Jennifer Lopez Plays Dance Diva On New Single ‘On The Floor’

RedOne-produced tune featuring Pitbull premiered on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show. By James Dinh Jennifer Lopez Photo: Jeffrey Mayer/ WireImage With the new season of “American Idol” premiering Wednesday, you’d think Jennifer Lopez would have enough on her plate. However, the singer/actress is working hard at a full-blown musical comeback as her brand-new single, “On the Floor,” featuring Pitbull, premiered early Tuesday morning (January 18) on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show . In the track produced by RedOne, Lopez commands the dance floor over a techno beat, which incorporates a sample of Kaoma’s worldwide hit “Lambada.” “If you go hard, you gotta get on the floor/ If you’re a party freak, then step on the floor/ If you’re an animal, then tear up the floor/ Break a sweat on the floor/ Yeah, we work on the floor,” she sings. Jenny fans got their early fix when the demo for the Pitbull-assisted tune hit the Internet on Friday. Later that day, Seacrest sent Lopez fans into a frenzy when he revealed he would debut the finalized version of the track this week. Lopez is expected to make a radio appearance with her “Idol” co-star on his radio show Wednesday. “Fun talking to you on the carpet last night … look forward to catching up Wednesday morning on air!!!” she tweeted . J. Lo has been teasing fans about her collaboration with super-producer RedOne (Lady Gaga’s “Just Dance” and “Bad Romance”) via Twitter . “I see u @RedOne_Official! We’re making BIG things happen ‘On the Floor’ this new year!!!” she wrote last week. Back in November, RedOne spoke to Blackbook magazine about his studio sessions with the singer, saying, “Musically, I’m trying to combine all the elements that [make] her who she is. We connected, and it was easy to work together. She’s in another headspace. She’s very positive and content. She knows what she wants to do.” In addition to “On the Floor,” the entertainer’s viral clip for her buzz track “Good Hit” also surfaced online. In the minute-and-a-half clip, the Latin bombshell instructs her all-female class on the latest in “Advanced Fierceology/ Work It Out 101.” What do you think of J. Lo’s new tune? Britney Spears To Premiere ‘Hold It Against Me’ On January 7

Radio program director says the track produced by Dr. Luke and Max Martin has a ‘really unique’ beat. By James Dinh Britney Spears Photo: Jeffrey Mayer/WireImage Britney Spears is making sure to start the year off right with new music. As speculated, the pop princess is set to premiere her brand-new track called “Hold It Against Me” late next week, according to Entertainment Weekly. In the latest issue of the magazine, Sharon Dastur, program director for New York’s Z100, dished a few details about the pop star’s anticipated new single. “It’s produced by Dr. Luke and Max Martin,” Dastur revealed. “And the beat that they give her is really unique compared to other artists — this infectious bass beat beneath the song. Plus, the hook is just amazing. It will be out on January 7.” Rumored lyrics to “Hold It Against Me” circulated on the Internet earlier this week, but Britney’s camp has yet to confirm whether they are real or not. And while details about the track remain scarce, a tweet from Dr. Luke indicated that it will feature a guitar. Fans began speculating about Britney’s new single when PopJustice.com reported on the song earlier this month. Dr. Luke also began to tease fans about the tune, tweeting, “I/we never wrote a song called ‘don’t hold it against me’…. BewaRe of InaccuraTe info kids 😉 We did write ‘hold it against me’ but those lyrics are NOT the lyrics ….” Swedish producer Shellback recently spoke about Spears’ work ethic and professionalism while working on her new LP, which drops in March. “[Britney]’s actually damn professional. You read a lot on the Internet that Britney is not singing and mimes, but she is actually damn professional,” he said. “She’s done it since she was 16. And just rhythmic way, she is f—ing awesome! And you do not have to go through and talk about the rhythms and stuff that you sometimes have to do. She’s very easy in the studio.” The “3” singer has already begun casting dancers for a new music video. Just last week, the fansite BreatheHeavy.com posted a notice sent out by Britney’s team announcing auditions for a video shooting in January. In a video purported to be shot during auditions, which were coordinated by choreographer and former Britney collaborator Brian Friedman, dancers are seen learning a routine to “Criminal Intent” by Swedish songstress Robyn. ‘Harry Potter’ Star Warwick Davis Shares Most Memorable Moments

‘I got to do some really interesting and important things,’ Davis says of two-part ‘Deathly Hallows.’ By Kara Warner Warwick Davis Photo: MTV News Ask any of the “Harry Potter” castmembers to name their favorite moment over the course of filming eight movies, and they’ll be hard-pressed to select just one. No matter what level of involvement, from stars to extras, production designers to makeup artists, those close to the wizard franchise feel lucky just to have been a part of the “Potter” magic. And perhaps no one more than actor Warwick Davis , who has not only appeared in all eight of the films, but played two memorable characters: Professor Filius Flitwick and Gringotts’ formidable goblin, Griphook. When MTV News caught up with the actor at the opening of Universal’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park last month, we asked him to narrow down his character’s most memorable moments. “I think all of my favorite moments are in the last two films,” Davis said. “I got to do some really interesting and important things, which is nice. Previously in the films, it’s always been great to be there, but normally I’ve been the kind of comic relief. I’ve had silly, fun things to do, which have been very memorable,” he explained. “It’s wonderful. People always remember those moments, but I felt having Griphook and Flitwick [in the final two films] — I have much more bearing and importance on the plot as well.” Davis added that the absolute best moment for him was both surreal and emotional. “People who’ve read the books will know this ( spoiler alert ), but the moment where Voldemort exclaims that Harry Potter is dead … to have read that and to actually be there as it’s happening, that was quite emotional and quite surreal. It sends a shiver down your spine because you’re standing there and witnessing this event. It’s almost like reading the newspaper going back in time, witnessing a world-changing event.” What’s your favorite Flitwick or Griphook moment? And what scene are you most eager to see played out in the final “Harry Potter” films? Tell us in the comments! Katy Perry Says She’s Tamed ‘Professional Prostitute’ Russell Brand

‘He’s an extremist, which can be both good and bad,’ singer says of her fiance in the August issue of Esquire U.K. By Jocelyn Vena Katy Perry and Russell Brand Photo: Jeffrey Mayer/ WireImage While Katy Perry appears topless on the cover of the U.K. edition of Esquire, it’s what she says on the inside that may have everyone talking. In the magazine’s August issue, Perry opens up about her relationship with bad-boy comedian Russell Brand , noting that she tamed him. “He used to basically be a professional prostitute — now he’s not. So he’s an extremist, which can be both good and bad,” she says, according to Huffingtonpost.com . “I always needed someone stronger than me. And I am, like, a f—ing strong elephant of a women. I say that, hopefully, in the humblest way I can.” And it may have been her incredibly strong personality that made the pair fall almost instantly in love with one another. “I was 25, 30 feet away from him. And I threw the bottle straight at him: hit him smack dab on the head. Can you imagine the horrible feeling he had, when he was used to getting everything he wanted? I was like, ‘You’ve met your match, motherf—er.’ A week later we went on vacation in Thailand,” she explained, adding, “I’m like, ‘Oh my God, I am you. You are me.’ Two divas in one house. It’s like splitting the atom. It shouldn’t happen.” Perry also discussed working with Snoop Dogg on her hit single “California Gurls,” saying, “I was thinking to myself how perfect it would be to have a California anthem. I can’t let the Beach Boys down. I can’t let Tupac down. I had the idea to put Snoop on — I thought he would be the cherry on top, and it would make me look cooler.” And working with Snoop allowed Perry the chance to partake in one of the rapper’s alleged favorite pastimes. “I was scared for my life to get off the hookah. Everyone else is smoking everything else. I was saying to myself, ‘If that sh– still gets Snoop high, if I breathe it in I will die. I will be on a permanent balloon.’ I was like, ‘Hold on to the hookah.’ ” What do you think of Perry’s comments about fianc

Guillermo Del Toro Says ‘Hobbit’ Departure Was ‘Extremely Painful’

‘I believe these films will happen,’ filmmaker says in message to fans. By Josh Wigler Guillermo Del Toro Photo: Jeffrey Mayer/ WireImage In an open letter thanking his supporters (and even “those that never did convert or believed”), Guillermo Del Toro has issued his final farewell to the world of Middle-Earth and further explained his departure from “The Hobbit.” The director announced his withdrawal from the New Zealand-based two-part “Lord of the Rings” prequel early last week, citing the “ongoing delays in the setting of a start date for filming” as the main reason for his decision. While Del Toro didn’t clarify the details surrounding these delays, his latest message, posted as a reply to a comment from “Pasi” on the TheOneRing.net forum, gives an overview of the emotions driving his departure from the project. “My commitment to the project demanded enormous sacrifices both in personal and professional terms, the consequences of which will ripple for years. I relocated my entire life and family to New Zealand and first came on board in 2008,” he said. “So, while the cited delays, contractual complexities or obstacles cannot be attributed to a single event or entity, you will simply have to believe that they were of sufficient complexity and severity to lead to the current situation. Trust me on this, Pasi — leaving [New Zealand] and the ‘Hobbit’ crew is extremely painful.” Although Del Toro will no longer direct “The Hobbit,” he remains onboard as one of the film’s many writers. Additionally, several of Del Toro’s designs, story boards and animatics that “accurately [represent] my ideas” will remain in place for the films. Producer Peter Jackson’s manager said last week that though Jackson has no intention of taking the director’s chair, he remains committed to the franchise. “I believe these films will happen,” Del Toro stated. “Perhaps even sooner than we may anticipate we will look at the finished film and then — I will tear up whenever I recognize a set or a creature or a quirk created under my supervision. Everyone on [the One Ring message] boards will get two movies. Me? I will be watching filmic family albums. Photos of my children from far away.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Hobbit.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com .

Jennifer Hudson, Leona Lewis’ ‘Sex And The City 2’ Duet Hits Internet

Uplifting ballad ‘Love Is Your Color’ is first single from the May 25 soundtrack. By Jocelyn Vena Jennifer Hudson Photo: Jeffrey Mayer/ WireImage Jennifer Hudson and Leona Lewis offer some hope to the lovesick Carrie Bradshaws of the world with their new duet “Love Is Your Color,” which hit the Internet this week. The song is featured on the star-studded “Sex and the City 2” soundtrack , out May 25. In the first “SATC” flick, Hudson not only played Carrie Bradshaw’s assistant but she also had the song “All Dressed in Love” on the soundtrack. And though Sarah Jessica Parker confirmed that the Oscar winner doesn’t have a cameo in the May 27 sequel, Hudson’s can enjoy her and Lewis on the midtempo ballad. “Love is your color/ It makes you shine,” the girls sing in the chorus. “Sometimes it’s hard to cope/ Long as you always know to show your color/ It comes from inside/ Everything else is black and white/ Love is your color.” The soundtrack also features the cast of the flick Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon, performing the Helen Reddy tune “I Am Woman.” The soundtrack also includes previously released songs, such as Alicia Keys’ “Empire State of Mind (Part II) Broken Down” and Erykah Badu’s “Window Seat.” The uplifting, empowering songs of the soundtrack seem to fit right in line with the “black-and-white road movie” feeling that Parker says is prevalent in “SATC 2.” “We’re hoping that it’s fun and light,” she said, contrasting it to the melancholy first movie. “It feels like a souffl
