Early last week, we reported that Courtney Love lost custody of daughter Frances Bean Cobain, her only child with her late husband, rocker Kurt Cobain. What wasn’t specified was why Frances Bean is now under guardianship of Kurt’s mother and sister (sparking a series of Facebook rants from Courtney). A new clue has just surfaced, however.

Jamie Lynn Spear s looked every inch the young mom as she took daughter Maddie to a Louisiana gas station. Spears, 18, was dressed for the scorching summer in a bright pink T-shirt, skimpy cut-off denim shorts, flip flops and white sunglasses. The actress stopped off at the gas station to pick up supplies and carried in one-year-old Maddie on her hip.
