3-D documentary beats ‘Just Go with It’ with $12.35 million. By Shawn Adler Justin Bieber in “Never Say Never” Photo: Paramount Pictures America has come down with a severe case of Bieber Fever, and stars Adam Sandler, Jennifer Aniston and Channing Tatum, among others, are left looking for a cure. The 3-D concert pic, “Justin Bieber: Never Say Never,” topped all comers at the Friday box-office, pulling in $12.35 million from 3,105 screens to start the Valentine’s Day weekend. The performance film continues the music-themed genre’s revitalization in recent years, following strong February openings for the similarly styled “Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience” in 2009 and “Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both World’s Concert Tour” in 2008. In second place, the Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston-starring “Just Go with It” pulled $9.7 million from 3,548 screens. The latest in a string of man-child-grows-up flicks from Sandler, “Just Go with It” could still win the weekend with a high Saturday bounce. New releases “Gnomeo and Juliet,” starring the voices of James McAvoy and Emily Blunt, and “The Eagle” featuring Channing Tatum and Jamie Bell, followed in third and fourth place, respectively, with the former pulling in $6.1 million and the latter just $2.75 million. Rounding out the top five, last week’s winner, “The Roommate,” managed just $2.6 million on Friday. The Leighton Meester-starring roommate romp brought its total up to $20.3 million in its second week of release. Last week’s second-place film, the James Cameron-endorsed “Sanctum,” fell all the way to eighth place, scaring up $1.4 million on 3-D and IMAX screens. Among the rest of the top ten, Oscar frontrunners “The King’s Speech” (sixth place) and “True Grit” (ninth place) continued their impressive runs. The mother of golden-voiced homeless man Ted Williams has urged her son to return to rehab . But it doesn’t sound like Williams plans on listening. “My reason for leaving treatment was because it gave me a sense of it being scripted,” he told 10TV News in Columbus this week. “I was doing live telephone call-ins with Dr. Phil and my girlfriend and my ex-wife and all my kids. It became somewhat of a scripted circus, and a form of anonymity was lost.” How is Williams doing since leaving the treatment facility? He tells The Early Show in the following interview that troubles with drinking are “behind me” and “I am more appreciative of life. I’m not taking it for granted.” Let’s hope it remains that way. Christina Aguilera botched the National Anthem at Super Bowl XLV and may have an obvious drinking problem. But she did receive a piece of good news this week. She and Jordan Bratman reached a divorce settlement that was filed in court, and better yet, dude finally moved out of her house. He was still living in that piece! Jordan, Christina and her new boyfriend Matt Rutler were all living under the same roof, along with their son Max. That’s not awkward at all, and explains a lot. Christina and Jordan separated in October. [Photo: Pacific Coast News] Sources say they will share joint custody of Max, although the legal papers don’t specify the terms of custody. As far as their assets, the couple had a prenup. Reports say that Bratman will receive more than required by the prenup in the settlement, although the exact amount is unclear. As for what Xtina received? Jordan moving out is a start. The divorce won’t be final until six months from the date it was originally filed, so on April 15, she’s legally a single woman. Well, she’s still dating Matt. But you get the idea.
