No one knows exactly when Kylie Jenner and Tyga started dating , but by most accounts they’ve been together for several months. So it’s a bit surprising that we haven’t seen them out on the town more often. Sure, Kylie and Tyga traveled to Europe together , but they’ve mostly kept it on the down-low stateside, and for good reason. (She’s 17 and he’s 25, after all.) As you’ve probably heard, The Interview was pulled from theaters following a series of cyber attacks and terrorist threats from what is believed to be a group of North Korean hackers. Now, it seems the so-called “Guardians of Peace” are still not satisfied, as they’ve reportedly issued further demands to execs at Sony Pictures Entertainment. According to CNN, the newest message from the hackers reads, in part: “We want everything related to the movie, including its trailers, as well as its full version down from every website hosting them immediately.” The group reportedly also demanded that The Interview never be released on DVD, pay-per-view, video on demand, or any other streaming service. Yes, the hackers aren’t satisfied by the fact that The Interview was dropped by every major theater chain ; they’ve decided to further flex their muscle by demanding that Sony essentially bury any evidence that the film ever existed. (An impossible task in 2014, of course, but something tells us that despite their technological know-how, the “Guardians” aren’t the most media-savvy lot.) Many Hollywood stars have been vocal in their criticism of Sony and the theater chains who distanced themselves from the film, and this latest salvo is likely to be taken as further evidence that giving in to the hackers was an ill-advised move that set a dangerous precedent. Still, the corporations that stood to profit from The Interview have capitulated thus far and sacrificed tens of millions already, so it’s unlikely that they’ll fight back on the comparatively small issue of a home media release. So sadly, it looks as though a trip to New Mexico might be in order if you ever hope to see the film: Author George R.R. Martin hopes to screen The Interview at a theater he owns in Santa Fe. In the wake of a terror threat, “The Interview” continues to dial down its pre-release campaign, and one major theater chain has declined to show it entirely.
Threats of violence against movie theaters and moviegoers resulted in the cancelation of Thursday’s scheduled premiere of The Interview in New York City. The Interview Movie Trailer The fallout from the ongoing Sony Pictures Entertainment hack reached a fever pitch Tuesday with threats from the shadowy group claiming responsibility. Calling themselves Guardians of Peace, the group vowed a massive campaign of violence akin to September 11, 2001 if the movie hit theaters as planned. The reason hackers are so upset over this absurd-looking comedy? The film features Seth Rogen and James Franco as television journalists involved in a CIA plot to assassinate North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. Speculation about a North Korean link to the Sony hacking has centered on that country’s rage against the film and earlier threat of “merciless” retaliation. The Department of Homeland Security said there was “no credible intelligence” to corroborate the threat against movie theaters , but is still analyzing messages. The warning did prompt law enforcement in New York and L.A. to address security measures, and Sony to allow theaters to pull The Interview if desired. The Interview Trailer Right on cue, a spokesperson for Landmark Sunshine cinemas said the NYC premiere of The Interview, scheduled for Thursday night, has been canceled. Carmike Cinemas, which operates 247 theaters across the country, was the first to nix planned showings of the film , according to The Hollywood Reporter . Rogen and Franco pulled out of all media appearances, canceling a Buzzfeed Q&A and Rogen’s planned guest spot on Late Night With Seth Meyers . GOP (as Guardians of Peace is often dubbed) has released a trove of data files including 32,000 emails to and from Sony Entertainment CEO Michael Lynton. Two former Sony film production workers filed lawsuits alleging the company waited too long to notify nearly 50,000 employees that data was breached. Since the hack surfaced late last month, everything from financial figures to salacious emails between top Sony executives has been dumped online.
