You know how sometimes your non-friend acquaintance doesn’t text you back, so you take that as permission to bang their boyfriend? That’s life, right? According to Faith Stowers, anyway. Because she’s not only unapologetic about hooking up with Jax, she’s also claiming that she and Brittany were never really friends. Way to commit to your role as Vanderpump Rules villain, Faith. So, on this season of Vanderpump Rules , Faith Stowers has gone from being essentially a glorified extra to being the center of attention. She slept with Jax Taylor . To make matters worse, she also claimed that she’d missed her period — guaranteeing her the on-camera attention that she clearly craves. But not all attention is good attention, folks. She’s emerged as the villain. Just because Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor are still together somehow doesn’t mean that Faith didn’t play a key role in sabotaging their relationship. Was Jax the guiltiest party? Yes. But since the much-beloved Brittany has taken him back, viewers and fans are going to want to look to the other woman to direct their ire. And Faith is making herself really, really easy to dislike. Faith Stowers spoke to Us Weekly in what we assume was, at some point, an attempt to make herself look better. You tell us how well she succeeded. “I don’t owe Brittany anything, I’m not Brittany’s friend.” There is a line of thinking that suggests that only the cheater is doing anything wrong, not the woman with whom he cheats. In some cases, we’re inclined to agree. But basically everyone, ever, including Faith’s costars, were definitely under the impression that Brittany and Faith were friends. Faith, however, suggests some “evidence” that they weren’t friends. “Brittany doesn’t even text me back. I mean, I’m confused.” Banging somebody’s boyfriend sounds like a bit of an overreaction. In my day, when somebody didn’t text back, we just set their car on fire. (Kidding!) It looks like Faith knows that the whole “banged Jax and faked a pregnancy” storyline can’t go on forever without adding a little more fuel to the fire. Because then she decided to bring up a more salacious topic. “The only reason why you text me in the beginning was cause you wanted a threesome.” Apparently this whole thing started when Jax was messaging Faith, ostensibly on behalf of himself and Brittany. Gene Simmons is known for his on-stage tongue antics (long before Miley was even born), for his band KISS’ absurd and recognizable makeup, and for some surprisingly conservative views for a guy who once seemed rebellious or radical. And now he’s one of the latest powerful, famous men accused of sexual misconduct. He’s being sued by an anonymous woman. He’s issued a statement and, to no one’s surprise, he’s denying the whole thing. Gene Simmons is being sued by an anonymous woman who is a radio personality. According to the lawsuit, details of which were published by the Orange County Register , Gene Simmons’s misconduct took place in a green room, while this woman was interviewing her. The lawsuit alleges that Simmons reached over, grabbed the woman’s hand, and “forcefully placed it on his knee and held it on his knee.” The woman apparently withdrew her hand immediately, but alleges that Simmons continued his “unwanted, unwarranted sexual advances,” reaching again for her hand. Defendant Simmons turned standard interview questions into sexual innuendos, which made plaintiff Doe extremely uncomfortable According to the documents, Gene Simmons grabbed her hand again, made a creepy noise, commented about how she must use lotion, and made some sort of gross sexual innuendo. He apparently also flicked his finger against her throat, which is one of the weirdest things that we’ve read about since reading about Harvey Weinstein ejaculating into a plant . Oh, and at a photo op after this interview from hell, Simmons allegedly grabbed her butt. Awful. Gene Simmons is speaking out against these allegations and against the lawsuit, writing on Facebook: “Friends, I intend to defend myself against any alleged charges you may have been reading about in the media.” Again, it is not surprising that he’s denying everything. “For the record, I did not assault the person making these accusations in the manner alleged in the complaint or harm her in any way.” He’s fighting the allegations in public but also gearing up to fight the actual lawsuit. “I am conferring with my lawyers with the aim of vigorously countering these allegations.” And he believes that he’ll be ultimately vindicated. “And I look forward to my day in court where the evidence will prove my innocence.” He may be right about the lawsuit’s outcome — sexual misconduct is often difficult or even impossible to prove in court. Even while remaining anonymous, the woman suing him is taking a big financial risk. Ultimately, we don’t know what, if any, effect this will have on Gene Simmons. The more passionate a man’s fanbase, the less likely he is to face real consequences, even in the court of public opinion. Just look at Johnny Depp — everyone knows what he did and has seen the evidence that his management knew what he’d done, but he still has a career and die-hard fans. Oh, and he’s starring in a Harry Potter movie and even JK Rowling is defending him. Only time will tell if Gene Simmons’ remaining fans will abandon him. Though, honestly, anyone who still likes the guy after he said that depressed people should just kill themselves is probably going to stick with him through anything. We should point out that it’s always possible that other women could come forward. It’s rare for a man to engage in this sort of behavior with one woman and not with others. So let’s all keep our ears metaphorically to the ground for other women coming forward about disgusting interactions with Gene Simmons. There are a lot of factors at play — some women are ashamed of not telling anyone, or blame themselves for the way that someone else treated them, or fear public reactions (especially from someone’s fans). If you’ve been watching Vanderpump Rules this season, then you know the show has delivered a satisfying mix of the old (Jax is still a colossal douche) and the new (he’s finding bold and innovative ways to express his douchiness). At six seasons in, most reality shows are starting to wind down, but Vanderpump remains fresh largely because of just how low its principal players are willing to sink in the name of keeping their genitals stimulated and their livers pickled. Thus far, this season has focused largely on the crumbling relationship between Jax and his well-meaning, but frustratingly naive girlfriend, Brittany Cartwright. In the season premiere, we learned that Jax cheated on Brittany with former SUR girl Faith Stowers. (He didn’t admit it until the following episode, but c’mon … Was there ever any doubt?) For a while, there was reason to believe that Faith was pregnant with Jax’s baby , but it turns out that was just some BS Stowers cooked up in order to ensure she’d make it on the show. But despite pretending to miss her period for the sake of like three minutes of screen time, Faith says she’s not the fake-ass one here. Rather, she contends that that title belongs to her former friends James Kennedy and Lala Kent. Recently, an Instagram follower expressed sympathy for Faith and stated that she hopes Lala is sticking by her during this tumultuous time. “Lala is upset because she wanted to put this story out there so she doesn’t have my back and has been fake the whole time,” Faith responded. In another comment, she went into greater detail, slamming not only Lala but her other former friend James Kennedy, whom she claims befriended Jax solely to ensure he wouldn’t get booted off the show due to his total lack of connection with anyone in the cast: “James says he is back friends with Jax and says sorry faith just business, lol so sad. and Lala is mad because she wanted to deliver the scandal to bravo for more money in her contract and didn’t get to because of Scheana party. They were fake friends and i learned my lesson.” So that’s why Bravo felt it was okay to bring back serial woman-abuser James! Clearly, Jax’s powers of persuasion know no bounds, as evidenced by the fact that he and Brittany are still together. It will serve as a distraction to another announcement you recently made, one that is not being met with positive reviews from your fans. Late this week, Jenner’s shockingly successful makeup business alerted the public to a brand new 16-piece brush set that is now on sale. This Kylie Cosmetic kit – which features a number of sleek-looking brushes – is the third product in the Silver Series set from the popular brand… and is being offered for $360. Yes, $360. For a bunch of brushes. In response to this hilarious/ridiculous figure, fashion blog publisher and fans jumped on social to express their disappointment over the price, prompting Kylie to respond with a tweet of her own on Saturday. It reads: “I have developed for you guys the most amazing luxury brushes ever. I am very excited! Real brushes don’t compare to synthetic brushes. “Different performance/quality/everything. I am 100% down to do an entire synthetic line in the future which will ultimately be cheaper.” She added: “I always fight for the lowest price on all my products. Here are some other real brush lines for reference…” And she’s right: there’s one set in the above-referenced collection that retails for $650. Jenner went on to acknowledge the criticism, telling followers: “I hear you guys, love you guys and truly just want the best.” Whatever Kylie is doing at her company, it’s clearly working. A somewhat recent report valued Kylie Cosmetics at $1 billion , which is just… it’s totally and completely and utterly insane. What started as a simple lip gloss kit has blossomed, in just a couple of years, into a global empire. Still, that doesn’t mean everyone was satisfied with Kylie’s explanation or the price of these brushes. “Thanks but I’ll buy food with that money instead,” wrote one Internet user, while another added: “Sorry girl but that’s just waaaay to expensive! There are so many other brands that make quality brushes for affordable prices.” Others said they were worried about with whether or not the brushes were cruelty-free and asked what type of hair was used in the brushes. This is serious business, apparently, this makeup stuff. Women do NOT mess around when it comes to their products. And despite its financial success, Kylie Cosmetics has not received high grades from the Better Business Bureau. “All I’m saying is if you wanna charge luxury prices, provide luxury quality,” wrote one critic. Explosive accusations regarding Matt Laue r’s alleged behavior has emerged, detailed in a new report by Variety . In a lengthy expose put together by the publication over the course of a two-month investigation, summarizes the accounts of multiple unnamed sources including the alleged victims, colleagues and “Today Show” producers. RELATED: Matt Lauer Fired From NBC News Over Inappropriate Sexual Misconduct One startling accusation claims that the former “Today Show” host once purchased a sex toy for a female employee, then wrote her a note expressing the way he wanted to use it on her. Another victim recalled an incident where Lauer called her into his office, only to expose his penis and then reprimand her after said refused to engage in a sexual act. Lauer would also reportedly quiz female producers, grilling them on who they slept with, “offering to trade names,” Variety writes. Later would also play obscene games with his colleagues in office, including labeling who he would “fuck, marry, or kill.” The location of Lauer’s office was also positioned in a secluded area in Rockefeller Center and included a button in his desk which would lock the door immediately when pressed. On Wednesday morning “Today” hosts Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb broke the news on-air after NBC News Chairman Andrew Lack sent an internal memo to employees, informing them of the Lauer investigation. An unnamed woman accused Lauer of inappropriate behavior during the 2014 Sochi games in Russia which continued on for several months. The woman is said to have reported her experiences with Lauer during a Monday meeting with human resources. After the meeting and the detailed review into the accusations, Lauer was fired on Tuesday evening. Several people who were interviewed by Variety say that Lauer’s behavior was known among senior executives at NBC, but the weight of his influence prompted inaction. According to the report, executives were most concerned with the advertising pull of the program and were content to keep Lauer satisfied. His alleged victims were discouraged from coming forward due to Lauer’s pull in the media industry, fearing for the future of their careers. Another source said that Lauer was known for being occupied with women and their bodies, and also gained notorious power after Katie Couric ‘s departure from the show in 2006. “There were a lot of consensual relationships, but that’s still a problem because of the power he held,” a former producer told the outlet. “He couldn’t sleep around town with celebrities or on the road with random people, because he’s Matt Lauer and he’s married. So he’d have to do it within his stable, where he exerted power, and he knew people wouldn’t ever complain.” Many are also calling attention to the irony of Lauer covering the parade of high-profile men and women accused of sexual harassment and assault over the last few months. You might feel that just about every time you read something about the Duggar family, it’s news of a new scandal or controversy. Especially common are stories that point out the family’s apparent hypocrisy and inability or unwillingness to live in accordance with the values they espouse publicly. It’s not hard to see why critics and former fans would revel in evidence that the Duggars aren’t quite practicing what they preach. After all, it’s hard to think of another famous family that suffered a fall from grace as swift and brutal as the one that befell the Counting On clan in the wake of the Josh Duggar sex scandals . Frankly, Josh’s crimes were horrific, and the efforts to help him evade prosecution were almost as appalling. As a result, nearly 18 months later, many still see the family’s misfortunes as grounds for celebration. Perhaps that’s unfair, as most of the family was not complicit in Josh’s crimes, but it’s certainly an understandable reaction, as many seem to hope that each Duggar scandal will be the last, and the family will finally be forced to leave the public eye. And, of course, it’s not just the Josh scandals that have earned the Duggars such a vocal contingent of critics. The family’s extremely conservative beliefs basically set them up for failure, and as a result, instances of Duggar hypocrisy are remarkably common. And because the family purports to hold a position of moral authority, those instances are gleefully pointed out by the same people who have been condemned to hell by the Duggars’ belief system. We certainly understand it’s appeal, but sometimes, all that anti-Duggar news leaves us with the feeling that we’re living in a bubble. Surely, someone must still be pulling for these people, right? Yes, as it turns out, a quick trip through some popular Duggar fan pages reveals that there are quite a few folks out there who still support Jim Bob and company. Not only that, but judging by the comments on a recent photo of Josh and Anna’s daughter, many of these people are pushing a truly bizarre agenda: “I’m still so upset that they can’t feature Josh,” one fan commented. “How do they get to be a testimony of God’s redemptive power if they can’t show the healing?” “Put Josh back with his family please,” wrote another. “TLC won’t allow them to feature Josh but I’m surprised in the Duggar family page they don’t show the kid’s with their parents,” Yes, there are humans on the internet–the same internet you’re using right now!–who not only support the Duggars, but also want more Josh in their lives. Finding comments like the ones above is like stumbling into a bizarro world full of Trump supporters who wish the Access Hollywood tape was even longer. We suppose we can understand turning a blind eye to the Duggars’ indiscretions so that you can continue to support them relatively guilt-free. Denial is a powerful force, after all. But begging TLC to put a known child molester back on television? That’s something we’ll simply never be able to make sense of. TMZ reports: Nelly’s attorney Scott Rosenblum tells us …the accuser’s “reckless accusation, once investigated thoroughly, was exposed for what it was-a fabrication. A fabrication that has caused Nelly and his family to suffer emotionally and financially.” He’s not satisfied though, and says he wants a public apology from the woman, and will recommend Nelly consider taking legal action against her. The woman’s attorney, Karen Koehler, says her client has told the Auburn PD in Washington State, and the King County D.A. to “put a halt to the criminal investigation of [Nelly]. She will not testify further in a criminal proceeding against him.” Koehler says the young woman feels the system has failed her and she can’t stand up to a celebrity. “Who will believe her. People are saying horrible things already. She cannot handle this. She is about to break.”
