We have an update on the tragic death of Gia Allemand . According to a family statement, the former Bachelor contestant was taken off life support this afternoon due to “critical loss of brain and organ function,” which was the result of a suicide attempt on Monday. It remains unknown just how Gia took her own life, but insiders say she had been distraught recently over the state of her relationship with boyfriend Ryan Anderson, who was at her bedside (along with Allemand’s mother) when the 29-year old passed away. Allemand competed for the affection of Jake Pavelka on Season 14 of The Bachelor . She also took part in the first two seasons of ABC’s quasi spinoff, Bachelor Pad . The statement confirms that Anderson discovered Allemand’s body and called 911. It also reads: “Ms. Allemand passed away peacefully with her mother, boyfriend, and other lifelong friends by her side. As a practicing Christian, Gia did receive the sacrament of last rites. “Loved ones and fans will remember Gia Allemand as a caring woman who loved her family and was well-known for her compassion towards animals and mission to rescue homeless pets.” Gia Allemand Dies at 29

While L.A. Clippers player Matt Barnes waited for his bride Gloria Govan to walk down the aisle on Sunday, one of their twin boys had a mini-meltdown. Barnes, 33, posted an Instagram video of his son Carter, 4½, throwing down the flowers he was carrying as he walked across a bed of rose petals ahead of his Basketball Wives star mom. Despite the tantrum, the rest of Sunday’s celebration at the Bacara Resort in Santa Barbara, Calif., was a happy occasion. “This day will go down in history as one of the greatest days ever!!!” the bride Tweeted before slipping into a strapless Inbal Dror gown for the sunset service. After a romantic seaside ceremony, the 300 guests – including Carter’s twin brother Isaiah (who completed his journey down the aisle with a smile and flowers in hand), Barnes’s teammates Blake Griffin, Ryan Hollins, Willie Green and groomsman DeAndre Jordan – were treated to an elegant five-course dinner in the resort’s ballroom. The special day was a long time coming for the couple, who called off their first wedding back in August 2010. Kim “said when she comes out and gets photographed for the first time she wants to look hot, hot, hot,” a family insider told the magazine, adding that her goal weight is 115 pounds, and problematic post-baby areas have been her thighs and rear end. While Kim has already lost 30 pounds, and the insider says, the last 30 have been much tougher to shake. “The weight is not coming off as quickly … she plateaued … this is the hard part now.” Wonder how Yeezus is handling the fuller, rounder, higher cholesterol Kim? A source close to her baby daddy, Kanye West, said that the R&B star has been very passive about Kim’s next move, letting her work on her own time frame. “Kanye has been supportive and there for her, but this is more about Kim being inside her head and obsessed.” “She’s always complaining about her size,” the insider added. “She says she hates the way she looks and won’t go out again until she is skinnier.” So far, all we’ve seen of the 32-year-old have been two canned releases in which she could not be fully seen: A taped spot on her mother Kris Jenner’s talk show Aug. 2; and an Aug. 6 Keek video in which only her voice could be heard. One source said not to hold your breath waiting for any more Kim sightings this summer. “She thinks it will take at least another month to get to where she wants to be,” the source said. “Only when she’s there will she start thinking about showing her body to the world.” Plenty of women have wanted to lose weight after having babies, but as always, the Kardashian has to make things more dramatic than they really are.
