This week on Teen Mom 2, Briana’s baby shower went downhill in a hurry when Luis showed up, while Jenelle finally had her day in court. Elsewhere, Kailyn struggled with juggling school, the boys, Javi, Jo, and Leah considered her all options regarding Ali’s special needs. As for the THIRD man in the picture these days, Kailyn seemed relatively sanguine about the prospect of raising a kid with Chris Lopez. She said he would never challenge her in court or want child support, unlike Javi and Jo … of course, if that’s true, what is the reason? Chris has been adamant about remaining off-camera and while the photo of Lopez holding Baby Lo last weekend was great, is it a priority? Does he want to be MIA whenever he wants and be present only when it’s convenient for him, not when Kailyn or the baby need him? We’re not judging or saying we can predict the future, but Lopez himself has made overtures toward being a peripheral figure at best. Just saying. And here’s hoping we won’t be. Meanwhile, Leah Messer got Ali an aide after her physical limitations continued to wreak havoc on her health, and her daily life. Chelsea also took Aubree out for a girls day out, and while MTV may try to make it appear otherwise, they are just the cutest. Jenelle finally had her day in court as her quest to win custody of Jace back reached a turning point … that did not go in her favor. Seriously, this is Jenelle we’re talking about. Sometimes, when it comes to Jenelle Evans, all you can do is just sigh, shake your head, and go “Oh, honey …” This is one of those times. In the current season of Teen Mom 2, we've been seeing Jenelle's relationship with her mother, Barbara, worsen as they get closer and closer to their big court date. A few years ago, Jenelle decided to stop doing heroin and start trying to be a mother, and ever since then, she and Barbara have been going to court to figure something out with the custody of poor Jace . After a bit of rescheduling — and after their lawyers managed to push back the final court date a few times — they finally settled the custody deal in May. We already know what happened, but in the world of Teen Mom 2, the big day is just a few weeks away. And things have been super, super tense. In last week's episode, we saw Jenelle show up at a restaurant where Barbara was trying to have dinner with friends and harass her until she felt she had to leave. She accused Barbara of being drunk , which obviously wasn't true, and then of driving drunk with Jace and a couple of other kids in the car. When her mom got sick of the accusations and left, Jenelle went to her house and banged on the doors and windows for two hours, then called the police. When she told this story, she seemed to think that she was in the right , and she and her fiancé, David Eason, insisted that the scene they'd made had ensured that Jenelle would get custody of Jace at their court date. It was really, really bizarre, and that theme continues in this sneak peek of the upcoming episode. In this clip, Jenelle and David are having a little chat about Barbara. The issue is that it's Mother's Day weekend, and Jenelle wants to spend the holiday with Jace — but Barbara won't respond to her phone calls. Which makes sense, considering what had just happened between them. “You know, it really upsets me that Jace isn't here,” she told David. “And all the other kids are here. You know, Maryssa's spending Mother's Day with her mom.” “Everyone's with their mom, but not my son.” Meanwhile, Jenelle's other son, Kaiser is playing unsupervised in another room, but he's apparently not who she's referring to here. “It's your mom's fault,” David remarks. “What a great mother.” Does anyone else think it's weird that David is commenting on someone else's parenting when he's facing jail time because he violated a restraining order in place against him for his own son? But yeah, sure, let's bash Barbara. David theorizes that Babs isn't letting Jenelle see Jace because of what happened at that restaurant, because she's “scared” that they're going to get more evidence against her for the custody case. He also says that Barbara “knows that she's probably gonna lose Jace,” so she's trying to get in a bunch of time with him before the hearing. Meanwhile, Jenelle says that they need to come up with a deal in court where “it has to be set in stone that she cannot hold Jace from me, and if she does, she gets contempt of court and goes to jail.” OK, so a few things here. One, obviously Barbara doesn't want Jace to go to Jenelle's for Mother's Day. She's the one who raised him, she's the one who parents him — she may not be his biological mother, but in all other ways, she is his mom. Two, shut up, David. Three, If Barbara has full custody of Jace and there's no visitation schedule in place — which is the case for this scene — she can hold him from whoever she wants. Have you ever noticed that even though Jenelle Evans has three children now, she's never seemed particularly maternal? Sure, she's managed to keep Kaiser and Ensley alive, and they seem like healthy, reasonably happy kids, but we've never really seen Jenelle enjoying being a mother, you know? After Jace was born, she took off night after night because she thought that since he was asleep, he'd be fine — which, as you surely know, is not how babies work. With Kaiser, she seems overwhelmed and annoyed with him most of the time, and we really haven't seen much footage of her with Ensley to be able to get a feel for how she is with her … Until now! In a new sneak peek for tomorrow night's episode of Teen Mom 2, we see Jenelle talk to a producer about how life is with so many children. (At this point, she still has random visitation with Jace, but Kaiser and Ensley, as well as David's daughter, Maryssa, live with her.) As the clip begins, she explains that David took Kaiser and Maryssa to school while she sorts out things around the house and takes care of Ensely. Which means that she runs around upstairs while Ensley chills in a baby swing down in the living room. A producer asks her how it's been to get moved into their new house while caring for so many kids, and Jenelle doesn't hold back. “It's been pretty hectic,” she says. “I don't know, I'm so confused about life right now. I can't think straight.” The producer suggests that it's all too much, and she doesn't argue. “I mean, I'm tired by the end of the day, but when I wake up I'm happy that I'm in this house,” she explains. When they were in their old house, she couldn't stop thinking about how much she disliked it , and how she just wanted to “be on my land, away from people, away from traffic.” She then goes to get the baby so she can feed her a bottle, and she tells the producer “See, when I try to get things done I have to stop so I can feed Ensley.” Because how dare that newborn not get up and get her own dang snack, right? When she's asked if she ever gets any time for herself, she says that she's able to shower and eat and sleep, “but that's about it.” But honestly, it sounds like she's got way more time to herself than many moms — being able to shower and sleep after just giving birth are pretty big luxuries, actually. While Jenelle doesn't drop any major bombs in this sneak peek, the interesting thing is her demeanor. It's looks like she's more than just exhausted.
