Swiss Boutique Clerk Says She Never Racially Profiled Oprah Winfrey Nor Denied Her A Look At Expensive Handbag Fawk Rush Limbaugh … Via NYDailyNews The Zurich boutique clerk accused of racially profiling Oprah Winfrey is firing back — claiming the Queen of Talk’s account “is not true” and “absurd.” “I would never say something like that to a customer. Really never,” the unidentified Italian woman told Switzerland’s SonntagsBlick newspaper Sunday, according to a translation from London’s Daily Mail. “I don’t know why she is making these accusations. She is so powerful and I am just a shop girl,” added the shop attendant, who has worked at the posh Trois Pommes shop for five years. “I don’t know why someone as great as her must cannibalize me on TV.” The clerks goes on to say: “I simply told her that it was like the one I held in my hand, only much more expensive, and that I could show her similar bags,” she told SonntagsBlick. “It is absolutely not true that I declined to show her the bag on racist grounds. I even asked her if she wanted to look at the bag. “’She looked around the store again but didn’t say anything else. Then she went with her companion to the lower floor. My colleague saw them to the door. They were not even in the store for five minutes.” Store owner Trudie Goetz publicly defended her employee, telling Reuters, “”This is an absolute classic misunderstanding” possibly caused by the clerk’s imperfect command of English. When asked by the Swiss newspaper what should would say to Winfrey if she had the chance to talk to her again, the clerk responded: “I would apologize and say it was all a misunderstanding,” she said. “ I surely did not intentionally want to insult Ms. Winfrey. “I hope this nightmare ends soon.” The fact that there are conflicting accounts of this story doesn’t lend itself to ending “this nightmare” anytime soon. It’s unclear why, but it’s also rather hilarious to study: There’s Kris Humphries hanging out. There’s Kanye earning an inclusion. And there’s Kendall Jenner as… Judas?!? Based on the recent claims of Michael Girgenti , you’d think Kourtney would earn this traitorous spot at the table. Maybe in a few weeks if Girgenti’s paternity claims prove to be true. What Would Jesus Do: Pope Francis On Gay Priests In The Catholic Church “Who Am I To Judge?”
Can the gay community be fully embraced in any religion? Pope Francis Reaches Out To The Gays Via HuffPo reports: Pope Francis reached out to gays on Monday, saying he wouldn’t judge priests for their sexual orientation in a remarkably open and wide-ranging news conference as he returned from his first foreign trip. “If someone is gay and he searches for the Lord and has good will, who am I to judge?” Francis asked. His predecessor, Pope Benedict XVI, signed a document in 2005 that said men with deep-rooted homosexual tendencies should not be priests. Francis was much more conciliatory, saying gay clergymen should be forgiven and their sins forgotten. Francis’ remarks came Monday during a plane journey back to the Vatican from his first foreign trip in Brazil. He was funny and candid during a news conference that lasted almost an hour and a half. He didn’t dodge a single question, even thanking the journalist who raised allegations reported by an Italian newsmagazine that one of his trusted monsignors was involved in a scandalous gay tryst. Francis said he investigated and found nothing to back up the allegations. Francis was asked about Italian media reports suggesting that a group within the church tried to blackmail fellow church officials with evidence of their homosexual activities. Italian media reported this year that the allegations contributed to Benedict’s decision to resign While stressing Catholic social teaching that calls for homosexuals to be treated with dignity and not marginalized, Francis said it was something else entirely to conspire to use private information for blackmail or to exert pressure. Francis was responding to reports that a trusted aide was involved in an alleged gay tryst a decade ago. He said he investigated the allegations according to canon law and found nothing to back them up. But he took journalists to task for reporting on the matter, saying the allegations concerned matters of sin, not crimes like sexually abusing children. And when someone sins and confesses, he said, God not only forgives but forgets. “We don’t have the right to not forget,” he said. R.I.P: Actor James Gandolfini Dead At 51
We are so sad to hear this. Actor James Gandolfini Dead At 51 We loved him as Tony Soprano. You will be missed. According to TMZ 4:48 PM PT — The celebrity tributes have begun … we just spoke with Joseph R. Gannascoli — aka Vito on “The Sopranos” — who tells us. “James is one guy who never turned his back on me. He was the most humble and gifted actor and person I have ever worked with.” He adds, “He was a great man and I will forever be indebted to him. “ James Gandolfini — who famously played Tony Soprano on “The Sopranos” — died earlier today in Italy … TMZ has learned. Gandolfini is believed to have suffered a heart attack. He was 51. Gandolfini was in Italy to attend the 59th Taormina Film Festival in Sicily — and he was scheduled to participate in a festival event this weekend with Italian director Gabriele Muccino. Gandolfini shot to fame playing a hitman in the 1993 hit “True Romance” … and quickly became a Hollywood legend when he was cast as Tony Soprano in 1999. He won 3 Emmy awards for the role during the show’s 6 season run. Gandolfini also appeared in a ton of huge movies including “Get Shorty,” “The Mexican” and “Zero Dark Thirty.” We last spoke to Gandolfini in May in L.A. — he was in great spirits, making funny faces and joking about a “Sopranos” movie.
