According to NBC News: A married father of two who coaches girls’ softball is accused of having a sexual relationship with his teenage daughter’s best friend — a girl who looked up to her coach as a father-like figure, according to a criminal complaint obtained by NBC10. Kevin Jones, 34, of Fairless Hills, Pa., northeast of Philadelphia, is accused of having intimate contact with the girl starting when she was 14, according to Falls Township Police. Police say that Jones would text and Facebook message with the girl, whom he coached on the same softball team, the Levittown Bulldogs, that his daughter played on. The girl and Jones would tell each other that they loved one another and he would refer to her as his “baby doll” and she would call him “daddy,” according to a criminal complaint. Jones allegedly told the girl, whose father left the picture about seven years ago, that she could consider him a father. “I’ll be your dad from now on and I’ll protect you like I’m your dad,” Jones told the girl, according to the affidavit. According to the criminal complaint, the relationship between the two started in the spring of 2012 with “flirting” as Jones would put his arm around the girl and hold her hand while speaking to her. Over time, the girl told police that their relationship progressed, first to kissing then to sexual activities and eventually to intercourse about two weeks ago. The affidavit said that Jones’ children were in his home during many of the alleged sex acts. The girl, now 15, told police that all the alleged sex was consensual and that no drugs or alcohol were involved. Jones denies any sexual contact with the alleged victim outside of hugging and kissing that happened only in front of the girl’s mother. The criminal complaint states that during questioning Jones told police, “I don’t know if she thinks I touched her, we play fight.” The relationship was uncovered after the teenager confided in her sister about the relationship and the girls’ mother in turn reported it to Falls Township Police on Jan. 9. Around that time, the victim allegedly tried to warn Jones that her mother knew of their alleged relationship in a series of texts and Facebook messages that are referenced in the affidavit. Those Facebook messages date back to June of 2011, when the girl was just 13, and include messages where Jones threatens to kill any boy the girl has interest in, according to the affidavit. Police planned to serve a search warrant at Jones’ home on Jan. 25, but around 2 p.m. the home burned down. Jones and his family escaped the blaze and the cause of the fire remained under investigation. Jones was arrested Monday and charged with six counts including indecent sexual intercourse with a minor, statutory sexual assault, corruption of minors and related offenses. He was arraigned and held on $2 million bail, according to court documents. Wow, and these are the types of people we trust and leave our children with…so sad.

Is this sweet or a lil’ too much? Some are saying it’s a beautiful, selfless act and other’s are questioning the safety risks Cathy Donnelly took for her daughter’s own happiness. According to The Daily Mail : Cathy Donnelly, 58, is six months pregnant and will welcome her seventh grandchild into the world when she gives birth to her – before daughter Shannon Fischer raises the baby. Mrs Fischer and her husband Jamie had been trying for two years when they discovered they couldn’t conceive due to scarring in her uterus. So Mrs Donnelly mother of three and a grandmother of six, volunteered to be a surrogate mother for her daughter. Mrs Fischer said: ‘The day I came home from my surgery mum said “I’ll do it”. She didn’t hesitate.’ Mrs Donnelly, from London in Ontario, Canada, said: ‘I felt bad for them – I just thought what’s nine months of my life? They are going to have a child for the rest of theirs? It’s not like I’m busy doing anything.’ Michael Murray, specialist at the Northern California Fertility Medical Center, says though there have been cases of mothers acting as surrogate for their daughters before it is typically something the medical community does not advise. He said: ‘Usually it’s a close friend or a sister that acts as the gestational carrier – women who are over 45-years-old are not normally in good enough health. ‘Pregnancy for older women is much riskier. The most common complications are high blood pressure, gestational diabetes and premature child birth.’ But they were risks Mrs Donnelly was willing to accept and while she admits her pregnancy hasn’t been easy, she has had no complications so far. ‘It was long process and involved a heavy dose of fertility drugs for both of us but in the end it all paid off. ‘But it has been challenging. Now I’m showing I make sure people aren’t staring or looking at me because they’re probably thinking ‘look at that old lady.’ Mrs Donnelly said she did question whether she was doing the right thing and if everything would work out okay until she started to feel the baby move. Now her only concerns are about how she will feel once she has given birth. ‘I don’t know if I’ll feel like I’ve lost her, I don’t know how I’m going to feel,’ Mrs Donnelly said. Shannon plans to name her daughter Zoey Hope Catherine after her mother. And for her the whole experience has made her cherish their mother-daughter relationship even more. Uhmmm…ok. Best Buy CEO Quits After Investigation More bad news for Best Buy: Best Buy CEO Brian Dunn abruptly quit his job after the board of directors allegedly began investigating him for having an inappropriate relationship with a female employee. The Minneapolis Star-Tribune, citing unnamed sources, reported that Best Buy was examining whether Dunn used company resources to help carry out that relationship. The nation’s largest electronics retailer wouldn’t confirm the report, but would not deny it, either. The newspaper could not reach Dunn, 50, for comment. Dunn, who is married with three sons, started at Best Buy in 1985 selling VCRs and worked his way up the management chain before being appointed CEO in 2009. ‘Certain issues were brought to the board’s attention regarding Dunn’s personal conduct, unrelated to the company’s operations or financial controls, and an audit committee investigation was initiated,’ according to a company statement issued late Tuesday. ‘Prior to the completion of the investigation, Mr. Dunn chose to resign.’ Dunn, a Best Buy veteran who had been CEO since 2009, couldn’t be reached for comment Tuesday and Best Buy did not comment further on the circumstances of the probe. The chief executive earned more than $10.2 million last year. He is married with three sons. Earlier on Tuesday, the company said that Dunn’s departure was a mutual decision and that it was time for new leadership given the challenges the company faces.
