In the following video, the Oscar-winning actress pledges $2 million to Kosair Children’s Hospital in Kentucky. This generous gift was revealed at a press conference held at the Louisville medical center regarding the facility's plans to redevelop its heart center. The donation will be used for this purpose and also to build a new cardiac ICU. “I’m excited to announce we will be establishing the Jennifer Lawrence Foundation Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Kosair Children’s Hospital,” Lawrence says in the following video message. “As part of my effort to help these children and caregivers, I challenge the entire community to get behind this cause and help match my gift by raising an additional $2 million to support all of these brave and inspiring children.” Last December, Lawrence (a Kentucky native) visited this same medical center for the third year in a row to spread Christmas cheer to young patients. A press release in recognition of this great deed reads: “The Jennifer Lawrence Foundation Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) will feature private rooms dedicated to children recovering from heart procedures, open heart surgery including heart transplant, heart failure and other conditions requiring intensive care. “The new 14-bed unit will offer space for families to stay with their children. It will be staffed by additional specialists with cardiac critical care training and experience, dedicated nursing staff and other professionals focused solely on heart care.”

Former “It Girl” Anne Hathaway has taken to Facebook to defend newly-fallen “It Girl” Jennifer Lawrence. Earlier this week, the Joy actress was criticized for scolding a journalist over staring at his phone during an interview with her after she won the award for Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical. The internet got collectively pissed, deeming J. Law rude and out of line because the reporter was clearly foreign and may have been consulting his phone to translate the question. Today, Anne Hathaway swooped in to offer her thoughts on the controversy, writing: “Dear the Internet, It’s become pretty clear that the Jennifer Lawrence ‘scolding’ was taken out of context and that she was dryly joking with a journalist who was indeed using his phone to take photos of her.” But the Les Miserables actress may have been calling attention to a larger issue. “Let’s not continue the sad but common practice of building people – especially women- up just to viciously tear them down when we perceive them to have misstepped. I find it a scam the Jennifer Lawrence is winning awards at every award show, it’s like Hollywood just loves her and thinks she’s the best, because they needed a puppet to position as some high day rate, big pay day, for the producers to really maximize their take off a movie budget, which is all they really care about.. The 2016 Golden Globe Awards, the 73rd annual, aired live from Tinseltown Sunday, honoring the best of the best from TV and film. Well, according to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association anyway. Their picks are sometimes dubious, but it’s always a good time! With Ricky Gervais hosting and slinging the jabs left and right, it was a memorable night for fans – and of course, the television shows and movies you’d expect to win big. Mostly.
