Aaron Hernandez was seen by his own home surveillance cameras holding a large-caliber gun just minutes after the murder he allegedly orchestrated. Prosecutors also found a spent .45 caliber shell casing in a car rented by the athlete matching five bullets found in the body of murder victim Odin Lloyd. Those revelations, along with the surveillance photo of the former Patriots tight end below, were released by Massachusetts investigators Thursday: According to a search warrant affidavit released by the Attleboro District Court: “Aaron Hernandez is observed on the surveillance video moving the item believed to be a firearm between his hands as he passes through the living room.” “Footage shows Aaron Hernandez pass through the living room area of the residence while holding an item, identified by investigators being consistent with a firearm.” The images were taken inside his home and recovered from the 14 cameras Hernandez had throughout his $1.2 million mansion in North Attleboro, Mass. Aaron Hernandez, prosecutors said, tampered with the cameras. Apparently not well enough, as state investigators were able to retrieve images. The pictures helped police build a timeline of the murder of Lloyd, 27, a semi-pro football player who was found less than a mile from Hernandez’s home. He was shot five times with a .45 caliber handgun. Hours before the June 16 slaying, Hernandez texted Lloyd , saying: “I’m coming to grab that tonight. U gon b around I need dat and we could step for a little again.” Hernandez’s surveillance cameras showed him leaving his home at 1:12 a.m. with two other men, who police say are Ernest Wallace, 41, and Carlos Ortiz, 27. Wallace has been charged in connection with Lloyd’s murder and Ortiz was arrested on firearms charges. Hernandez and Wallace pleaded not guilty. It’s unclear if Ortiz has entered a plea, or if Hernandez admitted the shooting , which has been rumored but not confirmed by any official documents. At 2:09 a.m., a security camera at a gas station in Boston showed Hernandez purchasing a cigar and Bubble Yum Cotton Candy flavored gum. Roughly 20 minutes later, the three men were seen picking up Odin Lloyd at his home, according to video recovered from Boston Police cameras. At 3:20 a.m., the silver sedan was captured driving into an industrial park, near Hernandez’s home, where Lloyd was killed, according to a search warrant: “This vehicle entered the crime scene at 3:23 a.m. [June 17]. The time of this activity is consistent with the reports of employees at an adjacent business who heard gunshots.” The surveillance photos of Hernandez back in his home and holding what appears to be a pistol were taken at 3:33 a.m., the police document states. Hernandez was arrested on murder and weapons charges June 26 and remains in solitary confinement at Bristol County Correctional Center in Dartmouth. He is due back in court for a probable cause hearing August 22.
Well, this is about as awful as it gets. A St. Louis woman named Adrienne Martin has been arrested after setting fire to a three-year old dog and bragging about the killing on Facebook. The charred shepherd-terrier (named Brownie) was discovered by its owner on July 10, a day after Martin took to Facebook and wrote message that included “I’m on killa mode… #killdogs.com.” It is believed the canine – who was taken to Stray Rescue of St. Louis for medical treatment, but died from organ failure – belonged to Martin’s sister. “When I got the call he passed away, all I could do was cry and then pray for the strength to make sure justice is served,” said Randy Grim , founder of Stray Rescue. “This is one of the saddest and worst cases I have ever dealt with.” After initially denying the crime, Martin admitted it to police. She has a criminal history and was previously charged with endangering the welfare of a child. In this case, Martin faces counts of felony animal abuse and the felony of “knowingly burning” an animal.
Sandra Bullock turns 49 years young on Friday. Given her looks, positive attitude, sense of humor, approachability and infectiously endearing personality, it’s no wonder she’s become known as America’s Sweetheart. After winning an Academy Award for The Blind Side and being blindsided by Jesse James, Bullock took time off to focus on a much more important role: Mother to adopted son Louis Bardot. She’s returned to acting with some memorable recent roles (most recently The Heat ), and continues to prove she can be as versatile as she is awesome. We wish her all the best personally and professionally, and can’t wait to see what the next phase of her career holds. Happy 49th birthday, Sandy! Other notable birthdays today: Helen Mirren (68), Kevin Spacey (54), Kate Beckinsale (40), Jeremy Piven (48), Chris Harrison (42) and Mick Jagger (70).
Forget McKalyla Maroney and Robinson Cano for a moment. The cat in the following video is particularly unimpressed. Even after not seeing his owner for six months. Indeed, felines don’t exactly share the same bond with their masters as canines. It’s not a judgment. It’s just a fact, as evidenced below. Watch now and remember: There’s probably a dog somewhere that could use a rescue! Cat Greets Owner
It’s still to be determined who will play Christian Grey in the upcoming Fifty Shades of Grey movie, but it’s reportedly become clear who will not be cast: Ian Somerhalder and Garrett Hedlund are both out of the running, according to insiders, along with Stephen Amell , narrowing the list of candidates. Hedlund, 28, was reportedly approached about playing the S&M-obsessed lead in the film version of E.L. James’ erotic novel, but turned it down . “Doing a possible trilogy was too big a commitment, and producers wouldn’t let him do just one film,” says the source of Kirsten Dunst’s boyfriend. Ian Somerhalder, 34, is out too – though he openly coveted the part. The “phenomenal opportunity” he lobbied for won’t be his for the taking. A source says “E.L. said at a Comic-Con party [that] the part won’t go to Ian.” Both The Vampire Diaries star and Garrett Hedlund have been popular picks in the online fantasy casting game that’s gone on for a year, but alas. The only major casting decision for the Fifty Shades of Grey movie, so far, has been the director. James confirmed that Sam Taylor-Johnson will helm the film. As for the two leads, they’re still TBA, and until we have official confirmation, everything is conjecture. So we toss the question over to you once again: Who do you think would be the perfect Christian Grey? Ian Somerhalder Alex Pettyfer Stephen Amell Matt Bomer Ryan Gosling Ryan Phillippe Alexander Skarsgard Henry Cavill Chris Evans Tom Hardy Chris Pine Garrett Hedlund Other (Cite in Comments) View Poll »
