Fashion and drama will mix for Lifetime’s television movie, “House of Versace: The Untold Story of Genius, Murder and Survival.” The late Gianni Versace who started his eponymous clothing label in 1978, was shot in 1997 by a spree killer leaving his company in the hands of his sister Donatella. Desiree Hartsock "Obviously Settled" For Chris Siegfried, Her Brother Nate Says

Desiree Hartsock’s brother Nate is at it again, offering candid assessments of her love life. This time, he says his sis “settled” for fiance Chris Siegfried. Nate Hartsock famously ruffled feathers last year when Desiree appeared on The Bachelor, bluntly taking his sibling and suitor Sean Lowe to task. Now he’s turned his sights on Desiree Hartsock and Chris Siegfried – who he admittedly likes, but was not her first choice by any stretch of the imagination. “Desiree went on the show because she wanted to get married so badly and she wanted the family and to have kids,” Nate told Life & Style magazine. “Obviously Chris wasn’t her first choice. I think it’s obvious she settled for him.” He’s not hating, though. In fact, not only has Nate signed off on this potential future brother-in-law, he thinks a wedding WILL be in their future: “Desiree is at the point where she’s ‘all in’ with Chris, and I think he is just happy he gets to be with her,” he adds, predicting they will wed within a year. “She is happy with him and with how it ended up. I think this will be a short engagement, I could see a wedding happening even quicker than next summer.” Desiree Hartsock, Chris Siegfried ET Interview Viewers expected Desiree to reject both finalists, Chris Siegfried and Drew Kenney, after she was dumped by #1 pick Brooks Forester in epic fashion. But Nate called out Reality Steve and The Bachelorette spoilers on Twitter, and sure enough, she shook it off and accepted Chris’ proposal on the finale. No one saw it coming, including Nate or Des. But that doesn’t mean it won’t last, and if he says there’s a good shot, you know they’re doing well. If they weren’t, well, he’d be the dude who’d tell it to you straight. Desiree has been active on Twitter this week, expressing sadness over the passing of Gia Allemand , but joy at the fact that she moved in with Chris. The Fort Worth Zoo’s baby elephant is already making a splash with Texas children who visit the attraction – and online, where Belle has become a viral star. Baby Elephant Plays in Pool Bell was born July 7, and is the second Asian elephant to be born at the Fort Worth Zoo in 104 years. The staff has quickly been making up for lost time. The kids’ (and adults’ if we’re being honest) fascination with the pachyderm only grew today when officials at the venue added a pool to her enclosure . A small, inflatable pool that’s way too little for even Belle. Cuteness ensued. Watch and swoon above.

Oprah on Paula Deen N-Word Scandal: For Me, It’s Just Sad

Oprah Winfrey befriended Paula Deen in early 2012 and even spent a night at Deen’s Georgia home, where she conducted a wide-ranging interview. Over a year later, in a deposition for a lawsuit, Deen admitted using racial slurs in the past, a revelation that rankled many, including her friend. Until now, Winfrey had remained silent on her friend’s controversy, but addressed it this week during a sit-down of her own for her new film The Butler . Oprah Winfrey on Paula Deen, Racism “In the very first days I tried to reach her and then I decided to stay out of it as I saw it blowing up,” Winfrey told ET this week. “In time she will be fine.” “For me, it all just felt kind of sad.” Oprah’s feelings on the n-word are very clear, but she believes people need to let the “dust settle” before they can have a “real conversation” about race. She says she is well aware of racism today, even if she’s reached the point where at times it’s less overt than for other women who are minorities. “You know, you see those fools on Twitter sometime say ridiculous things,” Winfrey says. “Nobody in their right mind is going to call me the N-word.” “But nobody in their right mind is going to do that to my face, because true racism is being able to have power over somebody else,” Winfrey explains. “So that doesn’t happen to me that way.” “It shows up for me if I’m in a boardroom or situations where I’m the only woman or I’m the only African American person within a hundred mile radius.” “I can see in the energy of the people, they don’t sense that I should be holding one of those seats. I can sense that. But I can never tell, ‘Is it racism? Is it sexism?'” When asked to comment about Deen during another interview with Extra , the 59-year-old laughed and struck a lighter tone than she did with ET. “Oh my god! I don’t have anything to do with Paula Deen ,” she insisted. “She is not the first white lady to use the N-word! Good lord!”
