WARNING to all men around America: do not mess with Demi Lovato. Or Alanis Morissette, for that matter. But we already knew that. Billed by ABC ahead of time as an “epic” duet, the singers came together on stage at the 2015 American Music Awards and took us back in time to 1995. In celebration of Morissette released her iconic album, “Jagged Little Pill,” the Canadian star teamed up with Lovato for a rendition of “You Oughta Know.” The performance of this anger-filled breakup anthem actually marked Morissette's first-ever time performing at the American Music Awards, despite having won two of its trophies back in the day, Favorite Pop/Rock Female and Favorite Pop/Rock Album in 1997. In August, meanwhile, Morissette also performed “You Oughta Know” with Taylor Swift as part of the latter’s 1989 tour. Moreover, she stopped by The Late Late Show with James Corden to update Ironic in hilarious fashion just a couple weeks ago. Isn't it nice to have Alanis back in our lives?!? Jennifer Lopez opened the 2015 American Music Awards with a dance performance for the ages. Seriously, you need to watch J. Lo get down and dirty to nearly every hit from the past calendar year. So, how did the ceremony top this medley to close the show? Easy: It brought in Justin Bieber! A little more than a week after his latest album went up for sale (and his number-one! Take that, One Direction!), the beloved artist put on a medley of his own as the final performer of the evening. Justin opened with “What Do You Mean” and then went into “Where Are U Now” before singing “Sorry” while being doused with water raining from above. ABC and T-Mobile had promised before the American Music Awards that Justin Bieber would “shatter expectations,” closing the show “in a way [we’ve] never seen before.” We guess that's technically, literally true. We've never seen a rain-soaked Bieber on stage before. Earlier in the night, Justin won Collaboration of the Year with Jack U for “Where Are U Now.” This marked Bieber's eighth win at the American Music Awards, after having taken home Artist of the Year in both 2010 and 2012. Selena Gomez turned the sexy factor way up at the 2015 American Music Awards. Due to the explicit lyrics in the chorus, the song was actually censored by ABC at times, but Selena's alluring outfit was on full display for all to see and enjoy throughout. She took to the stage after Jennifer Lopez opened the AMAs via an amazing dance routine and belted out a version of her track, “Same Old Love.” This is the track, remember, that Selena swears is not about Justin Bieber. It is second single off Gomez’s new album, “Revival,” which was released in October and which debuted at number-one on the Billboard 200 albums chat. Selena was asked to perform this year despite NOT being nominated for any actual American Music Awards, which is unusual. In 2014, you might remember that Gomez broke down on stage while singing “The Heart Wants What It Wants” for the first time in concert. That song was clearly about Bieber. There's been talk, meanwhile, that Selena and Justin are back together. Or at least doing very well once again. Just two nights prior to the American Music Awards, Bieber serenaded his ex-girlfriend with the single “My Girl” and then the pair were spotted strolling around Beverly Hills late at night. Pretty exciting, huh? Perhaps that explains why Selena does not shed a single tear in the following performance. She just sheds a few layers of clothing and looks damn fine while doing so. Jim Bob Duggar has a message for all his fellow fathers out there, though said message may be targeted toward one struggling dad in particular. Is he sending a thinly-veiled message to Josh Duggar, his first-born son who is currently toiling away in a Christian sex rehab labor camp? No one knows with certainty. But when the patriarch pens an open letter on the family website, urging dads to become the “coach of your home”? It sure as crap reads like that’s his intended audience. Jim Bob begins by encouraging fathers to be “spiritual leaders” by sharing a very personal story of the time his wife, Michelle, suffered a miscarriage. Going through that while she was on birth control, he says, shaped their views on children (and clearly, they take those views seriously). “We had been rejecting His gifts,” Jim Bob wrote . “We prayed and asked God to forgive us and we gave Him this area of our lives.” “We said, ‘Lord, help us to love children the way that you love children,’ and Lord, we want to receive each one as a gift from you.'” Jim Bob says that in order to be a leader, it’s urgent that fathers ask forgiveness from Jesus, their significant other and children. He also suggested that dads remove all “books, magazines, television or Internet that have worldly or sensual content” from the home. It’s not the first time we’ve heard the Duggars hate on worldly or sensual content , nor is it at all surprising that they would do just that. The timing is curious, though, amid conflicting reports regarding the state of Josh’s fractured marriage to the long-suffering Anna Duggar. Having admitted an online porn addiction and being “unfaithful” to Anna earlier this summer, Josh has been on thin ice to say the least. Still, he’s not giving up with out a fight, and some sources say he’s pushing Anna to have another baby to help save the marriage (really). Anna Duggar: Heartbroken Over Josh in New Special On the flip side, others speculate that Anna is finally leaving Josh after porn star Danica Dillon sued him for giving her rough-sex-induced PTSD. Meanwhile, Anna is breaking her silence. “It was heartbreaking to hear, what had happened,” an emotional Anna, 27, said in a promo for TLC’s Jill and Jessa: Counting On released Friday. At this point, it remains unclear exactly what Anna is planning, and even where Josh is. Rumors suggest he may have bailed on rehab months early. A plane carrying Jim Bob and two of his sons was spotted Friday at an airport in Rockford, Ill., near the facility where Josh is (or was) being treated. Insiders say the plane was on the ground for several hours, before taking back off to Springdale, Arkansas, where the Duggar family resides. The plot thickens. Jennifer Lopez hosted the 2015 American Music Awards. But it wasn't her monologue or her jokes that had people talking after this ceremony concluded. It was her moving and grooving to most of the major hits over the course of the past calendar year. Indeed, Lopez opened the show by impressing attendees via a stripped down version of “Waiting For Tonight.” From there, however, J. Lo got low; putting on an incredible dance routine to smash singles such as Uptown Funk, Anaconda, Feeling Myself, I Can’t Feel My Face, Girl Crush, Bad Blood, Trap Queen, Hotline Bling, Thinking Out Loud, Where Are U Now and Bitch Better Have My Money.
