Tickets sold out in 10 minutes and are now going for quadruple their original price on auction and broker websites. Thousands of people across the country have called radio stations repeatedly in hopes of scoring free seats… …When it was announced earlier this summer, festival organizers promised an unprecedented lineup from different genres, and they have delivered some big-name acts in pop, rock and country music. On Friday, Jay-Z, Coldplay, Alicia Keys, The Black Eyed Peas, Carrie Underwood, Bruno Mars, Kelly Clarkson and Jane’s Addiction will perform. Saturday brings to the stage Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler, Kenny Chesney, Nicki Minaj, Rascal Flatts, David Guetta and Sublime with Rome. When Rihanna was snubbed by MTV for a VMA nomination this year, we thought it was a one-time fluke. But now that the network’ss Europe Music Awards are set to air, and her name has again been left off some serious categories, we’re wondering if they’ve got it out for her. Despite going on tour and releasing a record-breaking six songs from a single album (with music videos to match), the VMA’s didn’t recognize Rihanna for her solo work, only for her collabo with Eminem. ‘He’s a huge movie star. He has huge international appeal,’ producer Brett Ratner tells us on Emmy Awards red carpet. But one man with no such doubt is Brett Ratner , who is producing the 2012 Academy Awards and who has tapped Murphy to host. “I think there’s no question about it. He’s the greatest,” Ratner told us Sunday night at the Emmy Awards about Eddie taking on the gig and slaying the crowd. “My first idea was the show had to go in the direction of more comedy with a single host, and there’s nobody better on that stage than Eddie Murphy.” “I grew up watching ‘ Raw ‘ and ‘ Delirious ‘ and being a big fan of him,” Ratner added. “He’s a huge movie star. He has huge international appeal. There’s nobody better. He’s a pro. The guy is a pro.” That’s certainly true, even if it has been a couple of decades since Eddie’s days as the foulmouthed king of the standup comedy world. Ratner, for his part, appears to be attempting to hit a sort of Eddie Murphy reset button, for years trying to kick-start another ” Beverly Hills Cop ” film and now coming out this fall with ” Tower Heist ,” a flick that finds the comedian cussing and riffing like it’s the ’80s all over again. Perhaps for Murphy, in Ratner he trusts. Which is why, according to the filmmaker, Eddie took zero convincing to take on the Oscar gig. “It’s not the kind of job you want to convince anyone to do. Directed by Paul Hunter, J.Lo’s just-dropped visual shows a chaotic frenzy-turned-chase, wherein the pop star attracts the attention of hoards of men as she strolls down a city street. Lopez begins the five-minute clip by chatting it up with her apartment mail attendant Lisa, confessing that her Army lover has not returned back to her. Lisa offers the singer a cookie that she claims will make “your love come back.” Unfortunately, Jenny from the Block takes a chunk out of the cookie instead of a “small bite,” marking the beginning of the captivating spell she unwittingly casts on every man she passes by. The magic takes 24 hours to take effect as Lopez embarks on a walk the following day and realizes her sudden irresistible allure. Lopez’s charm isn’t restricted to any particular type of “papi” as she draws notice from a corporate businessman, a gardener and even a high-flying motorcyclist. Upon entering her car, her admirers become more and more aggressive and chase her down the street. Just like many of her clips, “Papi” offers some comical choreography when the entertainer realizes that her league of men move in synch with her, offering her a way to escape. Cue the video’s dance break. But Lopez’s tactic doesn’t last for long as the men grab hold of her until her uniform-clad lover walks off a bus and reunites with the pop star. “The craziest thing happened,” Lopez says in an attempt to explain the fiasco to her lover. Hunter and Lopez have previously worked together on a number of videos, including “If You Had My Love,” “Feelin’ So Good” and “Love Don’t Cost a Thing.” “Papi” was produced by hit-maker RedOne and serves as the third single off J.Lo’s comeback album Love? In the clip for her previous single, “I’m Into You,” the pop singer hinted about the release of the club-ready track with another mid-video dance break. Earlier this month, Lopez explained the inspiration behind the song when she called into “On-Air With Ryan Seacrest.” “I was working in the studio with RedOne and his guys, and at the time, I was always kind of like, I always use the word ‘papi,’ ” she recalled. “And they were like, ‘We’re going to write a song called ‘Papi,’ and we just wrote the song about loving somebody and just celebrating that.” Lopez is expected to make her debut performance of the dance track at the iHeartRadio Festival, which will also feature sets from Lady Gaga, Coldplay, Jay-Z and many others, later this month.
