Perhaps taking a cute from Lady Gaga’s “Stuck on F—in’ You” , Britney Spears has released an old song of hers entitled “Strangest Love.” Old to her, new to us! While it’s rumored to be a holdover from the future Mrs. Jason Trawick’s In The Zone glory days of 2003, it was left off that album for a reason. It’s fairly tame. Still, it’s a decent if not amazing ballad, and a nice addition to Britney’s catalog. Britney Spears’ engagement last week was welcome news to millions of fans and celebrities alike, drawing praise from the likes of 50 Cent and even K-Fed . Jason Alexander, however, does not approve. Back in 2004, Brit’s childhood friend personified the term 15 minutes of fame … though it was more like 55 hours. They got married on a whim in Vegas. Their union was annulled less than three days later, but Jason Alexander likely got it in at least once – and continues to throw in his two cents about Brit. In short, he’s not a fan of Jason Trawick. “I know everyone wants me to be happy about this, but I am not,” Alexander, who is now in training for the World of MMA fighting competition (apparently), told Us . “I think it’s fake and I think people are afraid to say it.” “If you look at all the pictures between them there is no connection. They look like they are going through the motions. It seems like a answer to the court thing.” The singer is currently under the conservatorship of her father Jamie Spears, and Trawick, who once served as the star’s agent, meets Jamie’s stamp of approval. “Sort of a nice way to sew it all up; [Britney] marries her handler,” Alexander sniped. “That way she always has someone controlling her. After arriving in Las Vegas, the couple headed to Planet Hollywood where they checked into their 3,100-square-foot suite designed by former Top Design host Jonathon Adler. Spears, donning a short, nude Herve Leger dress, stepped out a few hours later and revealed her highly-anticipated Neil Lane sparkler during a congratulatory welcome on the hotel’s mezzanine. Planet Hollywood Chairman Robert Earl presented Trawick with an oversized birthday cake in a quick ceremony. And what better place to end the night than Paris’s Chateau Nightclub. Singer is reportedly engaged to marry boyfriend Jason Trawick. After a report surfaced on TMZ that the singer’s longtime beau and “Criminal” co-star Jason Trawick planned to pop the question Friday night (December 16) in Las Vegas, the singer took to Twitter early Friday and had this mysterious message for her fans. “OMG. Last night Jason surprised me with the one gift I’ve been waiting for,” she wrote . “Can’t wait to show you! SO SO SO excited!!!! Xxo” A rep for the singer hadn’t responded to MTV News’ request for comment by press time. TMZ further reports that Jason asked Britney’s dad, Jamie, for his daughter’s hand before he popped the question. According to reports, Britney already knew about the engagement and the couple will sign a prenuptial agreement. As for her conservatorship, her conservators have signed off on the couple’s plans to marry; a judge will most likely give them the go-ahead to tie the knot. A source tells Usmagazine.com that Trawick asked his lady love to marry him on Thursday night while the two were at a romantic dinner celebrating his 40th birthday. The couple will celebrate the engagement at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas on Friday. “This is something they’ve both wanted for a long time,” the source told the site. “It’s a way to cement their family. They’re both extremely happy and can’t wait to become man and wife.” While there’s no confirmation from Spears’ camp just yet about the engagement, Spears did reveal something on Twitter: what she bought Jason for his birthday. “Hbday Jason! Wow. Just wow. Britney Spears celebrates her 30th birthday. It seems like a lifetime ago that we fell in love with this singer. In those 30 years, she’s seen almost that many scandals. She’s gone wild, then calmed down. She’s been on top, hit rock bottom, then climbed and fought her way back to the pinnacle again. Through it all, she’s entertained, and she’s won our hearts. Back at you, birthday girl. Back at you . She’s brought us so excitement, joy and fun, from musical, fashion and celebrity gossip standpoints. We’re thrilled to wish the pride of Kentwood the best today. From what we’ve heard, Jason Trawick may be planning a surprise to make today extra special, although he may put it off another week until her tour ends.
