Meek Mill Nabs Spot On MTV Jams’ Fab 5

Maybach Music Group MC joins Big Sean and Future on list of 2011’s hottest new hip-hop upstarts. By Rob Markman Meek Mill Photo: Jerritt Clark/FilmMagic Meek Mill is just trying to live up to his name. After the receiving the rap moniker “Meek Millionaire” from a deceased friend as a teen, the Philadelphia MC decided to tweak his handle — at least until his dreams become reality. “I was using that rap name when I was like 14, 15. But then, as I got older, 18, I started being in the streets. I ain’t calling myself no millionaire running around the streets and I’m hurting, so I just ended up cutting it short to ‘Meek Mill,’ and I left it at that,” he told MTV News. Now, Meek is part of Rick Ross’ Maybach Music Group and MTV Jams’ 2011 Fab 5 lineup, and well on his way to the money. Conceived on MTV Jams in 2005, the Fab 5 is a collection of the year’s most outstanding new hip-hop artists who have made a visual impact on the road to releasing their debut albums. Fab 5 alumni include Juelz Santana, Tony Yayo, Paul Wall, Young Jeezy, Kid Cudi, Drake and 2011 inductees Big Sean and Future . This year, MTV Jams, MTV News and Sucker Free will bring you 2011’s hottest new hip-hop upstarts, and Meek Mill is at the top of the list. Locally, Mill made a name for himself in Philly thanks to his fiery freestyles and street mixtapes, particularly his Flamerz series. His early efforts caught the attention of T.I. and Rick Ross, who collaborated with Meek on his “Ros

Kristen Stewart Shows Off Juggling Skills On ‘Lopez Tonight’

‘Twilight’ star also invites fans to approach her in public: ‘Come up anytime!’ By Mawuse Ziegbe Kristen Stewart and George Lopez on “Lopez Tonight” Photo: TBS It seems like there’s very little fans won’t do to stay up on “Twilight” and the stars of the franchise. They camp out for days for the chance to scream at the stars on a red carpet and apparently make “Spider-Man” fans look like deadbeats . And this week, they stormed movie theaters, crushing box-office records in the process , to see the first glimpse of the third “Twilight” movie, “Eclipse.” However, the star of the juggernaut, Kristen Stewart , recently unveiled a random hobby that few, not even the most devoted Twilighter, may have seen coming: juggling. In a recent episode of “Lopez Tonight,” Stewart flexed her carny skills and juggled three little balls in a segment called “Twilight’s Got Talent” (co-stars Billy Burke and Julia Jones also showed off some wacky skills later in the show). Although Stewart was a little rusty, the actress revealed that she had been brushing up on her juggling tricks because she and “Twilight” heartthrob Robert Pattinson were planning to bring some old-timey razzle-dazzle when they accepted their MTV Movie Awards Best Kiss trophy earlier this year . “I knew vaguely how to do it before. I had to re-teach myself, because Rob almost convinced me that it was a good idea when we won the Best Kiss thing, because we needed to be more prepared this time or whatever, which we weren’t,” Stewart told Lopez. Apparently, Rob and Kristen, who took home the MTV Movie Award for Best Kiss last year as well , wanted to accept their award with a bang. “He wanted me to juggle, and he wanted to bring this bag of props onstage. He wanted to be hula-hooping with a match in his mouth, and he wanted me to be [juggling], which I would never be able to do, ’cause I couldn’t even walk to the stage without tripping,” Stewart said. “So I shot that one down .” The episode was something of a family affair, as Stewart’s dad, who works on “Lopez Tonight” as a stage manager, exchanged some banter with his superstar kid. Stewart also assured Lopez that she can throw down in the kitchen and likes Mexican food (“chili verde, really good”). While she briefly lamented being flocked by fans at the airport, the star insisted that Twilighters should never be afraid to approach her. “Fans are great,” Stewart said. “Come up anytime!” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . Ludacris Had A ‘Good Conversation’ With Former Rival Bill O’ Reilly

‘We came together and did an event for charity,’ MC says of his run-in with the Fox News pundit. By Hillary Crosley Ludacris Photo: Jerritt Clark/ Getty Images Ludacris has made peace with his much-publicized enemy, Fox News anchor Bill O’Reilly, after running into the controversial republican pundit at a recent dinner. “The first thing I said to him was, ‘I want to meet the guy who has had so much to say about me, but knows absolutely nothing about me’,” Ludacris told RadarOnline.com . “I identified that I wanted to speak to him when I saw his name on the guest list. I looked at what table he was on and I walked my ass straight to that table,” Luda continued. “He wasn’t expecting to see me at all. The look on his face when he saw me approaching … priceless.” The MC said the pair even teamed up for a recent charity event, but the shindig was kept secret. In 2002, Pepsi announced Ludacris as one of its spokespeople, and O’Reilly demanded a boycott against the company for hiring someone who “disrespects women, encourages drug use and encouraged violence.” In response, Pepsi fired Ludacris , though O’Reilly continued to condemn the rapper for years afterward, calling him “vile” and a “thug.” The soft-drink company also hired Jack and Kelly Osbourne, children of Ozzy Osbourne and famous for their foul mouths, as spokespeople and kept the pair on board. “I feel like they don’t respect the black dollar,” Ludacris said in 2003 of the beverage company’s decision to drop him. “When they put the Osbournes on, that’s basically them saying I’m worse than the Osbournes, so I don’t know who makes the decisions up there. No pun intended, but that’s ludicrous, man.” But now the past is water under the bridge. “The conversation we had was confidential, however, let’s just say it was a good conversation and good came out of it,” Ludacris offered. “From there, we came to a common ground. To be honest with you, we came together and did an event for charity — as crazy as it sounds. Perhaps everything happens for a reason.” The MC said the meeting was a culmination of years of cosmic pleading. “I prayed since the very first moment that Bill said something about me on television that I would be able to meet him in person,” Ludacris said. “It took about seven years for that to happen, but it finally happened. And the joy that came over me, well, it was outstanding.” Representatives for the MC were not available for comment at press time. Related Artists Ludacris
