Brianne Altice, a 34-year-old English teacher at a reputable Utah high school, has been arrested following allegations that she had sex with at least one student. She faces two felony counts of unlawful sex with a minor after the “victim” tipped off Kaysville, Utah, police about their alleged months-long sexual relationship. Brianne Altice, Teacher, Arrested For Having Sex With Student(s) According to the Deseret News , her alleged partner could accurately describe tattoos on Altice’s body, and confirmed the layout of her South Weber home. Investigators say they had sex there “at least five times” since January 2012. Police said Altice and the student also had sex in a park in Kaysville at least once, and that the tryst began when the boy, now 17, was 15 or 16 years old. All the while, he was a student of Altice’s at Davis High School. Police have not ruled out the possibility of more sexual trysts. Regardless of her legal fate, students at the high school where Altice taught English for about a year were shocked by the allegations against her. “She always wanted to be liked,” Kylee Carroll, a student at Davis High School, said. “I just didn’t think that she would ever do something like this.” Davis School District spokesperson Chris Williams noted widespread concerns that the scandal would damage the reputation of the acclaimed school. “This high school is a great high school. It has a fantastic reputation. So I’m sure there are some teachers out there wondering, ‘What does this do for the reputation?'” Certainly not good things, though the saga has yet to fully play out. Altice, who has taught in the district since 2004, has not been fired … yet. She has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation. Everyone thinks their baby is extra special, but Sara Brandon’s baby boy wins … at least technically. He’s the biggest child born in the U.S. all year! The boy weighed in at a whopping 14 pounds – double the weight of your average newborn – and arrived a week and a half before his due date, no less. So was Joel Brandon Jr. born via C-section or naturally? The former. Sara had a scheduled C-section at 38 1/2 weeks, at which point she knew her son was big . An ultrasound estimated he would be around 11 pounds. Give or take three? The 2013 record-setting baby boy landed in the NICU because of respiratory problems, but a week later, he was released and is in perfect health. And straight into size 2 diapers. As a four-month-old, he’s up to 23 pounds … good enough for the “150th percentile” for height and weight based on how he compares to normal charts.
