the rapper clarified in a video that she pays homage to Nicki. Onika continued, noting how its “cool” to pretend she wasn’t influential: “I always shouted out my influences in my interviews. Now a days, it’s become cool to pretend u weren’t influenced by other artists. S/O to the ones big enough to do it: Kash, Asian, Cuban, Saweetie, Meg, Malibu, YOUNG MA, Ms. Banks, Lady Leshurr, etc. No female rapper (other than Trina) did a song w/me or congratulated me on my billboard accomplishments. I didn’t mind. I never felt they were obligated to do so. Just like Beyoncé isn’t obligated to congratulate or collaborate with Normani, etc.” Obviously, Nicki’s success wasn’t due to a social media wave and notes that she came up organically, putting in massive amounts of work to top the Billboard charts. “I never had a crusade by radio stations, influencers & blogs to make my song number 1 when Anaconda was #2 on the Hot 100. I never had a group of men in the studio writing my songs for me so it took a while between albums. Please stop these write ups about what I didn’t do. Y’all are rlly sick & ima call y’all out one by one on Queen Radio. Most of yall doing these write ups have never fought for anything in life. You just sit on the sidelines & watch the doers do!!!! To my fans; I love, cherish you, adore you, and thank you. God bless you.” View this post on Instagram A post shared by Barbie® (@nickiminaj) on Jul 5, 2019 at 11:01am PDT Nicki says she plans to name names on her Queen Radio podcast, so you can’t bet she gets specific with who ticked her off soon.
