Before she was a world-renowned trashy reality star, Jersey Shore star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi was criminally charged for getting minors trashed at a house party. A party that ended with a DUI death of a classmate. Snooki was one of three individuals charged in connection with the 2004 death of teenager Michael Truncali, a Marlboro, N.Y., High School senior at the time. Truncali died with a BAC of .18 – more than twice the legal limit – when he crashed his car and died on Thanksgiving after drinking for hours at Snooki’s house. He had been drinking heavily in Snooki’s basement before crashing his car on his way home. Snooki was charged with Prohibited Sale of Alcoholic Beverages. Snooki, of course, has emerged as one of the breakout stars of MTV’s hit show, where partying and binge drinking is frequently part – or all – of the episodes. Are Snooki and her co-stars setting a terrible example? According to police statements, the party took place in a home owned by Helen Polizzi, who is Snooki’s mother. Helen was investigated but not charged. The parents of the victim, however, do not think the entire truth has been told and they expressed conflicting emotions about Snooki’s rise to stardom. Michelle and Bill Truncali are upset how she “glorifies” alcohol consumption, and watched two Jersey Shore episodes before they “couldn’t take anymore.” She expressed some anger toward Snooki, saying: “She doesn’t care about what happened to our son.” But later she said: “We’re not out to trash Nicole. I never blamed her for what happened, she was a 16-year-old (sic). I blame others.” “I am not looking for those people to get arrested, I just want the truth … I just don’t feel that parents should allow underage drinking in their homes.” Bill and Michelle said they hope that by speaking out they will spread a message to other teens about consequences of underage drinking and driving.

Tinsley Mortimer is a Park Avenue princess. Naturally, that entitles her to a her own show , High Society , premiering this evening on the CW. The series will follow Tinsley and her colorful friends as she navigates New York’s elite social scene as a newly single girl. Absolutely riveting. She recently got divorced from her husband, whom she met in high school, and is rumored to be dating American Idol castoff Constantine Maroulis of all people. “I did meet him while filming the show,” Tinsley Mortimer tells E! News. “He happened to be at an event I was hosting on the show. But it wasn’t set up that way.” “It was just a complete random event that happened while I was filming.” Are you ready for Tinsley Mortimer? Yes, she’s a real person! The handbag designer and Dior beauty ambassador, whatever that is, graduated from Columbia University, and says the new show will show her imperfect life. “Because I’m a girl that definitely lives in an amazing, very privileged world in New York, I feel like people think that things come very easy to me,” she said. “My life is not so perfect, and I want to expose that,” she adds . One thing this High Society socialite recently got excited about? Meeting the Jersey Shore cast. “I just think they’re so funny and so themselves,” she said. She first ran into The Situation and Pauly D while recording a voiceover for her show, and she recently got to work with J-Woww, Snooki and Sammi as well. So does Tins think the Jersey cast could cut on the Upper East Side (also home to Gossip Girl )? “I would love to do something with them,” Tins teased.

When she’s not busy getting an education in the Big Apple, she’s hanging with the “Jersey Shore” cast at work functions and tweeting with Snooki . “I don’t go to clubs with Snooki,” Lee said to MTV News. “I can’t say I’ve ever fist-pumped with her to house music at a club, but I’ve seen her at MTV functions. Just stuff for work. And she’s a really, really sweet girl. Basically, she talks about how she likes the show and says she watches it and how she was a cheerleader in high school, but she was nice to people.” If they haven’t been clubbing, it begs the question: Do they “GTL” together? “No gym, tan, laundry,” she laughed about the “Jersey Shore” stars’ top priorities. “I think she’s gym, tan, Emilio [now]. She recently fell in love. I haven’t met Emilio. I’ve seen pictures on Twitter, though. He’s tan, lots of hair gel. “She’s so sweet, though, and she’s so cute,” Lee continued about her pal. “I just want to pick her up and put her in my pocket and feed her animal crackers. She’s a really, really sweet girl, and you can’t help but love her. It’s inescapable.” Although Lee is a celeb herself, when she first met the cast of the “Jersey Shore,” she was pretty starstruck. “They didn’t really know much about the show, but they were pretty sweet,” she recalled. “And then we were at lunch together, and I thought that was insane.
