Kevin Hart has stirred up some controversy within the gay community. In an interview yesterday with Power 105’s “The Breakfast Club,” the comedian admitted that he turned down the role of Alpha Chino in Tropic Thunder because, well… “The part was way [gayer] in the beginning. The dude… he was doing a lot of stuff in the draft that I read. It was real flagrant. It was a lot of stuff, and I was like, I can’t do this.” Kevin Hart: Why I Could Never Go Gay Hart made a point to say he’s “politically correct to the gay community” and that “I respect and appreciate anything and everything you all do. And as people, I love you.” But some are understandably upset over how Hart expounded on his comments. Could he ever portray a homosexual character on screen? “No. Not because I have any ill will or disrespect,” Hart said. “It’s because I feel like… I don’t think I’m going to dive into that role 100 percent, because of the insecurities about myself trying to play the part. “Does that make sense? Like, what I think people are going to think while I’m trying to do this is going to stop me from playing the part the way I’m supposed to.” Points for honesty, but critics will call out Hart for putting his own insecurities ahead of doing what he can to help social progress in this area. What do you think of Hart’s take? Is it understandable? Is it selfish? Does it make him homophobic? Take a look at Hart having a dance-off against Josh Gad and then react to his interview below. ISIS Hacks Governmental Social Media A group claiming to be affiliated with ISIS hacked US Central Command’s Twitter account and YouTube channel — posting pro-ISIS messages and what they claimed were classified Government documents. Via Business Insider : A group describing itself as the “CyberCaliphate” gained control of the official Twitter and YouTube pages of US Central Command (CENTCOM) on Monday and began posting messages supportive of the jihadist group Islamic State (also known as ISIS). “We can confirm that the CENTCOM Twitter and YouTube accounts were compromised earlier today,” CENTCOM said in a statement after it regained control of the accounts. “We are taking appropriate measures to address the matter. We have no further information to provide at this time.” The hack occurred at the same time US President Barack Obama was giving a speech on cybersecurity at the offices of the Federal Trade Commission in Washington, D.C. On Twitter, the group posted a message that declared “Pentagon networks hacked”; it indicated it broke into military “networks and personal devices.” In the message, the CyberCaliphate identified itself as being “under the auspices of ISIS.” It included links to what it described as leaked military files. It then began posting screenshots it described as “China scenarios.” A few hours after their initial comment, CENTCOM released another statement wherein they indicated confidential files were not leaked. “Our initial assessment is that no classified information was posted. When we have more, we’ll be sure to let folks know,” the statement said. The New York Times previously noted that “many of the documents posted by the hackers appear to be public records.” Hmmm. First “The Interview” fiasco, now this…looks like hacking is the new terrorism.

Wow… So he’s a snitch who takes bribes!? If we didn’t already think Al Sharpton was shady enough, the NY Post dropped a detailed report over the weekend that explains how he gets money for NOT throwing cororations under the bust for racism: For more than a decade, corporations have shelled out thousands of dollars in donations and consulting fees to Sharpton’s National Action Network. What they get in return is the reverend’s supposed sway in the black community or, more often, his silence. Sony Pictures co-chair Amy Pascal met with the activist preacher after leaked emails showed her making racially charged comments about President Obama. Pascal was under siege after a suspected North Korean cyberattack pressured the studio to cancel its release of “The Interview,” which depicts the assassination of dictator Kim Jong-un. No payments to NAN have been announced, but Sharpton and Pascal agreed to form a “working group” to focus on racial bias in Hollywood. Sharpton notably did not publicly assert his support for Pascal after the meeting — what observers say seems like a typical Sharpton “shakedown” in the making. Pay him in cash or power, critics say, and you buy his support or silence. “Al Sharpton has enriched himself and NAN for years by threatening companies with bad publicity if they didn’t come to terms with him. Put simply, Sharpton specializes in shakedowns,” said Ken Boehm, chairman of the National Legal & Policy Center, a Virginia-based watchdog group that has produced a book on Sharpton. And Sharpton, who now boasts a close relationship with Obama and Mayor Bill de Blasio, is in a stronger negotiating position than ever. “Once Sharpton’s on board, he plays the race card all the way through,” said a source who has worked with the Harlem preacher. “He just keeps asking for more and more money.” We figured he was up to something but this just seems so greedy and unjust. We just hope some of that fortune being funneled into Nationa Action Network actually goes toward helping the companies that need and want them. Here’s more details: Sharpton raised $1 million for NAN at his 60th birthday bash in October, with donations rolling in from unions and a corporate roster of contributors including AT&T, McDonald’s, Verizon and Walmart. Companies have long gotten in line to pay Sharpton. Macy’s and Pfizer have forked over thousands to NAN, as have General Motors, American Honda and Chrysler. NAN had repeatedly and without success asked GM for donations for six years beginning in August 2000, a GM spokesman told The Post. Then, in 2006, Sharpton threatened a boycott of GM over the planned closing of an African-American-owned dealership in The Bronx. He picketed outside GM’s Fifth Avenue headquarters. GM wrote checks to NAN for $5,000 in 2007 and another $5,000 in 2008. Sharpton targeted American Honda in 2003 for not hiring enough African-Americans in management positions. “We support those that support us,” Sharpton wrote to the company. “We cannot be silent while African-Americans spend hard-earned dollars with a company that does not hire, promote or do business with us in a statistically significant manner.” Two months later, car company leaders met with Sharpton, and Honda began to sponsor NAN’s events. The protests stopped. Sharpton landed a gig as a $25,000-a-year adviser to Pepsi after he threatened a consumer boycott of the soda company in 1998, saying its ads did not portray African-Americans. He held the position until 2007. Do you think what Sharpton is doing is wrong or is it how business is done these days? WENN
Nicki is getting personal… Nicki Minaj Opens Up On Teenage Abortion In Rolling Stone Magazine Nicki’s been keeping it super raw and emotional while on promo tour for The Pinkprint . The rapper opened up on one of her latest tracks, “ All Things Go, ” discussing the pregnancy she terminated as a teenager. She recently sat with Rolling Stone and explained her choice as well as her decision to share it with her fans. Via MailOnline : To the world she’s a fiery rap superstar at the top of her game. But Nicki Minaj has revealed a secret heartache that has hung over her like a shadow for years. The 32-year-old has spoken openly for the first time about having an abortion when she was a teenager in a candid new cover interview with Rolling Stone magazine. Detailing the horror of making the decision to terminate a pregnancy at such a young age, she said: ‘I thought I was going to die. I was a teenager. It was the hardest thing I’d ever gone through. ‘[It’s] haunted me all my life. It’d be contradictory if I said I wasn’t pro-choice. I wasn’t ready. I didn’t have anything to offer a child.’ The star first hinted at the subject in her 2008 track Autobiography, in which she referred to herself as ‘mommy’. The topic returned to the spotlight earlier this month when she showed off her vulnerable side in new track All Things Go. Referring to a child who would have been 16, the same age as her beloved younger brother Micaiah, she raps: ‘My child with Aaron would have been 16, any minute/ So in some ways I feel like Caiah is the both of them/ It’s like he’s Caiah’s little angel, looking over him.’ Although it is not known who ‘Aaron’ is, the man who she fell pregnant with was believed to have been an older man from Queens, New York who she met while studying at the revered LaGuardia performing arts school. It’s a shockingly honest revelation from the tough hip-hop hitmaker, who prefers to keep her private life out of the public domain. However, she insists that she wants her fans to know more about her past through the material on her recently-released third record, The Pinkprint. In her interview with Rolling Stone, she adds: ‘One of my goals was to give people a glimpse into my personal life, because it’s something I’ve kept very private.’ Interesting that she’s sharing so much on this new project. Far cry from the Nicki we knew dressed head-to-toe in clown clothes and making strange voices… Continue reading →
North Korea has upped the ante in its feud with the United States. In the wake of The Interview being released in select theaters on Christmas Day, along with an Internet outage this week in North Korea, a spokesperson for that unstable nation has come out swinging against President Barack Obama. Via a statement that blames America for North Korea’s latest World Wide Web disruptions, the totalitarian regime’s ruling body, the National Defence Commission, says of our Commander-in-Chief: “Obama always goes reckless in words and deeds like a monkey in a tropical forest.” The FBI, of course, has confirmed that North Korea was behind endless hacks into the personal lives of Sony executives, a scandal that caused the company to initially cancel the release of The Interview. In response to that decision, Obama mocked his country’s arch nemesis . The North Korean spokesperson also charged the United States with falsely linking the Sony hacking to North Korea “without clear evidence,” accusing the Presidential administration of “disturbing the Internet operation” of North Korea in retaliation. The Interview stars James Franco and Seth Rogen and centers on their characters’ attempt to assassinate Kim Jong-un. Sony chose to release the film in just a handful of theaters late this week, following Obama’s criticism of its decision to essentially erase it from existence in the wake of the hacking scandal. Adds North Korea’s National Defence Commission in its statement: “U.S. President Obama is the chief culprit who forced the Sony Pictures Entertainment to ‘indiscriminately distribute’ the movie and took the lead in appeasing and blackmailing cinema houses and theatres in the U.S. mainland to distribute the movie.” President Obama: Flubs James Franco’s Name
