Jennifer Hudson Performs on Dancing With the Stars

The Dancing With the Stars results weren’t too shocking last night. Nor was the fact that Jennifer Hudson brought the house down. The Oscar winner and Grammy-nominated singer was the week’s musical guest of honor, following the likes of Chris Brown and Selena Gomez in previous weeks. Here’s Jennifer doing “Don’t Look Down” and “Feeling Good”: Jennifer Hudson – Don’t Look Down (Dancing With the Stars) Jennifer Hudson – Feeling Good (Dancing With the Stars)

Robert Pattinson Had Kate Moss On His Walls As A Boy

By Jocelyn Vena Robert Pattinson in Elle Photo: Carter Smith / Art + Commerce These days, Robert Pattinson is the guy who girls hang posters of on their walls at home. But when the “Twilight” heartthrob was growing up, he had a few lovely ladies covering his bedroom walls. “I was always obsessed with Kate Moss. On my bedroom wall, I had a poster of Linda Blair and Kate Moss,” he told Elle of his celebrity crushes growing up. “I always liked Jane Fonda. Who else? Ellen Burstyn.” Pattinson, these days, is as hot as British supermodel Moss was back in the ’90s. He’s a screen god with a growing r

Was Pia Toscano’s Exit The Most Shocking In ‘American Idol’ History?

Experts say Pia’s ninth-place finish is up there with Jennifer Hudson, Chris Daughtry, Tamyra Gray. By Gil Kaufman Pia Toscano appears on “American Idol” on Thursday Photo: FOX For die-hard “American Idol” fans, every week’s elimination is a gut-punch, a “c’mon, really?” moment where they can’t believe America didn’t vote to keep their favorite singer on the show. But from the moment Pia Toscano hit the bottom three for the first time to the jaw-dropping realization that she was going home in ninth place, Thursday night’s elimination felt like an “Idol”-quake of possibly historic proportions. The contestants seemed stunned, Randy Jackson held his head and said “no, no” and then appeared to mouth an expletive, and Jennifer Lopez was brought to tears at the realization that one of the most viable female contestants in recent “Idol” history was gone and that the judges appeared to have squandered their save on commercially suspect Casey Abrams. “I’m really bummed about this. It just sucks,” said longtime “Idol” watcher and TVLine.com “Idol” recapper Michael Slezak. “One of the main factors is the judges. There’s been a complete absence of any kind of guidance from the judging panel, which opens up the prospect of ‘vote for your favorite.’ And if you pick your favorite early on, you stick with them and vote 500 times a night no matter how they perform.” Slezak faulted the show for pushing viewers to vote for their favorites rather than the best performances, and he said while this might not be the most shocking “Idol” elimination of all time, it is definitely the most disappointing in the show’s history. Yes, in retrospect, it was a bummer that now-successful rocker Chris Daughtry went out in fourth place ahead of eventual winner Taylor Hicks and that veteran backup singer Melinda Doolittle left in third place behind runner-up beatboxer Blake Lewis in season six. And nobody can ever forget (or forgive) the seventh-place finish of eventual Oscar and Grammy winner Jennifer Hudson in season three. But Slezak said Toscano’s ouster is perhaps the most troubling for what it says about the 10th season of “Idol.” After seemingly getting on a roll with the fresh energy of new judges Lopez and Steven Tyler and a ratings boost and some buzz, he said the show has slid into dangerous territory over the past few weeks that may put it on a road to ruin. “At least with Tamyra [Gray] and Daughtry, they finished fourth, so there were five more weeks of performances, and you could see the full scope of what they could do,” he said. “We were still finding out who Pia was. and she could have grown more, and now we’ll never see that.” He said after a good start and a rebound from a terrible season nine, this sets “Idol” back 20 paces because Pia felt like someone who could really sell albums, as opposed to a “cute guy” who voters will text in their support for 500 times but probably never buy an album from. Also disappointed was “Idol” blogger MJ Santilli , who said, for her, it was definitely one of the most shocking eliminations ever on the show. “It’s easy to forget what a terrible contestant Jennifer Hudson was in light of her recent successes,” she said of Hudson’s up-and-down run on “Idol.” “Daughtry’s boot came toward the end of the contest, when pretty much anything can happen. Plus, by top four, it was pretty clear that Taylor Hicks was kicking his ass. I would say the same for Tamyra. Her ouster came close to the end of the competition. Kelly Clarkson had already gained momentum,” she said of the other singers whose early boots have set the shock standard for the show. Santilli said Pia seemed destined for a Gray-esque boot in fourth or fifth place, because, like Gray, she was a technically proficient singer who didn’t excite viewers. “But the idea of so many of Pia’s fellow Idols outlasting her was unfathomable,” she said. Slezak said one thing that is clear after Thursday’s result is that the judges have “Pia’s blood” on their hands. “For Randy to sit there slack-jawed and J.Lo to force out tears … after the last two weeks, the idea of giving actual critiques went out the window,” he said. “The last two weeks, everyone gets a gold star. When you give everyone the same gold star, it’s confusing. There are nine performances in 90 minutes and a lot happens, and it’s their job to give voters a sense of direction … who is working and who might be a viable recording artist. Otherwise, why have them up there if they say everyone is great?” In other words, after lots of talk about how nobody was missing meanie go-to judge Simon Cowell this season, it seems viewers are, indeed, in need of his strong, guiding hand. Another potential problem, Slezak noted, is that after 10 seasons, the newness of voting has worn off and perhaps some voters are thinking, “Why should I vote for Pia 20 times when some teenager in her bedroom is going to text 400 times” for the cute guy? Epitome Of A Bad Father: Dad Inks Three-Year-Old Son With ‘Daddy’s Boy’ Tattoo

What kind of animal could do something so selfish to a precious, innocent child??? A Georgia man was let off with a slap on the wrist after pleading guilty to tattooing his 3-year-old son. A judge in Floyd County, Ga., ruled on Monday that Eugene Ashley must pay $300 and serve 12 months probation for giving his son a tattoo on his shoulder that said “DB” – short for “Daddy’s Boy” – in 2009. Ashley was arrested about a year later after an official from the Department of Child Services visited his house and spotted the tatted up tyke, the Rome News-Tribune newspaper reported. It’s illegal in Georgia to give a tattoo to someone younger than 18. Prosecutors called the crime “egregious,” but said that it would have been difficult to prosecute because it would rely solely on the toddler’s testimony. “I don’t know if we would be able to elicit a testimony from a child,” Patterson told the paper. Ashley said he was drunk and didn’t remember giving the toddler the tattoo, Georgia’s WSBTV television reported. The boy was taken into custody by child services and is now living with his uncle. The uncle, George Hawkins, said that the boy remembered the tattoo and recalled that it hurt “a little bit,” the station reported. SMH at this a*shole being too drunk to remember giving the tattoo… that means you were too drunk to be watching a child!!! We can’t believe they only fined him $300 dollars. Poor lil precious baby. Britney Spears’ Femme Fatale: Will The Album Be #1?

Record is projected to sell 275,000 to 300,000 units in its first week. By Jocelyn Vena Britney Spears Photo: Jive Britney Spears’ new album, Femme Fatale , is a chugging dance-pop album full of sexual innuendo and thumping beats, made even sexier by Spears’ flirty singing style. It’s Spears’ latest release since 2008’s Circus, which sped straight up the charts as soon as Britney’s dedicated fans could get their hands on it. While Spears remained somewhat under the radar for her last release, this time around, the pop star has been on a media blitz, and as of press time, Spears had the #1 album on iTunes. Hits Daily Double Senior Editor Roy Trakin explained to MTV News that judging from sales so far, Spears will likely have the #1 album by next week. “We’re going out with the projection 275,000 to 300,000 [albums sold]; probably below label projections but those are always inflated. I think everything’s kicking in. There seems to be a lot of press attention,” he said of the album. “I think this is still a healthy total for her given the market and given where her career has been. This is a good showing.” Not only have sales been strong, music critics have also been loving the album. “The critical reception seems to be fairly positive, as well. That doesn’t have much to do with sales, but the general feeling is positive. She’s gonna be #1,” Trakin said. “300,000 is the over-under.” This week, some of Spears’ biggest competition comes from Adele, whose 21 has been selling consistently well for weeks, Jennifer Hudson’s newest release, I Remember Me, which sits at #2 on the Billboard 200 chart, Chris Brown, whose album F.A.M.E. is currently the #1 album in the country, and this week’s other big new release, Wiz Khalifa’s debut album, Rolling Papers . “Given the state of the market right now, this will probably be, I would think, this will end up being the second biggest debut of the year. Only Adele would be larger this year,” Trakin said. “That’s pretty good, actually. The real big story this week is Wiz Khalifa with Rolling Papers, with between 190,000 and 215,000.” Is there any chance of an upset that forces Spears out of the #1 spot? Trakin explains that that is unlikely, saying, “The Wiz Khalifa showing is strong, but it’s about 100,000 below what Britney’s gonna do.” To see what Spears has to say about the album and to watch her as she puts the finishing touches on it, don’t miss the “Britney Spears: I Am the Femme Fatale” special, airing Sunday, April 3, at 9 p.m. ET on MTV. Adele Back At #1 On Billboard

Punkers Rise Against crash the boards at #2, while Travis Barker bows at #9. By Gil Kaufman Adele Photo: Jon Furniss/ WireImage Adele will retake the #1 position on the Billboard 200 next week after dropping down to the #2 slot last week. Sales of Adele’s 21 album were down 26 percent, but it still manages to retake the top thanks to 98,000 units moved, pushing the British R&B smoothie over the 750,000 mark after four weeks, according to figures provided by Nielsen SoundScan. That was enough to keep veteran punks Rise Against down at #2 with the debut of their latest, Endgame, which sold 85,000 copies to edge out last week’s #1, Lupe Fiasco ‘s Lasers, which sits at #3 on sales of 47,000 as sales dropped by 77 percent. The only other debut in the top 10 comes from Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker , whose all-solo bow, Give the Drummer Some, lands at #9 (28,000). The rest of the top 10: Glee: The Music, Volume 5 (#4, 43,000), Mumford & Sons , Sigh No More (#5, 41,000), Justin Bieber , Never Say Never – The Remixes (#6, 34,000), Avril Lavigne , Goodbye Lullaby (#7, 32,000), NOW 37 (#8, 30,000) and Marsha Ambrosius , Late Nights & Early Mornings (#10, 28,000). It was a short trip to the top 10 for veterans R.E.M. , whose Collapse Into Now slips 16 slots to #21 in its second week as sales dropped by 67 percent to 19,000. But apparently an appearance on “American Idol” last week was enough to boost the sales of the Black Eyed Peas’ slow-moving The Beginning, which jumps 16 places to #28 as sales were up 24 percent to 13,000, putting them just short of 600,000 in four months. The show even helped goose the sales for last season’s “Idol” winner, Lee DeWyze , whose dead-on-arrival debut, Live It Up, re-enters the top 200 after falling off the charts for six weeks. DeWyze, who also performed on “Idol” last week, quadrupled his weekly sales totals to 5,000, racing back into the top 200 at #96 and pushing the disc closer to 130,000 in total sales, the worst showing yet by an “Idol” winner. “iCarly” star Miranda Cosgrove’s second album, High Maintenance, comes in at #34 (11,000), while sales for a 10th anniversary “Idol” hits compilation were tepid, as the disc limps in at #136 with nearly 4,000 units shifted. Over on the iTunes albums chart, Rise Against take the top spot, followed by Adele, Fiasco, Mumford, the “Glee” compilation, Barker, Rihanna ‘s Loud, Bieber’s My World 2.0, Lavigne and Ambrosius. The iTunes singles chart belongs to Katy Perry ‘s collabo with Kanye West , “E.T.,” which edges out the first original “Glee” single, “Loser Like Me,” and the Black Eyed Peas’ “Just Can’t Get Enough.” The rest of the iTunes top 10 singles: Rihanna, “S&M”; the “Glee” cast, “Get It Right”; Lady Gaga , “Born This Way”; Chris Brown , “Look at Me Now”; Jennifer Lopez , “On the Floor”; Cee Lo Green , “Forget You” and Ke$ha , “Blow.” Next week should see a serious shuffling at the top, as stores will be stocking Jennifer Hudson’s second album, I Remember Me, as well as the first new disc in five years from the Strokes, Angles, and, fresh off a controversial window-bashing TV appearance, Chris Brown’s F.A.M.E.
