Gleebasing: ‘I Think I Want to Marry You’

While reliving the glorious high of Gwyneth Paltrow’s episode of Glee last week (do not be foolish; it was her episode entirely), Movieline sadly figured that viewers would not score another hit of Ryan Murphy’s series this season that would produce the same euphoria. But we were wrong, because last night’s episode — regrettably titled “Furt” — delivered what Gleams* are made of: a storyline in which Sue Sylvester marries Sue Sylvester, Mike O’M alley steals screentime from Schue and Carol Burnett guest-stars as a deadbeat mother who sings Broadway tunes. Now onto the highs and lows.

Carey Mulligan ‘Not Famous Enough’ for Glee?

According to the new issue of Vogue , Oscar nominee Carey Mulligan isn’t cut out for Ryan Murphy’s slap-happy Fox singalong, and it has nothing to do with her range. “I want to be in Glee ,” she said in the magazine , “but I’m told I’m not famous enough to be a cameo.” This dredges up all my old resentments about the role of Sue Sylvester not going to Alfred Molina. Glee Writers Offer Semi-Apology for Mr. Schue’s White Rapping

Who knew you could have so much fun with an Emmy campaign? While the For Your Consideration ads for Glee don’t include any veiled threats toward the future well-being of the show’s young cast , they do feature a mea culpa of sorts: an acknowledgment (via Sue Sylvester) that Will Schuester’s white rapping is fairly awful. Or as Sue puts it, less appealing than a wet rat. No arguments here! Heres the apologetic ad, which covered the Hollywood Reporter this morning:

You think that your paycheck is unfair? Imagine being an Emmy-winning actress who’s being out-earned by a 16-year-old. Or even worse, put yourself in the shoes of an accomplished Broadway and television star who pulls in just as much as a spray-tanned Jersey Shore personality who’s best known for eating pickles drunk.
