False reports have been spreading all month long that the streaming service would be getting rid of Friends as of January 1, 2019. But as we all know, Friends fans will do anything to keep Chandler, Ross, Rachel and the rest of the crew on air as long as humanly possible. According to Entertainment Weekly , “A Change.org petition was even launched begging Netflix to keep the title, calling its removal “unfair, unacceptable and downright inhumane.” Although Netflix had no intention on getting rid of the popular show, they must’ve got wind of the backlash, because the following day it was reported that the streaming service paid $100 million to keep Friends throughout 2019. EW added, “Netflix bought the rights to Friends back in 2014 in a massive deal, shelling out $118 million for the rights for all 10 seasons of the former NBC series. Plus the service digitally remastered every episode for HD streaming. Netflix introduced Friends to a new generation where it became popular all over again as a dose of ’90s nostalgia.” But is it just us, or are there far better shows out there that would probably cost much less than Friends and bring in twice as many viewers? The service has also been criticized for getting rid of content that were predominantly geared toward people of color. @AlsWulf tweeted , “Netflix out here dropping amazing shows that have a positive impact on the minority community like The Get Down due to it being “too expensive”, but drop $100mil on Friends because a certain demographic complained.” @CandaceJeanne also brought up a great point. She wrote, “Dearest @Netflix: Think of all the projects from women, people of color, LGBTQ folks and more that you could fund with that additional $60 million. (I mean, I don’t know how much it costs to make a show but I’m gonna guess it’s at least more than one.)” If Netflix knew what was good for them, they’d listen to millenials and POC — a.k.a. their central audience —about what content folks would like to see on the service. Gary And Lisa Wu Talk Juicy’s Affinity For Male Strippers Juicy was the subject of controversy of “Rickey Smiley For Real ” after two of her friends wondered what was really up with her and male exotic dancers. The self-proclaimed “Queen of Atlanta” apparently has a new boo which is causing Gary with da Tea some concern. Gary then does some digging with Lisa Wu and finds some racy photos and videos of Juicy’s man (and his man meat) on the Internet. Gary then lets it slip that Juicy once managed male strippers. “When Juicy a** was in Dallas she owned a d*** stripper troupe. She owned some strippers. Things aren’t looking so good for Kevin Hart right now. Don’t feel bad though, it’s all 100% his own fault. There’s a whole, whole lot to unpack here, so let’s just get to it, all right? Earlier this week, it was announced that Kevin would be acting as host for next year’s Academy Awards. Many people took issue with this because of several homophobic comments he’s made in the past . In 2011, he tweeted “Yo if my son comes home & try’s 2 play with my daughters doll house I’m going 2 break it over his head & say n my voice ‘stop that’s gay’.” In 2010, he made another tweet asking why Damien Wayans’ profile picture looks “like a gay bill board for AIDS.” There are actually dozens of awful tweets like these — he used to be very fond of calling people “gay” as an insult, and of the phrase “no homo.” He also used to be very quick to call someone a “f-g.” Kevin did stop talking like this on Twitter in 2011, which was also the year he got famous when one of his stand-up specials got popular — make of that what you will. He also made questionable statements during a 2010 comedy special. “One of my biggest fears is my son growing up and being gay,” he said then. “That’s a fear.” “Keep in mind, I’m not homophobic. Be happy. Do what you want to do. But me, as a heterosexual male, if I can prevent my son from being gay, I will.” So all of this is pretty bad, right? This isn’t the first time these comments have resurfaced, but since hosting the Oscars is such a big deal, this is the first time they’ve gotten this much attention. And Kevin did not appreciate it. In an Instagram post he made yesterday, he implored anyone reading to “Stop looking for reasons to be negative.” He wrote that he is “truly happy,” and that there is “NOTHING” that will change that. “If u want to search my history or past and anger yourselves with what u find that is fine with me,” he continued. “You LIVE and YOU LEARN & YOU GROW & YOU MATURE. Please take your negative energy and put it into something constructive.” The whole post was weird because he was criticizing other people for being upset over the genuinely terrible things that he said . And his next post was even weirder. Several hours after the previous post, he shared this video: Kevin Hart: I Won’t Apologize for Homophobic Jokes! As he explained, he’d just gotten a call from the Academy “and that call basically said, ‘Kevin, apologize for your tweets of old, or we’re going to have to move on and find another host.'” He refused to apologize. He refused because, as he said, “I’ve addressed this several times. This is not the first time this has come up. I’ve addressed it/ I’ve spoken on it.” “I’ve said where the rights and wrongs were. I’ve said who I am now versus who I was then. I’ve done it. I’ve done it.” And because of that, he’s not going to “continue to go back and tap into the days of old, when I’ve moved on and I’m in a completely different space in my life.” He also said that since people took the time to find all those awful things he said, they could have also spent time to find newer statements he’s made discussing why he made those comments in the first place. “We’re feeding the internet trolls and we reward them,” he complained. “I’m not going to do it, man.” He finished by saying that regardless of what happens next, he’s “thankful for the opportunity” to host the Academy Awards. So what happened next? He got fired. Well, he didn’t get fired — late last night, he tweeted “I have made the choice to step down from hosting this year’s Oscars.” To elaborate, he wrote “This is because I do not want to be a distraction on a night that should be celebrated by so many amazing talented artists.” And despite what he said in that video that he shared shortly before these tweets, he did apologize for his old comments. “I sincerely apologize to the LGBTQ community for my insensitive words from my past,” Kevin said. “I’m sorry that I hurt people.” “I am evolving and want to continue to do so. My goal is to bring people together not tear us apart.” He concluded with “Much love & appreciation to the Academy. I hope we can meet again.” All right, so Kevin is no longer hosting the Oscars because he made several offensive comments in the past that he refused to apologize for. It all seems so silly, doesn’t it? The Academy Awards are a very big deal, and it’s also a very big deal for a comedian to be asked to host them. On top of that, all those things he said really were terrible, no matter how long ago he said them or what his intentions were or how much he’s grown since then. So why was it such a huge deal for him to apologize? Especially when he ended up apologizing anyway after already losing the job. Kevin Hart, just do better next time, OK? It sincerely is not as difficult as you seem to think it is.

From the very beginning of their relationship rumors of Travis Scott cheating on Kylie Jenner have been circulating non-stop. Many believed the rapper was caught redhanded when a photo that purported to show Travis hooking up with another woman made the rounds on social media. It was later revealed that the pics were staged by an internet “prankster” named Christian Adam. Even lamer than Adam’s prank is the fact that he justified his act of supreme douchebaggery by describing it as a high-minded “social experiment.” The goal, he claimed, was to prove how easy it is to “fool the internet.” “Never believe anything you see on the internet :)” Christian wrote on Instagram. “(DISCLAIMER: this video was NOT made to intentionally hurt Travis Scott, Kylie Jenner or the entire Kardashian family in ANY way shape or form).” Well, we guess he was successful — but it seems he wasn’t terribly bothered by the number of people he would need to hurt in order to prove his point. You can punch someone in the face and claim it wasn’t your intention to hurt them, and any harm was purely accidental, but the damage remains the same. Not surprisingly, Kylie was quick to denounce the prank: “Idk if this is really a social experiment to some people but you’re messing with real people, real relationships, real family. I’m happy my relationship is strong because this is getting out of hand,” she wrote on Instagram. “The internet scares me sometimes for real.” Big sister Kim Kardashian came to Kylie’s defense, bashing Christian in an irate tweet: “I hate that I am bringing attention to this but this is absolutely disgusting that you would find this funny to mess with Travis & Kylie who just started a family together. “This is really damaging to relationships, families and is just so wrong!” Adding a note of levity to this otherwise dark episode, Scott addressed the prank in hilarious fashion: “I don’t be on balcony wit no thots. That s–t lame. Try again u trollssss. Me and my wifey sturdy. First, let’s discuss the orange elephants in the room that are Donald Trump and his wife Melania . It was all good and Presidentially friendly until the current Chief Of Staff and the oblivious FLOTUS walked in. Bill and Hilary Clinton didn’t even shake the Trump’s hands when they greeted everyone. You could cut the tension in that cathedral with a knife. Literally, the entire first row’s face turned sour when controversial couple walked in. But they couldn’t be too rude because, according to reports, the Bush family promised Trump that he wouldn’t be criticized in the eulogies if he attended the funeral. A source told The Washington Post that the late President Bush “wouldn’t want anyone there to feel uncomfortable, including the incumbent president”. FOX News Anchor Chris Wallace says it’s the wildest thing he’s ever seen, telling reporters , “I have to say I was struck when President Trump and Melania Trump came to the front row that it was as if a chill had descended on that front row,” Wallace said. “You had seen a lot of chatty talk between the Clintons and the Obamas, the Carters. But when Donald Trump sat down, the greeting that he was given by Barack Obama and Michelle Obama was about as cool as it could have been. It seemed like they exchanged hello, good morning,” he added. “That was it, and at that point they all stopped talking to each other.” He added, “ There are some ill feelings among some of the people in the front row, and I have to say that where you usually have a president’s club, and even people that ran against and maybe one beat the other, that doesn’t seem to have been extended to President Trump when you see them sitting in that front row.” Chiiiile. But enough about the funeral drama. The most talked about part of the entire service was when George W. Bush, who is mourning the loss of his father, made his way to the front row just to give Michelle Obama a piece of candy.
