SMH, Newt ain’t shyte as a husband… which probably would make him an “ain’t shyte” President too. Newt Gingrich claims that it was his first wife, not Gingrich himself, who wanted their divorce in 1980, but court documents obtained by CNN appear to show otherwise. The Republican presidential candidate, now in his third marriage, has been peppered with attacks and questions about his divorce from Jackie Gingrich for the past three decades. Questions about his past — and what that past tells voters about his personal behavior — have re-emerged as he has returned to the political scene 13 years after he resigned as speaker of the House. A new defense that has arisen as Gingrich entered the presidential race this year is the insistence that she, not he, wanted the divorce. On the “Answering the attacks” page of his campaign website, Newt.org, which “(Sets) the Record Straight: Newt’s Positions on the Issues and His Record,” the campaign discusses Gingrich’s first divorce. “It was (Jackie Gingrich) that requested the divorce, not Newt,” the campaign website said, referring readers to an online column written by Gingrich’s youngest daughter, Jackie Gingrich Cushman, last May. Cushman, 13 when her parents separated in 1980, was rebutting persistent rumors that her father served divorce papers on her mother the day after cancer surgery. In the column, Cushman writes that papers were never served in the hospital, and that her mother did not actually have cancer. Dang, he brought his daughter into this and turner her against her mother?? Jackie Gingrich, who has rarely spoken to the media about the divorce, declined CNN’s request for an interview. A friend said that Jackie Gingrich did not want to comment out of concern for her daughters and grandchildren. In a brief interview in 1985, she told the Washington Post: “He can say that we had been talking about it for 10 years, but the truth is that it came as a complete surprise.” Leonard H. “Kip” Carter, a former close Gingrich friend, backed the contention that it was Newt Gingrich who wanted the divorce. “He (Gingrich) said, ‘You know and I know that she’s not young enough or pretty enough to be the wife of a president,’ ” Carter, who now lives in South Carolina, told CNN recently, relating the conversation he had with Gingrich the day Gingrich revealed he was filing for divorce. Carter served as treasurer of Gingrich’s first congressional campaigns. Carter, who was a fellow history professor when Gingrich taught at West Georgia College in Carrollton, said he broke off his friendship with Newt Gingrich because of the congressman’s treatment of his wife during the divorce. Here we are again with yet another “Basketball Wives Reunion” special. I, for one, have been waiting on this very moment all season, just to see exactly how kooky Jackie was going to explain her antics all season long. Of course, it didn’t take very long for Jackie to get all riled up especially when the host, John Salley, asked Imani exactly how the drama between her, Laura and Jackie actually got started. “Don’t let me get Verizon on the phone!” Jackie threatened Imani when they were going back and forth about if they spoke on the phone at noon or after midnight. No Jackie, that won’t be necessary since we’re all quite confused why the time this so called phone conversation between you and Imani is a relevant topic on the reunion show anyway. Once Jackie simmered down (for the time being), John Salley touched on Malaysia and Laura’s fight, Imani and Laura’s beef, Gloria and Matt’s break up and exactly why everybody hated Draya. Draya “cleared the air” on the rumors surrounding her and her son explaining that they all were just not true and Jackie decided to jump in and tell Draya that she really felt bad about looking her up on Google, but wasn’t going to apologize for it and didn’t regret it. Jackie then went on to attack Gloria, and the two went back and forth for the remainder of the show. I don’t know if anyone caught Jackie saying something about Gloria and Laura’s baby daddy having a little fling, but I sure did! I don’t know, Jackie does seem a little cooky to me, but some of the side comments that she throws out there during arguments makes you wonder where she got these “false” tales from. Do you think there is some truth to it? Or is Jackie just crazy? Part one of the reunion special was a bit of a snooze, hopefully we’ll get more clarity on part two next Monday! Last night was a hilarious and drama filled episode of “Basketball Wives LA”. The girls were continuing their relaxing Hawaiian vacation and still unveiling new drama that Jackie caused. In an attempt to smooth things over with Jackie at the beginning of the episode, all the ladies meet during breakfast to try and confront Jackie about her manipulative ways. Nothing gets resolved in this confrontation however, as Jackie comes in the room already on the defense and ready for whatever the girls had to throw at her. After a brief shouting match, the girls realize that it’s no getting through to Jackie and decide to go clear their heads by doing a little shopping. Now, I don’t know about you, but picking out cute shoes with the enemy doesn’t make things okay! Jackie seemed confused that there was still tension in the air between her and the girls during their shopping outing, and continued to try and find someone to pull to the side and talk about how fake every one is, although it seemed like this time, none of the girls were actually listening. Later on in the episode, Malaysia gets a phone call from another “basketball wife” who dishes on what Jackie has said about each and every girl on the show. At this point, everyone has had enough of Jackie’s ways and they collectively (yes, Draya included) decide to vote Jackie off the island and send her packing back to LA! Ouch! Here are five reasons why Jackie was voted off the island on last night’s episode! 1. Because she is the island! Prior to Jackie’s exit, she stated, “me voted off the island? I AM the island!” Anyone who thinks they are the whole island of Hawaii deserves to be sent home. I’m just saying! 2. Because she’s “tacky Jackie”. After the girls decided to send Jackie packing, Draya said, “Say goodbye to tacky Jackie!” The nickname itself pretty much sums up reason number two why Jackie should have been voted off the island. 3. Because she brought her husband on the trip. Where was Doug Christie hiding all this time? He just randomly appeared during this episode only for us to find out that he has been on the vacation with her all this time? I thought this was supposed to be a relaxing GIRLS vacation? I guess it’s a good thing that she brought her hubby along so he could help her pack those bags when her time was up! 4. Because shes “coo-ky” and she’s like 59 and a half (in Laura’s voice). All this drama was so unnecessary. The back and forth, he said she said, it was enough to make me crazy! It’s no reason all that drama should have occurred during a vacation in paradise and it all came from Jackie. I would have sent her packing too and went back to sipping Pina Coladas on the beach! 5. Because her horse sensed that she had a bad vibe. When the girls went horse back riding, the horse that Jackie chose to ride seemed to sense that she had a bad vibe. According to Draya, horses can sense when people have evil spirits surrounding them. I wouldn’t want anybody with an evil spirit close to me during my vacation! The 2011 Kid’s Choice Awards awarded a host of talent from the likes of Selena Gomez , to Justin Bieber , Katy Perry and Johnny Depp . Nickelodeon’s annual event highlights achievements of young stars and gives special honors including the famous ‘green slime’ to attendees. This year’s event was attended by the biggest names in entertainment, including up and coming talent, like Taylor Momsen . Jaden Smith and Willow Smith were some of the big young stars at the KCA , and Jaden’s ‘The Karate Kid’ won favourite movie of the year. His co-star, Jackie Chan , was also named ‘Favourite Butt-kicker’ despite kicking less than usual. Selena Gomez won Favourite TV actress for her series ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’, while Miley Cyrus won Favourite Movie Actres for ‘The Last Song’. Critics wont be too pleased with Miley winning an award for acting as she is often considered to be one of the worst actresses in Hollywood.
