Simply put, it doesn't get much more adorable than this. On May 12, Tori Roloff and Zach Roloff welcomed their first child into the world. His name is Jackson Kyle and we later learned that he does, indeed, carry the same gene as his famous father; despite measuring “normal” length at birth, he will grow up to be a Dwarf. This will be a challenge, Jacob has openly admitted. Speaking to People Magazine, the TLC star talked openly about his own difficulties as a child with this genetic disposition. He was called names. He was chosen last for sports. There was no talk of him getting elected Homecoming King. “I grew up with the name-calling,” Roloff said in a feature piece for the publication, adding: “I look at my childhood and being a boy on the farm, it was a little tough because boys are very alpha-doggy and follow the pack. “I was always chasing the back and way behind the pack. It was tough.” The result is that “you have to encourage a dwarf child a little more because it will take them five steps to do what others can do in two,” Roloff said a few weeks ago. Now, about a month into fatherhood, Zach has talked once again about this life-changing experience. In new footage for his vlog with Tori – aptly named “Z and T Party of Three” – he discussed the first few days at home with the baby. “It felt super surreal and natural the first time I held baby Jackson,” says the Little People, Big World star below, going on in a bit more detail as follows: “Infants, I always thought, were fragile and hard to hold, but with your own child, it’s super confident.” It's strange, but true. Only parents can really understand this. As for Jackson being born with achondroplasia? “Baby Jackson came in as [a little person] — just like me,” the new dad says, emphasizing: “We’re super excited for it, though. We’ll hope to just give him a healthy, happy life and support him in every way. “He can experience as much as the world as Tori and me have been able to and hopefully much more.” And look how cute he is! Check out the full video and see what else Zach and Tori have to say about their son right now:
Zach Roloff is a brand new father. But he may need to face down some old demons in the years ahead. The Little People, Big World star welcomed a son named Jackson into the world on May 12, posing for a couple photos with the newborn and his wife, Tori. Said the reality star in a statement at the time: “Baby and mother are doing great and Jackson is already mastered holding daddy’s fingers and snuggling with mom! He is adorable and Tori and I are loving being parents.” Since this special development, Zach has opened up in more depth about his son. As relayed to People Magazine in an exclusive interview, the Roloffs learned that Jackson carried the dwarf gene (achondroplasia) when Tori was 34 weeks along. They broke this news to their family, but withheld the information from the public until just a few days ago. For Zach, the challenge that this will present is to ensure his child doesn’t suffer in the same way as he did while growing up. “I grew up with the name-calling,” the 27-year old tells People , adding: “I look at my childhood and being a boy on the farm, it was a little tough because boys are very alpha-doggy and follow the pack. “I was always chasing the back and way behind the pack. It was tough.” (Men with the genetic condition of achondroplasia grow an average height of 4’4″ … with a normal lifespan; babies, meanwhile, may experience breathing problems and delays in muscle development.) Having a son who is like himself means that Zach and Tori will need to be especially helpful and positive when it comes to how Jackson sees both himself and the world. But they are up for this unique challenge. “You have to encourage a dwarf child a little more because it will take them five steps to do what others can do in two,” explains Roloff. “But I knew, dwarf or not, I was going to parent my child with the mentality that not everyone gets a trophy. You have to earn it.” On an earlier episode of his family’s TLC series, Zach opened up to his mother about concerns for Jackson. Prior to the baby being born, Zach reiterated how his childhood was “tough” and how he was worried it would be the same for his impending son. “You can’t keep up,” Zach said to Little People, Big World star Amy, remembering what life was like for him many years ago. “You can’t out-climb the other boys on the trees, you can’t outrun the other boys…Remember when I would come crying to you?” Yes , Amy told her son. She did remember that. But there’s reason for optimism. There’s a reason for Zach to feel better about what may be awaiting his son once he enters elementary school and middle school. “The world is changing. People are more open to diversity,” says the reality star and soccer coach, concluding of little Jackson: “Whatever he wants to do, we’re going to find a way to help him do it. That’s our job in life now.” In the end? Jackson is happy and Jackson is healthy. “That’s all that matters,” Zach tells People. For Discussion: Was Real Housewife Charisse Jackson Wrong To Do Reality TV After Hubby Warned It Would Ruin Their Marriage? Serious question — is it very common for a husband to start acting funny when his wife finds a means of income that might make her more wealthy or known than him? Asking for a friend… But seriously. “Real Housewives Of Potomac” star Charisse Jordan Jackson says when her husband Eddie Jordan warned her that reality TV might ruin their relationship it actually didn’t deter her from doing the show. Jackson Jordan made an appearance on Bravo’s Daily Dish podcast : “”When I told [Eddie], I said, ‘They want me to do this reality show’ — at the time we didn’t know it was Housewives, we were thinking maybe it could be Housewives — and so he said, ‘Well, if you do it, we’ll probably get a divorce.’” Jackson Jordan says his comments shocked her, especially because she’d always supported his career pursuits: “It was not the answer I was expecting. So when he said it, I was devastated. Like I literally gave up my career twice because of his career. We moved to California, then New Jersey, Maryland, Philly, then back to Maryland, and now I say a few words, and you’re going to say to me divorce if I do this? So it kind of put me in a different space of, ‘Now I really want to do this.’” Jackson Jordan revealed that she was mourning the deaths of several loved ones before the airing of the first season of Potomac and that her husband’s mention of the d-word was also devastating, considering she thought the show would help her move past her grief: “It felt like another death.” “I needed to do it for me, so that’s why I did it,” said Charisse. Ultimately her husband Eddie STOPPED speaking to her when the show aired. Crazy right? Do you think she made the right decision to do the show? Check out the full interview below: WENN
Paris Jackson is in the early stages of launching a career as a high-profile MAW (model/actress/whatever), which means she’s everywhere these days. Sources say Paris has 20 full-time employees working around the clock to keep her in the spotlight, so it’s not surprising that she’s been successful in her efforts to boost her public profile. Unfortunately, Paris’ bid to become more famous has led to increased attenion being paid to some of her more camera-shy family members. Last month, fans flipped when Paris shared a photo of Blanket Jackson , as Michael’s 15-year-old son is rarely spotted in public or on social media. Yesterday, he popped up again, in the Instagram story screen-grabbed above. Again, longtime Jackson family fans were pleased to see that the most low-key of Michael’s kids looks to be happy and healthy. And obviously, many commented on Blanket’s resemblance to the King of Pop. But there are still many who are concerned about the boy’s well-being. And it seems that Paris might be one of them. Sources say Paris is frightened for Blanket’s future , but when she expresses her concerns to other family members, they apparently fall on deaf ears. Currently, it seems there’s disagreement with regard to who should be caring for Blanket and to what degree. Michael’s mother, Katherine Jackson, is the boy’s legal guardian, but insiders say she’s rarely home, and often not up to the task of caring for a teenager. As a result, much of Blanket’s day-to-day care is left up to Paris’ Aunt Rebbie, who many family members reportedly feel has been negligent in her duties. So the boy has been passed along to a third relative, T.J. Jackson, who frequently stays with him at a home formerly owned by Michael, but it seems T.J. isn’t able to live with Blanket full-time. On top of everything else, some fans now believe that Paris is exploiting Blanket by posting images of him on social media. In short, it’s a whole lot more drama for the Jackson family. We’re sure they’re somewhat used to it by now.
I know my eyesight isn’t great — spending 5 days a week with your nose an inch from your computer screen probably isn’t very good for your eyes, plus there’s all that stuff my mom used to tell about how my private bathroom time would make me go blind. So maybe it’s just me, but it kind of looks like Amy Jackson is wearing a pad or something in her bikini bottoms in this photoshoot. That said, I guess it doesn’t really matter, because she’s smoking hot no matter what. And that’s something I’ve got no problem seeing. Continue reading →
